Cliff,Enter the Moondogs site... Lefthand side..Red colum. 5th item down...(Sounds).Double click on it. How's things ye all?

Lindsay on 09:08 1st-Feb-02 GMT #803-12401
Alex, wish I did have a few quid invested but alas no. It's just the song I like (honest!) and they have been going for over four years now despite winning best newcomers last year (isn't that just typical Brits 'logic'!). TV Stars was brilliantly mad live but RJ refused to perform it after the early tours because he thought it was silly and ruined the band's (or should I say his) credibility - ie. it had no clever words in it. Albert Tatlock der der der der der der....

Lee on 12:49 1st-Feb-02 GMT #fb0-12402
Just phoned Ticketmaster re Hackney. It was a bad start when the telephonist had to ask 'The Undertones - is that the name of the band ?' but it then got worse as they checked every system they had - none of which recognised that they had taken my £20. Finally they found out that they still expect it to be rescheduled for March but didn't know when.

ANON on 16:46 1st-Feb-02 GMT #2e3-12403
I'm not trying to stir it up but I'd heard thru a contact that the Ocean gig will NOT happen at all so don't build your hopes up. Would one of the band confirm/deny this and put it away for good?

Vinny on 14:53 1st-Feb-02 GMT [www.qub.ac.uk/qft/films/undertones.html] #2e3-12404
Have a look at the link for the screenings in Belfast

Cliff on 17:23 1st-Feb-02 GMT #8e1-12405
Thanks Gerry, things are good, would be even better if you confirmed a gig with The Undertones some time this year?? In fact, even a gig in London without The Undertones would be nice.(blimey did I really say that?!!).

Lindsay on 17:32 1st-Feb-02 GMT #258-12406
Stupid telephonist, eh Lee. Teletext today listed the events The Ocean has planned for it's first birthday in March and sadly there's no mention of our favourite band. I think Anon could be right. Been to York today and the river is flooding (nothing new there then). Fortunately the Cityscreen is well above the floodline. PS. Nice of you to sign off with Lots Of Love Alex. We didn't know you cared!

Cliff on 17:33 1st-Feb-02 GMT #8e1-12407
apparently,as stated below by ANON, the Ocean gig is NOT gonna happen. Its disappointing but I'm still buzzing about the possible album so its not the end of the world.I'm confident gigs will be happening this year and many of you will have the film to watch 'at a cinema near you' soon enough.Hey,lets get things into perspective, its been a fantastic last 2 years if you're an ageing humdinger.(or even one of those female ones that look the same as you did 20 years ago ;-)).

Lindsay on 17:34 1st-Feb-02 GMT #258-12408
Hear, hear Cliff. Any chance Gerry?

Lindsay on 17:36 1st-Feb-02 GMT #258-12409
Cliff our messages crossed but hear, hear again I say (about the young bit this time)!

Cliff on 17:49 1st-Feb-02 GMT #8e1-12410
Didn't say you looked young...just the same as you did 20 years ago.

JULIUS: Any news for me from Rotterdam? Did you go to any of the screenings of TEENAGE KICKS? I was looking at that Canal Plus Ratings thing in the website, what's that all about? I'm only sorry I couldn't make it and see what this festival's like. Let me know if you get any reviews. On the England and Scotland screenings, we're 99% there with the list, nearly all confirmed now.

Lindsay on 21:42 1st-Feb-02 GMT #ae2-12416
Talk about keeping us in a heightened state of suspense Vinny - you've got us gagging for it! (in a manner of speaking). Still, it's fun guessing. Sheffield Showroom???

Vinny on 22:08 1st-Feb-02 GMT #d12-12417
Lindsay,I was taught by the best, Cliff. Sheffield: The Showroom, yes! 10 POINTS, TOP OF THE CLASS!!

Cliff on 22:13 1st-Feb-02 GMT #b1e-12418
The best?? get away with ya Vinny.I'm better than that.

AlexD on 22:20 1st-Feb-02 GMT #ec2-12419
You know I do really Lindsay

Cliff on 22:29 1st-Feb-02 GMT #b1e-12420
Arthur, you going on 15/16 Feb?

Cliff on 22:35 1st-Feb-02 GMT #b1e-12421
The pictures of the band sitting on the wall in Bull Park with John Peel are historically incorrect. They are sitting above the words 'The Undertones' but in fact the original photo was taken several yards away to the left(looking at the wall).I'm 99% sure of this and that fact alone makes me a very, very sad bloke.

Cliff on 23:09 1st-Feb-02 GMT #304-12422
'Deeper than this' is excellent, cool and groovy as the kids of today would probably say.As with most other Moondogs stuff it has a great tune.Sort of Beatles like,IMO.

Julius on 23:37 1st-Feb-02 GMT #2fa-12423
Vinny, Canal Plus is a TVstation here in Holland and they do a poll under the visitors in Rotterdam how they like the films(ranking 1 to 5), Teenage Kicks is 92 in the top200 with an average ranking of 3.75 but it is all very close and a few good marks at tomorrow night's screening will lift it higher up in this chart. I'll let you know!

Julius on 23:38 1st-Feb-02 GMT [www.rte.ie/radio/rattlebag/top75.html] #2fa-12424
Check out this website for an other rating of 'Teenage Kicks' in the best 75 Irish songs ever as choosen this time by listeners of RTE radio One in Ireland. Thanks to Leo Saw Doctor for this link!:
