Pete,am I to understand you are from Luton?if so did you ever see The Undertones in Hemel or Aylesbury?

Vinny on 09:17 9th-Jan-02 GMT #8eb-11889
'BITTER SWEET' has to be the name for any new album, don't know why, it just has a ring to it!! Anyway, I've just heard that TEENAGE KICKS has been selected to take part in the Celtic Film and Television Festival in Brittany this year. Delighted.Over the moon, etc......

Rick (or is it Nick ?) on 09:22 9th-Jan-02 GMT #c16-11890
Cliff and Jackie get my votes for best new album titles. 'Got a Hairy Back' and 'Mid-life Crisis of Mine' - both classic. Geaorge's '6 Foot Under the Boardwalk' comes a close second though.

George on 11:41 9th-Jan-02 GMT #c3d-11891
I like the title Bitter sweet. They could also include the version done by John with him singing it which is brilliant. For anyone who disagrees with the reunion etc it can be a bitter pill to swallow whereas for those who want more it seen be a sweet experience such as eating chocolate.

Rick on 11:54 9th-Jan-02 GMT #c16-11892
Mars bars perhaps George ? I think Cliff's cunningly clever and satanic 'Got A Hairy Back' gets my vote as best suggested new album title. Second place would go to Jackie's 'Mid-life Crisis of Mine' and third to George's '6 Foot Under the Boardwalk'

Lee on 12:47 9th-Jan-02 GMT #fb0-11893
A cd of new tracks with a cynical marketing ploy to cheer Rick up of a free cd of old classics redone with Paul sounds like a good idea to me.

Lee on 12:49 9th-Jan-02 GMT #fb0-11894
Where's Wilke these days ? Wilke - if you're out there I sent you a parcel maybe 2 weeks ago now. Did you get it ?

Vinny on 15:53 9th-Jan-02 GMT #34e-11895
LEE: Wilke is fine, I think his PC is not however!!Replacing soon. Bye.

Mik (undertones soundman) on 16:54 9th-Jan-02 GMT #d12-11896
What is it with the lobsters? By the way Cliff, your banner is safe and well in the Nerve Centre. Mik

Jon on 18:00 9th-Jan-02 GMT #d41-11898
Brilliant news about the album. I'd be quite happy if a few tracks were Paul recordings of some of the classics. On the other hand why not make it a double with new versions of our favourites on the second - sorry getting greedy now.

p2 on 18:23 9th-Jan-02 GMT #08b-11899
Well, just to be different I think the idea of a second CD with new versions of the old songs with PMcL is a bit duff - Stalinist revisionism. An album of new live stuff- now that is a very different bowl of cherries altogether. Also I was very disappointed that 'Here Comes The Zimmer' did not make it into Rick's top 3. I am glad now that I did not post my alternative suggestion: 'Limp boys'.

Jackie on 19:56 9th-Jan-02 GMT #455-11900
Did I win the tshirt?! Sorry Cliff but I keep laughing at the thought of some of these alternative titles, a good laugh always does you good I think! Can anyone other than me remember the corniest joke Undertones competition in Smash Hits, I think, a LONG time ago- the joke that made the band laugh the most won the prize (seriously!) I can't recall what the prize was but I did enter about 10 times- alas didnt win. Still can't tell a joke well. Perhaps the boys could judge our alternative title competition?!

Jackie on 20:04 9th-Jan-02 GMT #455-11901
Sorry, men !

Lindsay on 21:01 9th-Jan-02 GMT #67e-11903
You did indeed beat me Jackie (although I've heard entering competitions more than once is your speciality!). Shame Cliff's t-shirts are of such excellent quality and not prone to shrinking, otherwise Dominic would possess another ill-fitting t-shirt after an 'unfortunate', 'accidental' beer spillage at the next gig;-)

Mark on 22:20 9th-Jan-02 GMT #b83-11904
How about 'Here comes Osama'or 'Euro Welcome'. God, isn't boredom wonderful.

donald on 22:54 9th-Jan-02 GMT #e46-11905
Been out of action for a while with the flu (male=bad cold). Enjoyed reading the song titles - 'Got a hairy back' is a beauty. I can understand if people are worried about a new album. Although I was desperate to hear the new songs last month, I was worried in case they really weren't up to the standard. After hearing them I have no doubt whatsoever that an LP is a great idea. It would be criminal if these songs weren't released.

donald on 23:00 9th-Jan-02 GMT #e46-11906
An LP release is a win win situation. Hopefully it will allow a new audience to hear great songs by a great band. There's been plenty of people at the gigs who are too young to have seen them 1st time around. It can also capitalise on the release and press interest in Vinny's film.It also give us saddoes another record to collect. The main thing is the tracks I have heard are really top quality Undertones tunes and nothing else (such as age) matters.

donald on 23:08 9th-Jan-02 GMT #e46-11907
I dont think old songs should be included. The originals cant be bettered so why do them again. Its great the band are writing new songs proving that this is defintely not just a 'nostalgia' trip.Great news indeed. PS Bit worried about the hidden satanic meanings in Cliff and Rick's messages. If you read their postings backwards they spell 'kill your mother' and 'Satan Satan Satan' as the Butthole Surfers would say.

Donald on 23:11 9th-Jan-02 GMT #e46-11908
Did you hear about the dyslexic devil worshipper? He sold his soul to Santa!! C'mon I have to get my posting up, Ive been taken over by a girlie.

George on 23:49 9th-Jan-02 GMT #4d2-11909
Donald just look upon the girlies on this site like the talking donkey in Shrek where the biggest problem is getting the blooming thing to shut up! Not be long before Lindsay and Jackie will be 2 and 3 in postings. Cliff will still be way out in front though.
