took delivery of one of Cliff's new t-shirts last week and confirm it's definitely the fashion item to be seen in this season. It is as Cliff put it 'the b0110cks'! Petrol Fan @ on ? They were and always will be the greatest band of all time. My first gig was The Undertones supported by the Moondogs at Newcastle City Hall in June 1980. When I was 16/17 I was a singer in a local band that was heavily influenced by the Undertones (we did a couple of Undertones/moondogs covers in our set). On my 18th birthday I received a card from the band which I still have. I only saw them a couple of times live but they were blinding. I never met them but did meet the Moondogs at a gig on Teesside in late 1980. I have loads of Moondogs stuff on tape recorded from their Tv show 'moondogs Matinee' (anyone remember that ?) and would love to see the recorded album released. I did have the Undertones Peel session mentioned in an e-mail below with versions of Positive Touch When Saturday Comes and You're Welcome that were better than the album versions but I have lost it. Again this should get a release. At the end of last year after about 400 concerts that I have attended my punk sensibilities told me that at 36 it was time I retired from gig going. I decided only 2 gigs would bring me out of retirement a Beatles or an Undertones reunion gig. Well I can't believe it but here we are with a Mean Fiddler gig on 9 June and the Fleadh the day after. I've already got my tickets and will see the rest of the Jump Boys down the front. Cliff on ? I could feel a tear in my eye and the goosepimples and make no apologies for that!the 'tones say that they expected the atmosphere and welcome they got in Derry their hometown-lets make sure they get atleast the same if not better when they come to England eh?!
