Thanks Henry, it was a 'stick on' penalty as Atkinson would say.As for 'wade through its entirety'...have you been taking those posh pills again? Cliff on 09:43 27th-Jan-02 GMT #6ce-12293 Interesting after that talk of Mike Hedges and A1, in the article 'The Undertones: A Look Back - May 1, 2001 - Ralph Heibutzki' John O'Neill says he 'grew to loathe him' and blames him for the failure of SOP. Steve on 10:08 27th-Jan-02 GMT #e5c-12295 Anyone here remember the June Brides? Well they are reforming for a couple of gigs this year, but the bass player and Drummer cannot make it so one Damien O'Neill and Ciaran Mclaughlin are stepping in to help out. Dates are to be announced soon. henry on 11:54 27th-Jan-02 GMT #134-12296 Cliff- your ability to find a directly relevant quotation from an Undertone suggests that you have already waded through the 'in-print' links in their entirety that or your depth of knowledge is truly awesome. Do you think someone should let A1 know that their already sad lives are likely to take a turn for the worse (no!). As for the June Brides there are eight million stories about them Lindsay on 12:52 27th-Jan-02 GMT #7ed-12297 Just returned from Blackpool. God us Northerners have to be hardy. Vinny, York Cityscreen is in a fantastic location, right in the centre overlooking the river. Shows a lot of independent films as well as the usual - apparently, as I've only ever been in the bar/cafe! Any clues as to location in Sheffield? Nice to see the younger generation appreciate a song on its merits and not on the 'coolness/credibility' of the band in question. donald on 15:37 27th-Jan-02 GMT #e46-12298 Cliff, you would be proud - I went to afootball game yesterday.Inverness Caledonian Thistle (longest name in any league for you football trivia saddos out there) VS Hearts. I only went cos I tok my son and my friend and his son were coming down from Inverness for it. 3-1 to Caley Cup shock. the biggest shock is , i quite enjoyed it! I also bought a power drill the weekend , maybe Im turning into a real man after al these years. donald on 15:39 27th-Jan-02 GMT #e46-12299 Vinny- The Filmhouse in Edinburgh is also a brilliant venue, large 3 or 4 screen Arthouse cinema bang in the middle of town. It has a very good reputation and is one the main venues for the Film Festival in August. Tres trendy. Lindsay on 15:51 27th-Jan-02 GMT #f08-12300 Interesting conspiracy theory Henry. I've heard Simon Cowell plays the triangle on each of his artistes songs so he gets royalties every time they get played on the radio. However not all boybands get airplay, lack of it is what sunk 911 - although better songs would have helped! - and will sadly sink Lee's solo effort in a week's time (not such a bad song) but at least he's getting royalities for co-writing Blue's last no.1 everytime it gets played. I entirely agree with CR's comments recently - playlists are destroying music. Who the hell decided on that awful Uncle Cracker 'follow me' song should be shot. Someone's made a fortune on that one. Lindsay on 15:54 27th-Jan-02 GMT #f08-12301 Hope Mike Hedges has learned from past mistakes. Difficult to know what went on in the production of SOP but I personally think the production on it is better than PT. Dare I say it, perhaps the songs just weren't right for the times. Lindsay on 15:57 27th-Jan-02 GMT #f08-12302 Be careful with the power drill Donald or you may end up not being a real man after all (more like a real Action Man!). Jackie on 17:20 27th-Jan-02 GMT #455-12303 Just played the A+B sides CD. Sounded excellent, especially the early bsides which I havent heard for ages. David had never heard some of them. Cliff on 18:12 27th-Jan-02 GMT #815-12304 'Really Really' 'top 20' 'smarter than you' 'Mars Bars' and several others would grace many an album, but to The Undertones they're just about 'B' side material ;-)) Cliff on 18:14 27th-Jan-02 GMT #815-12305 I'm proud of you Donald, we'll make a man of you yet.Now lets get to work on CMoS(B&HA),Dave R(Northampton Town)and Wilke(Derry City). Lee on 20:59 27th-Jan-02 GMT #b90-12306 Is it too early to get excited Cliff ? Cheltenham Town for a place in the last 8 ! Lee on 21:02 27th-Jan-02 GMT #b90-12307 Have I got a solo single out ? Can't wait for the royalties. Cliff on 21:05 27th-Jan-02 GMT #9f9-12308 Cheltenham bloody town at home!!!!!!! that'll do, oh thank you lord ;-)) ;-)) ;-)) Julius on 21:43 27th-Jan-02 GMT #368-12309 It is the B-sides that decide whether a band is great or just good. To my humble opinion bands with great B-sides are the Undertones, The Moondogs, The Jam and recently Kenickie, It just shows great craftmanship in songwriting! Wilke, I will look for Days in Europa!! Had a great footbalweekend as my favourite German team Schalke 04 beat Bayern Munich 5-1!!! A coach full goes every weekend from my village in Holland to see Schalke!! Arthur on 22:10 27th-Jan-02 GMT #d12-12310 Well my favourite English football team just beat Ipswich Town 4-1 away. Not only that but they dominated the game and played some exceptional football. I'm in a bit of shock actually - I'd heard good reports but this was something else not the usual parcel of shite you expect when watching City but brilliant anyway. Well done King Kev. Sat watching the draw thinking, please not Newcastle away... One of the June Brides 'Phil Wilson' is on that German compilation album. Arthur on 22:11 27th-Jan-02 GMT #d12-12311 If only I'd put a tenner on them... CMoS on 22:44 27th-Jan-02 GMT #2ca-12312 A+B sides means you heard 'Kiss In The Dark'. What day is th eFree ASH CD in the Sun ? CMoS on 22:46 27th-Jan-02 GMT #2ca-12313 Had to laugh (again) during WHigh-FidelityW when they confuse WGreen DayW fans by putting on WSLF'sW WSuspect deviceW - the laugh is he goes to get WImflammable materialW and plays the single versiuon ! wilke @ on 00:00 28th-Jan-02 GMT #0e7-12314 well t`s late sunday night just got back from the kick boxing comp son came 3 daughter came1 great stuff .cliff me go to a football match idont think so donald what are you up to we none football people must stick together ok see ya wilke @ on 00:03 28th-Jan-02 GMT #0e7-12315 julius thanks let`s hope you in luck .see ya
