Hope everyone is not deserting this site for the chat room. Not much good stuff on here any more. Chat room thoughts are shared by a very few and are lost into the ether. And it's for kiddies!!!

As a big kid myself I'm going to see Siouxsie tonight to try and recapture my youth. I expect there to be a mixed crowd, with a younger goth element. I remember hearing Hong Kong Garden on the John Peel show and thinking it was fantastic. It took ages for anyone to sign the Banshees which seems incredible now, considering how good they were. JP played that song to death, in a similar way to how he played Teenage Kicks. Cheers John (again). Life would be much duller without John Peel's influence

what were you going to phone me about last w/e donin? First Napster and then last week Audiogalaxy shut down by the musicbiz wankers. Don't know why the chatroom appeared empty at 11.30 then, thats wierd.My brother has a very very dry sense of humour and his books are based on this.He had a book signing session in Waterstones in 1997 which was a proud moment for him although he reminds me so much of John O'Neill as he found the whole thing embarrassing and played it all down.That book was a history of Westcliff On Sea as told thru the eyes of a fictional old man being asked questions by his nephew...it sold 500 copies locally.

Audiogalaxy has gone? Damn. Haven't been on for a while and I heard they were being sued. That's bad - could get almost anything on there. Winmx.com (I think that's the site) is good but wasn't in the same league as audiogalaxy. In Q magazine there was also a 3rd mentioned which I hadn't heard of which looked like a good one from the write up. I will try to dig it out and let you know.

Hi Cliff - must be online at the same time. You don't know any Baggies mates that might have a few ticket stubs do you. I'm trying to get a season ticket but didn't keep the stubs last year and then I'm on holiday the dates that I will get a chance to apply. Applications have to be in person apparently so by the time I return they will be sold out. Can't find anyone to go and queue and pretend to be me either. If you can help I'd appreciate it.

On the 'my brother like J O'Neill' theme....he started a band in the mid 70's, wrote the songs and played bass.They played locally to great acclaim, more so than another local band 'the screaming abdabs' featuring Allison Moyet.The songs were quite Undertonish, loud and fast but with excellent tunes.One of my proudest moments was watching his band(the youth)playing at the Hammersmith Odeon supporting Dr Feelgood.They also played the Rock Garden and supported 'the Records'.Sadly my Brother chose to marry young...end of story.

His new book is on the theme of 'estuary english' which takes the piss out of local 'new' words.Words that have been invented in recent years and are generally unique to this area.

unbelievable for United, yes.I was there in '78 when we stuffed them 5-3, best game I ever saw.We'd beaten Aesnal 2-1 at highbury a few days before.We also beat United 4-0 in '77 and 4-0 again in '79, and 3-2 in the Cup in '78.It wasn't unusual in those days, although I'd settle for 1-0 this time ;-)

With regards to Audiogalaxy, I was well pissed I signed up for a Gold membership around 3 months ago. I am currently using Kazaalite which is the same thing as Kazaa but without the spyware that's bundled with it, it's not bad, worth a try. Laughing my bollocks off at the press up here having kittens because Martin O' Neill never flew to Ireland with the Celtic squad this morning. Rife speculation about his whereabouts abounded until someone pointed out he flew out last night to avoid the media tossers. 1-0 Martin. Donin - in answer to your Q. No, it’s generally only 1 night a week anyway but useful for say people making arrangements to meet in Ireland because it’s live and involves everyone at the same time. It may well be for kiddies (and big kiddies) but it’s spontaneous and good fun (esp. when Wilke has no specs!). Also messages here can be read by anyone when sometimes the content is only relevant to a few so you know exactly who the info. has got through to and even have a private chat with one person if you need to pass on something personal like a telephone no. Wonder if Liam can shed any light on the problems last night. If you got in that's very strange. Can't be a limit on nos. surely - anyway Vinny called in at about 11.15 and then left and we've had more on than last night before. Was the background 'Pink' when you tried?? Well that's all over the hype over with Tim for another year. There's more chance (hopefullY) of an Undertones concert tour of England and Scotland than there is of Tim winning Wimbledon. He makes the people in BB look and sound interesting.

George, a lobotomised slug with learning difficulties would look gifted compared to the crowd on BB. They have to be nuts to go on it in the 1st place and deserve all they get. They should start really messing with their minds instead of just turning up the temperatures in the bedrooms hoping someone shows a boob or bollock for viewers titillation. How about keeping them total darkness for 24 hours while playing white noise through the speakers. Maybe thats a bit harsh buts its been a harsh day!Off to chill.
