isn't it the case that there are several queen mothers taking it in rotation to do the visits etc? hence she may have passed on last week and that was a doppelganger at church. or maybe a doppelganger passed away and that was the real queen mum?...confused?

has anyone actually got the nuggets lp from which a lot of the inspiration for the later undertones songs was taken? i can't locate a copy.

don't laugh - i went to see planet of the apes on saturday (the wife's idea). apart from the end which was just laughable it could have been worse actually but i think the thing that made it for me and kept me smiling throughout the last half was when they start to fill you in with the history that the ape that they all worship that started their takeover from the humans was none other than cmos !!!

my other great passion apart from the undertones is planet of the apes. i was at the premier and met and chatted with helena (shes very nice). the new movie looks great but has a weak story and, incidentally lee, the end is the same as the original pierre boulle novel so not that laughable really.

i thought the new planet of the apes film was a straightforward reworking of the original film but with more and supposedly better graphics and special effects.

i haven't seen the new film yet. so cmos takes over the planet eh! did there used to be a tv series called planet of the apes or is old age playing tricks with my memory?

rick you're a star. i thought the ending of poa was going to be he returned back to the space station and was put in a cage with a treat by the apes running the station.

i know i'm going to sound anorakish but yes george there was a pota tv series which ran for 14 episodes in the winter of 1974/75 followed by a 10 episode cartoon tv show in 1976. i could go on for hours on this subject - you have been warned.

changing the subject back to why we're here - this months issue of uncut magazine with the who on the cover plugs vinny's undertones documentary 'teenage kicks' as part of the london film festival.

are you an expert on land of the giants as well rick. i remember being scared when i watched them 30 years ago but when they were repeated a few years back it didn't have the same impact.
