Wilke - got your note, been away the past week will post you the CD at the w/end donald on 10:16 5th-Jul-02 GMT #e46-15493 tried the chatroom twice last night between 10.30 and 11pm. It would let me write anything and I couldnt see that anyone was there. Cliff what was your brothers book called? doninblack on 10:24 5th-Jul-02 GMT #8e3-15494 Hope everyone is not deserting this site for the chat room. Not much good stuff on here any more. Chat room thoughts are shared by a very few and are lost into the ether. And it's for kiddies!!! doninblack on 10:31 5th-Jul-02 GMT #8e3-15495 As a big kid myself I'm going to see Siouxsie tonight to try and recapture my youth. I expect there to be a mixed crowd, with a younger goth element. I remember hearing Hong Kong Garden on the John Peel show and thinking it was fantastic. It took ages for anyone to sign the Banshees which seems incredible now, considering how good they were. JP played that song to death, in a similar way to how he played Teenage Kicks. Cheers John (again). Life would be much duller without John Peel's influence donald on 11:02 5th-Jul-02 GMT #e46-15496 what were you going to phone me about last w/e donin? First Napster and then last week Audiogalaxy shut down by the musicbiz wankers. Ive lost about 120 tracks unless they are somewhere on my hard drive. Any other sites recommended? was one WinFX or something? Donin - take it easy with the eyeliner tonight! Cliff on 12:43 5th-Jul-02 GMT #4e2-15497 Don't know why the chatroom appeared empty at 11.30 then, thats wierd. My brother has a very very dry sense of humour and his books are based on this.He had a book signing session in Waterstones in 1997 which was a proud moment for him although he reminds me so much of John O'Neill as he found the whole thing embarrassing and played it all down. That book was a history of Westcliff On Sea as told thru the eyes of a fictional old man being asked questions by his nephew...it sold 500 copies locally. Lee on 12:45 5th-Jul-02 GMT #fb0-15498 Audiogalaxy has gone? Damn. Haven't been on for a while and I heard they were being sued. That's bad - could get almost anything on there. Winmx.com (I think that's the site) is good but wasn't in the same league as audiogalaxy. In Q magazine there was also a 3rd mentioned which I hadn't heard of which looked like a good one from the write up. I will try to dig it out and let you know. Lee on 12:48 5th-Jul-02 GMT #fb0-15499 Hi Cliff - must be online at the same time. You don't know any Baggies mates that might have a few ticket stubs do you. I'm trying to get a season ticket but didn't keep the stubs last year and then I'm on holiday the dates that I will get a chance to apply. Applications have to be in person apparently so by the time I return they will be sold out. Can't find anyone to go and queue and pretend to be me either. If you can help I'd appreciate it. Cliff on 12:49 5th-Jul-02 GMT #4e2-15500 On the 'my brother like J O'Neill' theme....he started a band in the mid 70's, wrote the songs and played bass. They played locally to great acclaim, more so than another local band 'the screaming abdabs' featuring Allison Moyet. The songs were quite Undertonish, loud and fast but with excellent tunes. One of my proudest moments was watching his band(the youth)playing at the Hammersmith Odeon supporting Dr Feelgood. They also played the Rock Garden and supported 'the Records'.Sadly my Brother chose to marry young...end of story. Cliff on 12:51 5th-Jul-02 GMT #4e2-15501 sorry Lee, I've been asked the same question several times by longstanding albion mates so have already given away any that I had.Theres a decent chance I'll be on the pitch at Old Trafford as 'photographers assistant'. Cliff on 12:54 5th-Jul-02 GMT #4e2-15502 His new book is on the theme of 'estuary english' which takes the piss out of local 'new' words.Words that have been invented in recent years and are generally unique to this area. Lee on 13:04 5th-Jul-02 GMT #fb0-15503 Thanks anyway Cliff. If you hear anythging you know who to tell. There's a pint or 2 in it for anyone that helps if I get a ticket. Old Trafford first game back after so long. Unbelievable or what! Cliff on 13:43 5th-Jul-02 GMT #c70-15504 unbelievable for United, yes.I was there in '78 when we stuffed them 5-3, best game I ever saw. We'd beaten Aesnal 2-1 at highbury a few days before. We also beat United 4-0 in '77 and 4-0 again in '79, and 3-2 in the Cup in '78.It wasn't unusual in