GEORGE et al: that's what I tried to do on EBAY but you have to be registered for 60 days or something? For selling 'multiple items'. I wanna sell 100 as soon as possible at a set price.

Arthur on 11:22 12th-Jun-02 GMT #29f-15092
I don't mind the England football team. They played brilliantly against Argentina and deserved to win. They did enough to qualify today so congratulations. That said I cannot stand the English media - from being terrible against Sweden to World beaters after their victory against Argentina - bad losers and ungracious victors. I've just heard them dismising Denmark already!! It's been a great World Cup though mainly because so called lesser teams are doing so well. In the Premiership now the teams with money dominate it as a rule.

Cliff on 12:13 12th-Jun-02 GMT #f97-15093
are the English media really any different from the German, Spanish, French etc? I doubt it.I bet the French media were playing up their teams chances before they went and slagging them off now.I bet the German media were writing their team off before they started but fancy them now.... and so on.I havent seen or heard anybody discount the Danes, the opposite in fact.Maybe we all see and hear what we want to.

Cliff on 12:19 12th-Jun-02 GMT #f97-15094
Arthur, imagine Man City were a top Premiership team in a couple of years time.Imagine they had a crop of talented English youngsters who became internationals and vital players in the 2006 World Cup.Being serious, would you then like to see England do well?

Arthur on 15:42 12th-Jun-02 GMT #29f-15096
Cliff - I don't mind how England do. I support Ireland and after that I'm just want to see good football. So in pure football terms the next team I'd support is Brazil who I suppose are everybody's second team. In many ways the way people go on about England is the same as the way Man Utd supporters act about their team and I can't stand that!! Speaking of things Mancunian - I don't have to imagine City as a class Premiership side - they are already!!!

Cliff on 15:56 12th-Jun-02 GMT #fd2-15097
As i said Arthur, we must all hear what we want to hear.nobody EVER has the confidence to say England will win anything...'getting to the Q/F will be an achievement' etc etc.Tell me where you hear all this English arrogance? I always think one of the reasons we dont achieve anything is because we put ourselves down all the time. The opposite I would say to Man Utd and the Germans.

Cliff on 16:02 12th-Jun-02 GMT #fd2-15098
we frighten ourselves to death by saying how great other teams or players of other teams are.is Roberto Carlos really that good? if he hits the target in 1 out of 10 free kicks I'll be surprised but when he does hes a 'magical Brazillian'.Juninho hit a shot high and wide from 18 yards in their first match but the commentators were wetting themselves about it..'he REALLY got hold of that one'.What a load of bollocks! he hit a shot off target! Englands problem has always been the same, build the others up and put themselves down......that is certainly not arrogance.

Ah, talking about bloody football of all things are you? Would never have happened in my day. Yeah the press coverage of the England team is truly ridiculous, but it panders to the trendy 'nouveau' football fans and Man Utd 'supporters' who don't really understand the game that well, so all you real fans just ignore it. Patronising, moi?☺ Everyone's expecting a difficult game against Denmark and in fairness I think Cliff's right, most people just expect England to fail at every stage. Another thing I, as a football fan, have a problem with is the recent trend for singing God Save The Queen at England matches. As an atheist and a republican I find this 'anthem' offensive (as well as seriously dull) and propose it be substituted by the Pistols' version. Or failing that, the famous and glorious Bristol City mantra: Cider'eds Until We Die, We'll Keep The Red Flag Flying High! What ya reckon Cliff?☺

By the way, great to see an Irish flag at the Germany game with the words BRISTOL CITY FC emblazoned across it.

Julius on 18:09 12th-Jun-02 GMT #6e5-15102
I was the one who tried to raise support for the Saw Doctors and I am sorry Cliff and Sean I think you did not understand me fully. It was the Saw Doctors who invited Billy and Michael (a few years ago)over to play 'teenage kicks' with them on stage. This was the start of the Undertones reunion. The Saw Doctors have always been great fans of the Undertones and praised them and so raised interest for the Undertones from their fans who are mostly teenagers(just read their guestbook!!). So to compare it with shopping at Tesco shows you do not understand the meaning of it. The Saw Doctors support the Undertones so deserve our support as well! Why else do we always praise celebs (like footballers, like recently a former WBA-player) who are Undertones-fans on this site??

Cliff on 18:17 12th-Jun-02 GMT #fd2-15103
Yes CR, for many years now I've believed the National anthem at football should be replaced by your cider song, or even 'I've got a brand new combine harvester' by the wurzels.

wilke @ on 18:39 12th-Jun-02 GMT #d12-15104

Wilke- 10.30pm Thursday seemed to work last week.

Jackie on 18:54 12th-Jun-02 GMT #81e-15109
Was I the only one to notice today that Nigerias national anthem sounded like 'Oh Little Town of Bethlehem'? Even my son said it sounded like a Christmas song! France definately have the best anthem. At least its fast.

©® on 19:06 12th-Jun-02 GMT #761-15110
Wurzels are a ludicrous band of west country yokel types who do 'amusing' songs about farmyards and stuff. Strangely though, they recently gained a cult following among young clubbers when a dance remix of Combine Harvester was released & went down a storm at Glastonbury. Also, crusty old anarcho-punksters Chaos UK (anyone remember them?) have formed a wurzels tribute band called the Wazzucks. Wierd huh?

George on 20:52 12th-Jun-02 GMT #101-15111
I must agree with Arthur about the English press. I do get embarrassed about how we can go from being crap one week to world beaters the next week. But then the press can obviously sell more copy that way. The BBC should know better. Admittedly it was nice to beat Germany to qualify and Argentina in the group, but those have been two of our better games, not our normal standards.

George on 20:54 12th-Jun-02 GMT #101-15112
Is it OK if I just send my £12 plus postage to you now then Vinny instead of waiting for the auction to close? If you get more than 100 offers I will pay more.

Vinny on 21:04 12th-Jun-02 GMT #d12-15113
No problem George. Click on my email and I'll email you the address.

You need to stop reading 'the sun' George, but then its always had its knockers.

Julius on 21:48 12th-Jun-02 GMT #bef-15117
I might have got a little overexcited concerning the saw Doctors but I have to admit I am a great fan of this band, heavily underrated and they were quite important in the history of the Undertones. Wilke, if I see you in the chatroom tomorow I'll give you my address. Great to see all the fuzz about the worldcup, here they go by almost unnoticed....

Ernie @ on 22:45 12th-Jun-02 GMT #0de-15118
Maybe not the most suitable BB for Sex Pistols related items but I have 6 brilliant scrapbooks I put together from May 1976 - Sids death with almost everything you`d ever imagine from the NME/Sounds/Melody Maker. Interviews, news stories, cuttings etc. I`d part with the at the right price - must be good as they really are precious! Private email only with offer
