I dont believe it - trashing KITD - its beautifully constructed with an obtuse rhyhthm - pitch change - and nivce verbalk fencing. If that was an off day for the them i wish i could be only as good as that.

I think the CD George is referring to was on eBay recently. It's actually a CDR of the stuff George mentioned (In Concert 19.4.80 / OGWT 6.3.79). I think it was also listed as having 'Demo 78' on it (which is actually the first Peel session from October 1978), plus the 'Private tape' Peel session from December 1980. I'll take the anorak off now...

I love 'Let's Talk About Girls' As for 'Kiss in The Dark' it always struck me as being clever rather than brilliant if you know what I mean.

Sorry Cliff - it seems to be a disagree with Cliff day today ! Kiss in the Dark is, in my opinion, one if not the worst track the band did. Let's Talk About Girls however is wonderful (Sorry Lindsay).

And while disagreeing - I'd not taken the England v Ireland football comments seriously until all the replies have come in. Surely no-one can doubt that England (and I speak as an Englishman for those that might not know me) were unconvincing winners of their group. I'm sure with 90 seconds to go you were not feeling too good about the World Cup Cliff. On the other hand Ireland were not given a chance when the draw was made. They came out of the qualifying group of death with more than their fair share of credit. Let's wait and see what England do before we get cocky ! Sessions as listed on the official site - 16-10-78 (Get Over You, Top 20...), 11-6-79 (Top 20, Whizz Kids...), 9-12-80 (Positive Touch, You're Welcome....) and 26-8-81 (Bye Bye Baby Blue....) and also if anyone has the alternative version of Bye Bye Baby Blue rather than the album version (Was it a B-side I can't remember) I think that would make my collection complete. Teenage Kicks - GOT4. I see someone has bid a staggering £34.50 for this on ebay today. Seems way overpriced to me. I paid £10 a few years ago which seemed a fair price. Anyone bought a copy recently? My previous copy, obtained mail order from Terri Hooley at normal retail price (complete with extra fold out sleeve courtesy of Mr H) was knicked after my sister took it to a party to play! (She was meant to take the Sire version). I was devastated at the time, and took years to find a replacement. That one's going nowhere!

The current ebay auction also lists 'New Undertones bras', cup 40B, for £1. Now that's what I call a bargain! Anyone going to bid?

Donald - Yes, the CD will be a home made affair. The stuff on it has been circulating for a while, but none of it has been released officially. The 'Private tape' tracks are the early versions of 'Positive Touch' material. Good Vibrations 'Teenage Kicks' currently standing at £34?! I guess an item is only worth what someone will pay for it - I think it's panic buying. The same used to happen with stuff by The Jam, but the bottom seems to have dropped out of the market.

Dave is right on the CD There are other CDs and a video available as well from the seller. The quality is very good. Batter than listening to a tape but not as good as an 'official' release.

I know referring to Ireland as a home nation is not politically correct, but I wish them well at the end of the day. I watched most of their qualifying matches on TV. The majority of their players earn their living in the English leagues, including three at Sunderland. Any chances of the band lining up concerts to take in the film venues. The film can be the support act followed by the real thing.

I really love the bsides CD-I was in a fed up mood on Sunday and David pressed a button on the hifi remote and True Confessions started up, when I had finished laughing my mood was 1000 times better. Still my favourite b side. REM used to always have good value for money Bsides. Until they went global.

After my true confessions hit I mentioned to David about the film showing at Newcastle, he then asked who was coming up for it!! I said it didnt matter as it was being shown everywhere but the offers open!
