Musings
I'm sure it was one of us but not me as I already had one. When I collected my ticket I managed to blag one with a mixture of my good looks, style and that Essex charm. You did well to get to the bar afterwards though, the security guys couldn't get us out quick enough. Lindsay on 10:28 23rd-Dec-01 GMT #d9f-11578 Thanks for the tape Jackie - hope you got mine and some other unsuspecting guest doesn't now own a copy. Hope you're feeling better Derek - another story to add to your list. Have a good holiday everyone - it's snowed here overnight. Roll on 2 January - my favourite day of the year. Henry on 12:51 23rd-Dec-01 GMT #a52-11579 Alex, I suspect I was the Mystery Poster man, as I happened to wander past the box office at about midday and saw that the poster was still up on the wall. As I now have two posters, if anyone wants it, let me know. wilke @ on 15:32 23rd-Dec-01 GMT #eec-11581 hello you lot just a line to say thanks to everyone who i met at the gigs this is not my pc so as soon as i get my one fix i will be back on line once more thanks see you all next year or maybe soon bye Cliff on 17:39 23rd-Dec-01 GMT #530-11582 You old misery guts Lindsay. Jackie on 17:58 23rd-Dec-01 GMT #455-11583 Hiya everyone, just back from Dublin, belter of a few days. Seeing the Tones again for the first time in over 18 years (half my lifetime as George handily pointed out!!) was just unreal. It was like the last 18 years never happened. AMAZING!!! I hope Dublin at Christmas is now going to be a regular thing. Meeting everyone afterwards was great too-and I thought the pubs would be shut! Jackie on 18:00 23rd-Dec-01 GMT #455-11584 PS My liver hurts! I hope the postponement of Hackney means its now going to be a Saturday night. Then I'll be able to go. Thanks for the video Lindsay-and I'm glad you got your tape. Jackie on 18:06 23rd-Dec-01 GMT #455-11585 And to top it off when my mam asks me about the gig she suddenly remembers she found my Rocking Humdinger badge in a drawer-only a week too late! Derek on 20:17 23rd-Dec-01 GMT #e53-11586 Thanks for asking Lindsay. I have unfortunately not been to the quacks yet as there is too much to do. I now think I have only bruised a rib or pulled a muscle and not broken a rib. It's still bloody painful though, especially when driving. Anyway, I almost can't believe that I have come from a Tones gig which was as tight and as exhilerating as they were in the 80's. THEY WERE JUST SUPERB. Dublin was definately one of the best Undertones gig's I have been to. The audience were definately up for it, sang all the words and danced like billyo (hence the rib). This is the first gig I have been to since the reformation that the bouncers have been lifting people out of the crowd because of the crush. I even turned round at one stage and was stunned to see I was being outpogoed by a 60+ year old. Fantastic. Must go now baby calling me. Jackie on 20:20 23rd-Dec-01 GMT [www.bbc.co.uk/northernireland/senseofplace/work/undertones/index] #455-11587 This made me laugh! Jackie on 20:21 23rd-Dec-01 GMT #455-11588 ...at least it did when it worked! George on 23:18 23rd-Dec-01 GMT #89e-11589 Just spent another two hours at an airport today waiting to collect my mam. Ex-tory minister Michael Portillo arrived at the airport. I should have given him some abuse but I wasn't too sure if my mam was on the same flight. During my eight hours shopping in Edinburgh I did buy a CD by The Toy Dolls, a sunderland band who actually got as high as No.4 in the charts courtesy of a novelty record. Here's hoping a revised date for Hackney is forthcoming pretty soon.
