last xmas i bought doina the new dido cd.she plays it all the time and i like several of the songs myself.watching bits of totp last week they announced 'heres the new one from dido'...should be interesting i think....but low and behold it was from that cd from almost a year ago!! is that the norm now? it's a bit cheeky isn't it? if, for example, the undertones had released 'tearproof' so long after 'hypnotised' i'd have thought 'shouldn't you have written new stuff and moved on by now lads?'.then of course we had the excellent new number 1, by a middle aged dj singing an old 60's song, and half way through we got the mandatory 'everybody say yol'

back from almost a week off ! email virus at work was vicious and they had to take access to the net away - and didn't get a minute at home so almost a week of postings to catch up with. well done vinny by the way.

so the email virus seems to have gone but now i've gone down with lindsay's flu virus i think. felt lousy last night - just managing to get through the day at work. how long does it last lindsay ?

cliff - and does doina insist on looking at things almost at random in the supermarket ? i get the job of trying to keep the kids in check when we all go shopping and happily work along the aisles in some sort of logical order - only once in a while to get asked to catch up because my wife is 3 aisles further on, but 10 minutes later she's gone back to where i was and the trolley just isn't next to her to drop everything into.

but this then follows on and backs up my thoughts on 'multitasking' - i believe it is true that women's minds are able to 'multitask' and think of a few things at the same time whereas us men are just not capable - but multitasking thoughts could easily be interpreted as random thoughts. this is how i've convinced myself that it isn't a problem that i've never won an arguement with my wife - or if i might possibly be getting the upper hand it explains how the subject was changed without me even noticing it.

vinny - i must have missed it but what's the date of the foyle film festival. just a thought for those attending the london film premier - why not go in formal evening wear and make an event of it. my mate and i used to hold the odd party in our squalid flat in hulme and demand formal dress at - it really added to the fun and you can pick up a dress suit in oxfam for a tenner. cliff - i've started reading the ingredients on packets as i don't trust what is being put in food.
