How is everybody planning to see in the New Year? I am off to see the punk tribute band 1977 again. Hopefully at dot on midnight they will be playing Teenage Kicks or some other Undertones song. What better way to see in the New Year other than have the Undertones actually playing your home town instead! Hopefully the snow will clear cos' I had problems with the locks freezing on my car yesterday. Hope you all have an enjoyable new year and look forward to seeing you all again at the re-arranged Hackney concert. donald on 18:02 31st-Dec-01 GMT #8e4-11699 have a good one everyone - I'm having a quiet one -overdid it one satuday and I'm still hungover. aftershock is well named.Heres to a new ep and lots of tour dates in 2002 (and more fans with 38E Undertones bras) Cliff on 18:12 31st-Dec-01 GMT #23e-11700 You know those wall mounted fish that sing? quite amusing I always thought and today in a gift shop I found a LOBSTER version!! As I went to press the button to make it sing I prayed it was gonna sing 'Hypnotised' or anything from the album but no such luck...it was a 60's song. Cliff on 18:26 31st-Dec-01 GMT #59f-11701 Have a great new year everyone.Another excellent Undertones year passes by.10 gigs(that's what I made it anyway: Termon,Belfast,Gasyard, Bryan Adams,Nerve Centre,Galway,Cork,Dublin,Limerick and Nerve Centre again)A film and new songs! What more could we possibly ask? Also t-shirts sold at gigs and(maybe)a proper full size back drop. These are all positive steps forward after some of us thought it might be all over this time last year.So how about this time next year? A Peel session? New stuff in some format or another? A mini tour of UK? me being allowed on stage to play the tamborine or going topless as Feargal used to? (calm yourselves girls). Derek on 19:26 31st-Dec-01 GMT #2b7-11702 Have a good year everyone Jackie on 20:30 31st-Dec-01 GMT #455-11703 Have a brilliant 2002, this year has been pretty cool-seeing the Undertones play live again, which this time only 6 months ago I thought was never going to happen. Also meeting like minded fans (including George after a 18 year absence!) has been great. Celebrating a 20 year friendship with Angela in May which begun after we started writing through the Rocking Humdingers Club..not bad eh? For a change having a quiet New Year as the rest of my family are away-so no babysitter. Doesnt stop the drink flowing though! Wonder who will be on Jools Holland... AlexD on 22:24 31st-Dec-01 GMT #505-11704 Have a Happy New Year everyone, let's hope next year is a Humdinger. Cheers Alex Vinny on 02:04 1st-Jan-02 GMT #d12-11705 Am I really the first posting for 2002? Either quite sad OR the rest of you had babysitters? No actaully, we spent a great evening at my Mother and Father's getting stick about THE UNDERTONES and how my Dad used to shout upstairs and say 'Turn that racket down! And laughing at the irony of my 8 year old son dancing to the same music so many years later;Anyway, here's hoping for a great 2002 and let's not forget that this website happens because SOMEONE makes it happen and doesn't just appear out of nowhere for us to communicate with each other. Thanks CMOS. Thanks everyone for the support during the making of the film and especially afterwards BUT most importantly THANKS to The Undertones for doing it all again!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!! It's now 2.02am as if you didn't know!! Manchester Man on 02:07 1st-Jan-02 GMT #d12-11706 I heard that there's talk of film screenings followed by gigs in some English Cities such as Manchester, Sheffield and Glasgow. Here's hoping....HAPPY NEW YEAR George on 02:10 1st-Jan-02 GMT #eb3-11707 Happy New Year Everyone. Well what a start to the new year. 2 minutes past midnight and the tribute band played Teenage Kicks. It easily got the most people up dancing and jumping about. Then after the concert had finished and they started playing tapes Teenage Kicks came on so I had to get up and dance again. Then Into the Valley. Then some Clash, then Antmusic. I am thoroughly knackered, stink of smoke. If only it had been the real thing! Now for my cup of drinking chocolate. George on 02:10 1st-Jan-02 GMT #eb3-11708 Happy New Year Vinny
