Musings
Cliff, L7. Julius, Mull Historical Society. Next... Adrian on 09:12 18th-Jan-02 GMT #ea8-12056 Maybe you could try listening to B.R.M.C. and any White Stripes album before deciding who's best in the 'Ass kicking'competition. Adrian on 09:27 18th-Jan-02 GMT #ea8-12057 By the way,it was L7 on The Word not The Tube. Arthur on 10:38 18th-Jan-02 GMT #29f-12058 Julius - The name of the band is Mull Historical Society - I've got the album and it's well worth investigating. As for good new music what about I Am Kloot. There is a lot of good music out there. Lee on 12:42 18th-Jan-02 GMT #fb0-12059 Friends on the tele - I grew up with Alan Smith, the Leicester, Arsenal and England cenre forward and used to get together with him regularly until about 8 years ago when we sort of lost touch. I keep seeing Adrian Goldberg as a presenter on some programme or other (some sort of consumer rights programme on around 7.30'ish in England ???). I always remember him as he was the head boy at our school in '77 and appeared one day totally out of head boy character with purple hair. Being an old style grammar school he got sent home immediately and wasn't allowed back until he had it dyed back to something like it's old colour. I think he then never washed it again and looked worse. babychamfan @ on 14:50 18th-Jan-02 GMT #7df-12060 iam im love with him donald on 15:33 18th-Jan-02 GMT #e46-12061 Received a mail from an old friend from Uni yesterday with a copy from The Times 2nd January- Headline 'Boy who turned into a Tartan taliban'. His old flatmate who was completely off his trolley has been arrested in Afganistan and Jim is now known as Mohammed.I feel sorry for him as was very unstable and had a complete breakdown in the 80's.Life's strange. Cliff on 16:28 18th-Jan-02 GMT #34e-12062 Adrian Goldberg is an Albion fan.So are Adrian Childs, Frank Skinner,Eric Clapton, Lenny Henry,Anne Aston(remember her?)and of course....Cliff Crancher. ©® on 16:45 18th-Jan-02 GMT #f3a-12063 The L7 incident on The Word was a great live tv moment, but my favourite was when Jimbob (or Fruitbat? can't remember now) of Carter USM rugby-tackled Pippy Schofield live on the Smash Hits awards at the end of playing Sheriff Fatman. Having just lost all credibility by appearing on that show at all, they won it back ten-fold in that instant. Respect. ©® on 16:51 18th-Jan-02 GMT #f3a-12064 Cliff have you read Skinner's autobiography yet? Teacher: 'Who is the most important person in your world?' Frank: 'Jeff Astle!' OK I guess you had to be there, but trust me it's funny :o) Cliff on 16:53 18th-Jan-02 GMT #34e-12065 Blimey, look at the new Undertones range on ebay! Obviously the merchandising department are branching out big time, is this to coincide with the release of a new album? What am I talking about? you can now buy 'UNDERTONES panties in pink, yellow, white and orange. One pair of green fishnet stockings from #1950 Warm and Wonderful'.Maybe these are for the female fans to throw at Paul(VTU)? Cliff on 16:56 18th-Jan-02 GMT #34e-12066 Don't see whats funny about that CR, thought it was a well known fact.;-))...(or was it Cyrille Regis?) Tee on 17:57 18th-Jan-02 GMT #63f-12067 Fishnet stockings to throw at paul(VTU)?...he's got a fantastic voice but somehow the imagination isnt stretching.. p2: on 18:00 18th-Jan-02 GMT #08b-12068 The Rezillos reformed to play a one-off gig in Edinburgh at New Year. Did anyone looking in here happen to see them? It would be great to hear that they were really good... p2 on 18:04 18th-Jan-02 GMT #08b-12069 'L7's Private bits' - if I remember, they were not at all private. Cliff on 20:39 18th-Jan-02 GMT #f3a-12073 Think we've been down this road before Wilke but quite a few people have become regulars since, so lets go again!! Mine would be 'Hello Hello I'm Back again' I think, followed by all GG stuff.also saw the Rubettes live when I was 14.They were excellent actually and my first taste of fast loud music played live.Judging by Damians beret in the early 80's he might have been a closet Rubettes fan also. Cliff on 20:40 18th-Jan-02 GMT #f3a-12074 To bloody right they should Vinny!! Wilke, are you able to do it? WILL IT BE NEW STUFF?? Jackie on 21:44 18th-Jan-02 GMT #455-12076 Great minds- my first record was GG- 'I Love you love me love.' I was 7. Didnt buy it myself. First live band I ever saw was ..the Undertones April 1980! Just for Wilke I'm about to send some Dublin pics to CMoS. I've also dug out of the jackie archives 3 great photos live from 1979 and 4 brilliant ones of JON on stage at Guildford in 1981. He has his tongue out in concentration on two of them (cute). Nice line in footware too. I hope CMoS doesnt mind them taking all night to download- I'll apologise in advance. wilke @ on 22:14 18th-Jan-02 GMT #0b8-12077 cliff just got of the phone with vinny the show is live the tones are doing two song`s teenage kicks and a new song not sure which one will tape it and try to get a copy for you ok ps jackie are you sure i was bopping in the bar i cant seem to recall what i did after the gig ???? well heres to the next time we all meet up donald on 22:26 18th-Jan-02 GMT #e46-12078 Wilke you were dancing on the tables.
