Just noticed in the RADIO TIMES that TOP TEN PUNK is being repeated on Channel 4 tonight at 12.05pm. Look out for some great camerawork on this programme by a certain Derryman!!

Just been reading the Mojo Magazine collectors issue, they had a top 50 punk singles and "teenage kicks" only made it to no. 20!!! I claim to be very objective if I say that the people who compiled this list have not understand what punk was about!!! (even Nag nag by Cabaret Voltaire had a higher placing, which can not be called punk I think!

How can I describe tonights gig? Well how about an incredibly large marquee with tables and a bar. The whole event had the feel of a German Beer Festival. Don't get me wrong, I'm from Belfast, it's a drinking town so I know what to expect. And what I expect is one of the best groups in the world working their beautiful music, winning over a crowd, at least half of whom were indifferent, to the whole range of tragi-comic, angst ridden, classic tunes that encompass the Undertones. Well that's what I expected. What I got was a band who were clearly under-rehearsed (at least 4 false starts), with a muddled sound (and I mean bad) who went for the easy cop out of Teenage Kicks ( of course the crowd loved it) but who overall got a 5 out of 10. So come on boys, you are so much better than you showed tonight. Give it a bit more preparation. You and the music you produce deserve better than you showed tonight.

Yep,in a nutshell there were far to many mistakes tonight,which appeared to be down to a lack of organisation.Several false starts and messy songs,the worst so far since the reformation.Hopefully its a one off as we all know how good they can and should be.

Dean Friedman is a star ther "Grown Ups" albums is beautifully bittersweet. His appearence on "Baddiels' syndrome" was magnificant

Well I never thought I'd find another Undertones and Dean Friedman fan. Nice one CMoS ! Wonder what the band think of the weekends gig. Doesn't sound so good.
