Musings
Vinny/Arthur - I did a bit of searching on the web, came across the above website, followed the community directory on the menu for places outside London and discovered the Sheffield Irish Forum is practically next door to the Showroom Cinema. Maybe you’ve already looked into this as if you scroll right down to Jan 27 there’s a report about the film which appears to be a general press release (no dates/timings etc given) but if not sending a poster to the Sheffield address surely wouldn't do any harm and there's addresses for Manchester, Coventry and Leicester on there too. Lindsay on 11:22 17th-Mar-02 GMT #433-13337 Happy St.Patrick's Day by the way. What are you all planning on doing or is that a silly question! wilke @ on 16:49 17th-Mar-02 GMT #550-13339 hello. well lindasy i will take the kids out all day then myself and maureen will hit the town tonight to have a drink or two .the trip to scotland to see the film looks like it`s not going to happen now a few things have come up will have to wait for the video to come out .to all out there have a great ST PADDYS DAY see ya ©® on 19:17 17th-Mar-02 GMT #bc8-13340 Went yesterday to the first of 4 screenings of Teenage Kicks at the Watershed Media Centre in Bristol. I should point out that, as far as I could tell, there was virtually NO publicity, not even a poster at the venue itself. Anyway, the film was being shown not in the main cinema but in a small room called the Digital Cafe, which seated about 30. The 1st show kicked off at 5.45pm (an odd time) and there were about 20 of us. But when I came out it looked like there were more people lined up for the next session at 7.15. The film is excellent, the audience obviously enjoyed it & there was even a small ripple of applause at the end. So good work Vinny! But I couldn’t help wondering how many hundreds (thousands??) of people in the Greater Bristol area might have jumped at the chance to see this if only they knew about it.
