Lindsay, its nice to know someone reads my messages!I'll bet no one went to the gig though.Liam, you and I should have a pint sometime,I've upset a couple of people on here b4 myself, don't mention the war! ©® on 08:24 2nd-Apr-02 GMT #8a9-13642 Jetplane Landing's recent single 'Summer Ends' is top. Sounds a bit early Elvis Costello-esque, I think. Talking of missing lobsters, anyone remember that Derek & Clive sketch about Jane Mansfield's bum?☺ Lord Longford gives me the f@ckin 'orn! ©® on 08:26 2nd-Apr-02 GMT #8a9-13643 Anyone happen to know when & what track(s) the Undertones recorded at Rockfield Studios? (you there Dave R? or Billy?) CMos on 08:44 2nd-Apr-02 GMT #a5b-13644 Yes Vinny ! Cliff yur catering knowledge astounds me- i did try to find a deep fried MB but had to use the cob instead. Cactus on 09:22 2nd-Apr-02 GMT #3e8-13645 So I didn't need to run out and buy a new monitor after all? donald on 11:04 2nd-Apr-02 GMT #e46-13647 Back almost in 1 piece from 2 weeks in states, thankfully didnt find it as boring as Strummer. DAVE R ALERT!!- Did get a US release CD of 'The Very Best of the Undertones' (surprisingly not a 4 CD box set). Its the one with the writing inside from 'Lesley Wesley' (Billy Docherty DTU?) . Its got a lobster cover and a flap over insert for the USA saying '25 tracks including all their great singles. The Undertones stormed out of Ireland with a perfect 3 chord sound and manic energy that has come to define 'punk pop' for a generation of followers like Green Day and Offspring. Including such gems as 'HCTS', IGTH' MPC' TK and many more of their chart topping UK hits.' Rykodisc RCD 20297, . 1994 donald on 11:07 2nd-Apr-02 GMT #e46-13648 Only 1 copy or I would have got you one Dave although I expect you probably have the white label USA promo! I'll send it to you if you want the details. CR - The popes nasal hair gives me the horn. Dave R on 12:35 2nd-Apr-02 GMT #f08-13649 Got my name mentioned twice in one day - that's enough to entice even the most reclusive anorak from retirement! CR - what Rockfield Studios stuff?! Donald - yep, I have the US 'Best Of'. Much better packaging (in my opinion) than the UK version. As for the white label USA promo... ©® on 15:08 2nd-Apr-02 GMT [www.rockfieldstudios.com/clients.html] #61f-13650 Dave, check the link. Rockfield 'claim' the Undertones amongst their illustrious clients in the 80s. Most of the TPE albums namecheck the studio but no mention on any Tones records. Probably Sin Of Pride? Just wondered like. Donald welcome back, EVERYTHING gives me the horn mate. Except my wife Val. And Jesus. ©® on 15:20 2nd-Apr-02 GMT #a52-13651 I should point out, for legal reasons and in case my girlfriend reads this site (highly unlikely), that I'm not in fact married and 'my wife Val' is merely a figment of the late Dudley Moore's imagination. And she has a knob. Dud on 16:56 2nd-Apr-02 GMT #2a9-13654 Yeah but I bet the thought of Valerie as Jesus (with a knob) gives you the horn. Rick on 16:36 2nd-Apr-02 GMT #2a9-13655 Yeah but I bet the thought of Valerie as Jesus (with a knob) gives you the horn though. wilke @ on 17:59 2nd-Apr-02 GMT #744-13656 welcome back donald did you get to see any good bands when you were over there?? wife and two of the kids going on a school trip tomorrow for 9 days leaving me with the other two age 11 and 5 so roll on saturday night baby sitter line up bars open drink flowing . talk soon see ya George on 22:18 2nd-Apr-02 GMT #08b-13659 CMoS You'll have to give me a clue on the background. It is irritating though. Is it modern art! Some future exhibit from the tate by Damian Hurst! Lindsay on 22:54 2nd-Apr-02 GMT #2bd-13660 CMoS - isn't it a sort of negative image of part of a letter in the undertones red-arrow logo? The bits flying off the outside remind me of it. Please say I'm right so we can have the lobsters back now.
