GMT #29f-6001 Just noticed in the RADIO TIMES that TOP TEN PUNK is being repeated on Channel 4 tonight at 12.05pm. Look out for some great camerawork on this programme by a certain Derryman!! Julius on ? GMT #de1-6002 Gentlemen, enjoy yourselves in Belfast, wish I could be there and share a pint...a shame, an other shame is we do not have Channel 4 on cable here in Holland. Well, looking forward to the Undertones-documentary Vinny!! Great my picture made it!! Take your time in sending the stuff back, I can wait!!! Just been reading the Mojo Magazine collectors issue, they had a top 50 punk singles and "teenage kicks" only made it to no. 20!!! I claim to be very objective if I say that the people who compiled this list have not understand what punk was about!!! (even Nag nag by Cabaret Voltaire had a higher placing, which can not be called punk I think! Arthur on ? GMT #29f-6003 George and I are going to pick up Cliff in the M-O-A-T-A-A-H! Giving it large as they say, what's is game eh? George on ? GMT #29f-6004 What was the score Cliff? Hope the Undertones don't let you down. Roll on Top Ten of Punk. Lee on ? GMT #e79-6005 Julius - do you know where Grubbenvorst is ? I think that is where I have to visit in week starting 20th August. Is it by anywhere that we could get together ? Derek on ? GMT #2b7-6006 George has just rang me with the Tones rehearsing in the background. Bliss. Thanks George. Saw the Top Ten of punk last night (how could any one mioss the Tones on the tele).I thought we should have been at least number 5 (on thier rating system), I don't know what anyone else thinks? Derek on ? GMT #2b7-6007 P.S. Hope it goes alright tonight? If anyones out there and wants to ring me during the real thing, I won't mind. Arthur on ? GMT #29f-6008 How can I describe tonights gig? Well how about an incredibly large marquee with tables and a bar. The whole event had the feel of a German Beer Festival. Don't get me wrong, I'm from Belfast, it's a drinking town so I know what to expect. And what I expect is one of the best groups in the world working their beautiful music, winning over a crowd, at least half of whom were indifferent, to the whole range of tragi-comic, angst ridden, classic tunes that encompass the Undertones. Well that's what I expected. What I got was a band who were clearly under-rehearsed (at least 4 false starts), with a muddled sound (and I mean bad) who went for the easy cop out of Teenage Kicks ( of course the crowd loved it) but who overall got a 5 out of 10. So come on boys, you are so much better than you showed tonight. Give it a bit more preparation. You and the music you produce deserve better than you showed tonight. Cliff on ? GMT #29f-6009 Yep,in a nutshell there were far to many mistakes tonight, which appeared to be down to a lack of organisation.Several false starts and messy songs, the worst so far since the reformation.Hopefully its a one off as we all know how good they can and should be. Ralph Heibutzki @ on ? GMT [None yet: forthcoming] #a1d-6010 Hi, I've visited the site many times -- lovely presentation, and good content, too! My own lengthy feature on the band was just featured in DISCoveries' May 2001 issue, so you may want add to that your printed section. Good to see the boys back in action, after all this time, and thanks for yours! Ralph Heibutzki @ on ? GMT [None yet: forthcoming] #e51-6011 Silly me -- forgot to tell you where to find the 'tones Story in DISCoveries. Well, what can I say? It's late! Just type in my name, the mag's name (as it appears above), or Krause Publications (which puts out DISCoveries), and you should all be able to read it. Enjoy! CMoS on ? GMT #a5b-6012 Dean Friedman is a star ther "Grown Ups" albums is beautifully bittersweet. His appearence on "Baddiels' syndrome" was magnificant CMoS on ? GMT #a5b-6013 The "Teenage Kicks" banner is Bridget Jones' diary is from an interview she attends for becoming a TV presenter. She has her larger knickers on I believe - whils twere on the subject go and see "Shrek" Lee on ? GMT #fb0-6014 Well I never thought I'd find another Undertones and Dean Friedman fan. Nice one CMoS ! Wonder what the band think of the weekends gig. Doesn't sound so good.
