CR - I mentioned the Strokes - it's a good album with some good tunes but really not the greatest thing ever - still well worth a listen though.

Was listening to Feargal's first 3 singles and first album yesterday for the first time maybe in at least 10 years. Singles still sound okay but the rest of the album isn't worth much of a listen in my opinion. Had almost forgotten Listen to your Father - bit of fun I suppose.

AM justing getting into the 'White Stripes' stunning - I like the wierd production of the Strokes - 'Get Ready' is half decent as is 'Beautiful Garbage' - I wount even tell you about The 'Simple Minds' cover album ....

Pretty much agree with you about The Strokes Arthur, but I'm afraid the hype actually detracts from the record by raising expectations too high. Incidentally I was at a party on Sat night, loads of Nu Metal being played, then Feargal's 'A Good Heart' came on, whereupon this 19 or 20 year old bloke I'd never met before started waxing lyrical about how great the Undertones and That Petrol Emotion were. Nice one, respect to him. (But just a word of advice people, if you ever get invited to a party in the Redland district of Bristol, and a young bloke who likes the Undertones recommends you try the Gin Jelly, do NOT under any circumstances accept. Especially if you've already had 6 cans of Gaymer's Old English, 3 pints of 6X and a curry).
