Stanstead-derry return is £100 if you buy 2 singles (info courtesy of Arthur Magee)I live less than an hour from Stanstead and check in is 6:30 am,anyone interested can stay the night at mine.Alternatively if it's easier to get to Belfast, Arthur is driving up from there. Lindsay on ? GMT #87d-466 So Billy, when you come to London again, we can rely on you to persuade your cousin to come over with you (+ his band of course!). Cliff @ on ? GMT #87d-467 Vinny Cunningham sent me this today : "The Sunday Tribune here yesterday named the Top 100 Irish albums ever, The Undertones are at no 4 and no 14 with 'The Undertones' and 'Positive Touch'" Thats excellent, the band must be proud of that.Does this mean though that Hypnotised didn't figure anywhere ? seems hard to believe. Julius @ on ? GMT #87d-468 Thanks for the info Billy and nice revelation about the family connection between the Moondogs-drummer and the Undertones-drummer. I wish I could make it to Derry, but with my wife expecting a third child we need all the money to make an extra bedroom.... hughrobinson on ? GMT #87d-469 Thanks cliff. I was a bit 'emotional' when I did that and I wasn't thinking too straight. By the way, Linus McLaughlin was in The Corneboys and I'm pretty sure he is married to Mickey Bradley's sister. phil on ? GMT #87d-470 billy..what about the rumour of the belfast concert at xmas..any truth?....if you do i will organise a bus from the airport for all the rest of the contributors to the site phil on ? GMT #87d-471 and they could get cheap flights with easyjet if you give them more than a months notice (£12.50 from luton....£7.50 from l'pool) phil on ? GMT #87d-472 i smell a sell out gig Vince Philpot @ on ? GMT #87d-473 i caught the Undertones at the flaedh, absolutely fantastic, I am 39 and it felt like 1979 all over again, it didn't matter that Feargal wasn't there. Do you know anyone who has a tape of this gig. Rick @ on ? GMT #87d-474 Hey Moondogs fans. I just received a vinyl copy of the Moondogs album 'That's What Friends are For' that I ordered from a website called 101cd.com This appears to be a different version of the Germany only release that Julius Herman taped for me. The tracklisting is Ya Don't Do Ya, She's 19, I Wanna be a Pop Star, Who's Gonna Tell Mary, That's The Way It Goes, That's What Friends are For, Schoolgirl Crush, I Lit a Fire, Home Is Where the Heart Is, Dream Girl, Zulu, This Girl, I'm Not Sleeping, Dressed to Kill, and Talking in the Canteen. I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet but will report back. Glad to hear the Moondogs are getting back together to play with the Undertones in Derry. Unfortunately, I am on holiday that week and can't attend. Is this the original line-up. How about some gigs over here for all the Moondogs fanatics guys ? Cliff @ on ? GMT #87d-475 **DERRY GIG TICKETS**.....When I went to Derry in June it was pretty laid back regarding tickets,"Cool Discs" put one aside for me and I paid and collected it on the day.however I've just spoken to the guy and he said this time it's gonna be different because it's for the football club. They must recieve payment before collection and there has been loads of interest from all over (Dublin and England, he said) I'm sending an SAE today,e-mail me for "Cool Discs" address. The capacity of the venue is approx 1,400. Cliff on ? GMT #87d-476 Bam Bam and The Calling will play approx 45 mins each,Moondogs 1 hr 15 mins and The Undertones will play until we drop !! Apparently it should be the full line up for the Moondogs although jackie Hamilton is not 100% because of work commitments. In truth,if any of these bands are any good that's a bonus but I'm not too bothered, it's all about seeing the 'tones in what looks like the perfect venue AND packed to the rafters. Adrian on ? GMT #87d-477 Thanks for the tip Rick,I just ordered my copy I've only been waiting 20 years to buy this album!I owe you a pint!! Julius on ? GMT #87d-478 Well, Rick this Moondogs-album you obtained has the same tracklisting as the one I found last week in this secondhand shop here in Holland. It is the original German album(same sleeve and same versions of the songs)added with a few bonustracks: the "she's 19"- single A+ B-side + talking in the canteen single added. I doubt whether this is an offical version as there is no information given on record-company etc....Still, you have the original album on vinyl plus a few magnificent singles. Maybe The Moondogs themselves can shed a light on this album-release issue. Surely someone attending the concert in Derry will tell them about the lively discussion on the Moondogs on this website!!! CMoS @ on ? GMT #87d-479 Anybody want to e-mail in a beginners guie to the Moondogs - discography - pixs etc as a taster for *the* gig.
