Wilke - Lee & I are in the process of putting our respective Moondogs Matinee's together soon on to 1 videotape (I have 3 episodes and he has another 3 - there is 1 elusive episode we haven't got). Once this is complete I'm happy to copy them for whoever wants them. I'll keep you informed.

NME WEBSITE TODAY Please let this work..........

Happy birthday Jackie - a mere youngster. There aren't many of us still in our 30's around here !

Lee on 12:43 6th-Nov-01 GMT #fb0-10730
Wilke - as per Rick it would be worth waiting. I hope to get my video to Rick by the weekend but have also recently found someone who works at Granada and is hoping to dig out the tapes from the vaults. You never know we might get decent copies eventually. Has to be hush hush so don't tell anyone - woops - just told the world. Actually, this is sad. Our 1 year old woke up at 3.30 this morning. I couldn't get back to sleep so I got up around 5'ish and as the video was sitting there waiting to be sent to Rick I decided to play it. The Moondogs at 5am - what a start to the day.

Lee on 12:44 6th-Nov-01 GMT #fb0-10731
Rick - will you be able to get a copy of the video to Julius ? I know he's been after these for a while.

Lee on 12:46 6th-Nov-01 GMT #fb0-10732
Warwick Arts Centre or the Mac it is then. Look forward to it.

Lee on 12:49 6th-Nov-01 GMT #fb0-10733
Moondogs mania - just went to check the Moondogs site and the latest is they might be playing with the Saw Doctors on December 22nd. The Saw Doctors must be touring then because I think they play Dublin on the 19th as when I thought there was a chance of making the trip I was wondering about just staying in Dublin and checking them out on the 19th. I know it's dream time but a week in Ireland and catching the Undertones and The Moondogs - what more could anyone ask for - the Clash as support for 1 gig and TPE for the other ?

Rick on 14:06 6th-Nov-01 GMT #c16-10734
Lee - I'm happy to send Julius a copy. Will the Netherlands video system be compatable though ? We're Pal I think and they're Secam. In the meantime, please hurry with sending me that tape - I'm dying to see it.

Marty on 14:26 6th-Nov-01 GMT #d12-10736
I was at the gig at the nerve centre and I thought that the new songs which the band played were nowhere near as good as even some of their not so good early material. Don't get me wrong I loved the Undertones all those years ago and still love going to see them. But there is no chance that their new stuff will come close to anything they did before. Please lads don't even think of releasing any of those tunes. If you do you will destroy any credibility that you still hang on to. And another thing, despite all the slagging that Sharkey comes in for, Paul McLoone (while a good singer in his own right) isn't a patch on Feargal. If the band do release new material with Paul singing it will disappoint many of us who were once keen admirers of the band.

Marty on 14:27 6th-Nov-01 GMT #d12-10737
By the way how come it isn't possible to join the net humdingers club. I went to the page but it was blank.

Marty on 14:32 6th-Nov-01 GMT #d12-10738
I just posted a message and was informed 'it will appear shorty'. What is going on? Is this message board censored or what?

Hugh on 16:20 6th-Nov-01 GMT #64f-10740
Given the number of fans who live near the Warwick Arts Centre (and remarkably don't seem to know each other!) it would seem that there's an audience there already. Bristol also has a film festival soon which I am going to.

Cliff on 18:40 6th-Nov-01 GMT #864-10742
Marty, I have to disagree with you there. The new songs were class and , although I'd need to hear them again to be sure, certainly sounded up to previous Undertones standards.I don't think the band 'hang on to' their credibility as you put it, I dont think they've tarnished their reputation in the slightest.I don't think Feargal has been slagged off on this website atleast.Paul isn't Feargal thats for sure, he has his own sound and style. But I think he's slipped in there superbly and it seems to me nobody even makes an issue of it anymore. If the band do release new material, it might dissapoint some but there are loads more that would be happy about it.One thing we can be sure of is that it will have to be good for the band to record it in the first place as they seem to be their own biggest crirics.Fortunately they're not the type of band that will record something with the attitude, 'that will do'.

Cliff on 18:43 6th-Nov-01 GMT #864-10743
Marty, the reason you got the message 'it will appear shortly' is that several weeks ago we were getting loads of abuse on here for no reason.

wilke @ on 20:38 6th-Nov-01 GMT #8a9-10744
sorry marty but i have to side with cliff on this one sure the old songs are great but you have to rember the old songs were new at one stage eg my wife and a lot of other people i know don`t like going to the gigs anymore because they know that the set won`t have change that much from the last gig they saw so here`s to lot`s more new stuff as well as the old songs at gigs ps to all who are comeing over for the cork what time dose your flight get into dublin as i need know so i can meet up with you thanks pps vinny good luck for the film on bbc hope you get a lot of good feed back about i have my vcr set can`t wait see ya

Hugh on 22:18 6th-Nov-01 GMT #263-10745
You've got to remember Marty that any new songs are written by very different people with twenty more years of experiences to draw on. It would be a bit dodgy if they sounded Like Teenage Kicks. Personally I'm delighted to hear that there are new songs and can't wait to hear them.

donald on 22:22 6th-Nov-01 GMT #e46-10746
I am really looking forward to hearing new songs. Get ready with those VCR's everyone!!

Pete the Lurker on 23:17 6th-Nov-01 GMT #ebb-10747
Happy birthday Jackie. If I could get a copy of TPE that would be great. Just been looking through the Sky channels & found I can get BBC NI but only channel 2. As quite a lot of people are going on the Sunday is there an official pub? I seem to remember a dodgy one being discussed, but I can't remeber what it was or if we were going there
