Musings
I was planning to go the The Undertones gig on the 27th July in Oldcastle. But have just found out that the Sex Pistols are to play on the same date in London. Spoiled for choice or what? London here I come. See the site for details. http://www.sex-pistols.net Sean on 20:32 10th-May-02 GMT #0f4-14416 Why Ireland Lee? Why not France or Germany. Ireland is no more part of Britain than either of them. Don't be so patronising. Sean on 20:32 10th-May-02 GMT #355-14419 Donald. I wholeheartedly agree - supporting any team based on some idiotic religious basis is almost as stupid as Lee. Edith @ on 20:32 10th-May-02 GMT #9e0-14425 Why the Lobsters? Petre the lurker on 20:32 10th-May-02 GMT #934-14428 George, although it's far too much effort to do I have thought about it. If memory serves me right there is a template set up already to do books, which is pretty similar. It might be in excel though, as I haven't a clue about Access. I'll have a look on my work pc tomoorow, which is about 10 years newer than my home one (having being 'rescued' when my old firm were upgrading) doninblack on 10:17 10th-May-02 GMT #bde-14453 So Vinny, are there any Undertones fans in Cardiff? Did you get a turnout? VINNY on 10:18 10th-May-02 GMT #51d-14454 Haven't a clue about Cardiff. Still awaiting receipts from there. CLIFF: I'm trying to send you a message but my emails are not going out for some reason. Try later. Jackie on 11:32 10th-May-02 GMT #209-14455 I thought about 95% of the top 100 were dross. I did see that teenage kicks made it. But thats half the fun of compiling lists- thinking your list is better than anyone elses. Noone could include Beatles songs. Where was all the soul music? And only two punk songs?? It tells us a lot about the people who voted. Lee on 12:44 10th-May-02 GMT #fb0-14456 So what were the top 5 best singles of all time in the chart and why could noone vote for Beatles songs? Surely you have to include everything even if it does mean the No 1 is always the same. Vinny on 15:05 10th-May-02 GMT #ec0-14457 Alex and Co: I am gonna be in Glasgow for the Thursday 30 May screening but more importantly so might an Undertone!!To be confirmed later. Can you let me know which local papers are best to start sending info to?It's a 6.30pm screening apparently. Martin @ on 20:33 10th-May-02 GMT #ce1-14458 If any of you are planning on going to the QPR v Celtic friendly match on July 13th and want to have an Undertones type chat in the pub before the game drop me an e-mail. I'm a QPR fan (the REAL Rangers!) and I'll probably also be at the Wycombe Wanderers v Celtic game (10th or 11th July - still to be confirmed). I saw the 'tones 4 times from 1979 to 1983 and a beer and a reminise will go down well! Martin AlexD on 16:18 10th-May-02 GMT #611-14459 Your just a big tease Vinny !! I've sent you a couple of links and some info. Vinny on 16:42 10th-May-02 GMT #529-14460 All being well, it'll be John O'Neill, his wife and myself at Glasgow.Got a flight from Belfast with GO FLY for £30 return!Talk later. Vinny on 16:43 10th-May-02 GMT #529-14461 Thanks AlexD: Got that email Mike on 20:33 10th-May-02 GMT #674-14462 How sad are you Martin. Searching message boards for a wee friend. Get a life guy. AlexD on 18:16 10th-May-02 GMT #9f4-14464 I would have called it being friendly. Thanks Martin. wilke @ on 18:46 10th-May-02 GMT #8a9-14465 hi can some one please tell me how to change the e mail above my posting as it is a@ b.c and i can not seem to send any e mails with it thanks just of now to book some were in galway for the night of the gig talk soon see ya AlexD on 18:56 10th-May-02 GMT #bab-14466 Donald, donin, are you going to any gigs? I've booked my ticket for the film on the 30th, don't be scared of the Big city I'll look after you !! donin, no orange juice this time unless there's a family size vodka in it. Lee on 20:36 10th-May-02 GMT #ce9-14468 Speaking of Orange Juice - anyone heard anything of Edwyn Collins new stuff? CMoS on 20:40 10th-May-02 GMT #2ca-14469 I'm probably sadder george I have my collection on the web so i can browse them anytime. Most web hosts will provide you with SQL (sorry cliff that its name its not an abbreviation) in this case MySQL. Excel is basically a 'flatfile' database an access is a lot of gumpf around simple SQL. CMoS on 20:41 10th-May-02 GMT #2ca-14470 Actually iuts gets sadder i'll be wtching the first 40 mins of 'AOTC' tonight George on 21:01 10th-May-02 GMT #96d-14471 Apologies for being ignorant but whats AOTC. Currently listening to the Ramones It's Alive. 28 songs in just over 50 minutes. Should have gone to see the punk tribute band but being lazy. AlexD on 21:08 10th-May-02 GMT #92a-14472 CMoS I have a link to this page on my desktop, any chance of a wee lobster icon? You want sad? I got it!! Cliff on 21:42 10th-May-02 GMT #080-14474 QP bloody R...broke my heart in '82, never forgiven them fot that.Anyway, welcome to the list Martin. Cliff on 21:58 10th-May-02 GMT #080-14475 I could be tempted to that screening in Glasgow. From Stansted its only £32 and I'd be back at work next day in plenty of time. It's about time I saw the film on the big screen again, I've forgotten some of the words.Be good to have a drink with some of you foreigners again.Where you staying Vinny? Cliff on 22:12 10th-May-02 GMT #964-14476 Watching Channel 4 tonight they were advertising a season of summer films all with a teenage theme. So what have they decided to call it?....the 'teenage kicks' season of course. Is it just my imagination or is Undertones related stuff being used more since the band reformed? It seems to be fairly regular now. AlexD on 22:34 10th-May-02 GMT #92a-14478 Cliff all you need is a ginger wig and couple of chib marks. Don't forget your passport, cause I can flog that for a few quid once the two Dons take you up the Highlands (ouch) and play hide the haggis !! Vinny on 22:55 10th-May-02 GMT #c3a-14479 Cliff: Won't know until Mon about hotel. Do come to Glasgow. Wilke: Who do you pay for internet access? If I know this I'll sort ye out with an email address etc. Get in touch tomorrow (sat) sometime. doninblack on 23:03 10th-May-02 GMT #e4a-14480 Vinny, great news. See you there for a malt or several. Cliff, before you get lost in the Highlands, you could also take in The Stuart Adamson Memorial gig at Barrowland the following night (Fri). Are you tempted? Vinny on 23:03 10th-May-02 GMT [www.thewarwick.com/index.htm] #c3a-14481 Here's the link to The Warwick in Galway doninblack on 23:07 10th-May-02 GMT #e4a-14482 Alex, don't know yet if I'll be going over for the gigs. Are you? Maybe John will bring his guitar with him to Glasgow, and then if he brought some of his old school mates we could get ourselves a gig sorted! Simple really. AlexD on 23:58 10th-May-02 GMT #397-14483 donin, I'm seriously thinking of doing the 3 gigs.I know this might result in stalker litigation, but it's either that or go to NY and stay with my extremely wealthy mate (freebie) and his wife(ex-Miss Jamaica). Gotta be the 'Tones I suppose. wilke @ on 00:19 11th-May-02 GMT #8a9-14484 hello.vinny thanks but i seem to have sorted the e mail problem .booked the warwick tonight 58 euros per person per night. talk soon see ya
