My first 6 months or so on this site sent me back to that golden era revisiting my passion for the Undertones with first the cd versions and the extra Sin of Pride tracks and then the numerous bootlegs a number of you kindly sent me. Lately, it's been more sending me back to that time with stuff I never fully appreciated at the time. As a 16 year old in 1979 my budget limited me a bit so I never bought albums by many bands who issued great singles. Can you believe last night I had my first listen in probably 25 years to The Skids Scared to Dance (Thanks Steve!). What a great album. Can't believe I missed it all those years ago. Keep it coming you lot!

It would be quite intriguing to see how Celtic and Rangers fared in England. I haven't seen much Scottish football. Can only go on the Champions League results where they haven't done too well - but until this year when they all got through to the later stages neither have the supposed cream of Englands teams IMO. Can't imagine what it would do to the rest of the Scottish League teams financially. Maybe it's time for a set of combined Leagues with Ireland too.

As someone who hatesfootball I cant resist a bit of stirring.Sean if there is no link between football in Ireland and britain, why do busloads of supporters travel from Ireland (North and South ) every saturday heading for Ibrox or Celtic park? Dont see that many French or Italians but maybe they have more sense and are not so interested in supporting teams beacuse of religious bollocks.

A prat a couple of weeks ago and now stupid. I'm doing well. I actually started that message as I was leaving work but as I typed loads of other stuff it got heavier and heavier and just got out of hand so I deleted most of it. Should have deleted the whole lot.

I think seeing the Pistols in London sounds toogood to miss. I thought the last tour would be like a pantomine but they really kicked ass. Hopefully can work it in around the holidays.(in the sun).

I will be seeing Ireland play at the Stadium of Light next Tuesday. Hopefully there won't be too many injuries. Newspapers seem to be full of them at the moment. I seem to be buying quite a few CDs and records now that for some strange reason I chose not to buy when originally released in the 80's. Has anyone got their record collection stored on a database? I hope to do a similar exercise, using Microsoft Access. Any help would be appreciated.

George - sad I know but I've got mine on an excel database so I could tell someone in Norway what I'd got so we could swap a few things.

That really is extremely sad Lee and George.Half the fun when someone asks for a record is spending ages looking for it and finding and playing all the other stuff you forgot you had. A database would take all the fun out of it. Advice George - get out more mate :-))

Donald - I know - but as per my message I did it because I'd been sent some cd's by Espen in Norway who often comes here and happily sent me his list. I couldn't just ask him to pop by and choose a few things from my collection so I started my list. The saddest part though is once started it became addictive - started with cd's, added vinyl albums, cassettes video's, then added the rest of the families stuff, including the kids. Suddenly the file is a 2mb file - and I've still got the singles and loads of video's to add!

Alex, I don't like the idea of Celtic & Rangers joining the English league.The main reason is that the Scottish league really becomes a nonsense without them.If Hearts for example 'won' the new Scottish league what have they really achieved? Its such a shame that the likes of Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen, Kilmarnock and the Dundees could be in a pointless league.As much as I love football the money is killing it.In the past when any of these teams won the league part of the glory was getting one up on the big two, that would be gone forever.

As for how well Celtic & Rangers would do in the prem? the difference is they would have difficult games EVERY week.Yes Celtic have had some good recent results against English clubs but they are one off matches.Could they do it week in and week out? John Hartson was never a top premiership player, and I don't think Larson(spelling?) is really a top player.At present I'd go for Celtic half way and Rangers just off the relegation zone.

Not quite sure what to do about the summer gigs yet.I'm tempted to get a flight Stansted-Shannon to take in Galway and Limerick and forget the Oldcastle gig.Hate the thought of flying home the same day as a gig but such is life.