those days, although I'd settle for 1-0 this time ;-) Cliff on 13:52 5th-Jul-02 GMT #c70-15505 we also beat 'Arsenal' ;-) George on 15:33 5th-Jul-02 GMT #100-15506 Almost Undertonish, but with excellent tunes? Cliff. Why the 'but' Cliff. Were the Undertones not excellent tunes. I was in the chatroom for an hour last night. I get sick of the bloody adverts that come along every couple of minutes. It's another way Doninblack to keep up to speed with what's going on. Cliff on 15:44 5th-Jul-02 GMT #5f1-15507 George, you should be a journalist, you've misquoted me.I said 'The songs were quite Undertonish, loud and fast but with excellent tunes'.If you read it again, I meant the same as the Undertones. cliff on 15:47 5th-Jul-02 GMT #5f1-15508 'Come on Tim' Cliff on 15:50 5th-Jul-02 GMT #5f1-15509 He's one set and 3-0 down with a rain break.Lets see if hes got any guts and passion, I doubt it.Mind you if his Dads any example, what an old po face he looks.I bet he's embarrassed his son is a pro tennis player, dosent sit well at the Rotary club 'I wanted him to go into banking you know....' AlexD on 16:09 5th-Jul-02 GMT #e5c-15510 With regards to Audiogalaxy, I was well pissed I signed up for a Gold membership around 3 months ago. I am currently using Kazaalite which is the same thing as Kazaa but without the spyware that's bundled with it, it's not bad, worth a try. Laughing my bollocks off at the press up here having kittens because Martin O' Neill never flew to Ireland with the Celtic squad this morning. Rife speculation about his whereabouts abounded until someone pointed out he flew out last night to avoid the media tossers. 1-0 Martin. I am out tomorrow night Lindsay, what do you think black fishnets and white stilletoes or the little black number with the split up the side. I can't decide!!! Lindsay on 16:16 5th-Jul-02 GMT [pub32.bravenet.com/chat/show.php] #869-15511 Donin - in answer to your Q. No, it’s generally only 1 night a week anyway but useful for say people making arrangements to meet in Ireland because it’s live and involves everyone at the same time. It may well be for kiddies (and big kiddies) but it’s spontaneous and good fun (esp. when Wilke has no specs!). Also messages here can be read by anyone when sometimes the content is only relevant to a few so you know exactly who the info. has got through to and even have a private chat with one person if you need to pass on something personal like a telephone no. Wonder if Liam can shed any light on the problems last night. If you got in that's very strange. Can't be a limit on nos. surely - anyway Vinny called in at about 11.15 and then left and we've had more on than last night before. Was the background 'Pink' when you tried?? Is this the link you used? Lindsay on 16:19 5th-Jul-02 GMT #869-15512 You also get to find out some very 'interesting' information!! All 3 I think Alice;-) p2 on 16:45 5th-Jul-02 GMT #08b-15513 Its the Siouxsie gig tonite for me too. Like Doninblack, I am hoping to recapture my youth (He should never have escaped in the first place). Lee on 17:20 5th-Jul-02 GMT #fb0-15514 Kazaa - That's the other one mentioned in Q. Thanks AlexD. Jackie on 17:36 5th-Jul-02 GMT #81e-15515 Big kids we maybe but show me an easier way for people in England Ireland and Holland all to have a chat. Have I made 500 posts yet? Jackie on 17:37 5th-Jul-02 GMT #81e-15516 Lindsay I hope you mean eaterie and drinkery!Shopping will be high on agenda too! donald on 18:05 5th-Jul-02 GMT #e46-15517 Apperently Henman complained after a very close match (3-0, 3-0) that some dodgy bloke wearing a WBA scarf kept shouting 'f**k off Tim' in between serves. donald on 18:06 5th-Jul-02 GMT #e46-15518 thanks for the new Napster sites folks. wilke on 18:25 5th-Jul-02 GMT #949-15519 vinny i go on saturday for two weeks will get the right dates when i get back have to go out now .made my mind up not to play any undertones cds untill the day of the gig so i dont over kill and have a great night at the gig what do you lot think am i mad or what AlexD on 19:03 5th-Jul-02 GMT #b81-15520 Make sure you get KaZaaLite as KaZaa is full of stuff you don't want on your PC. Jackie ahem!! didn't you forget somewhere? George on 19:47 5th-Jul-02 GMT #420-15522 Well that's all over the hype over with Tim for another year. There's more chance (hopefullY) of an Undertones concert tour of England and Scotland than there is of Tim winning Wimbledon. He makes the people in BB look and sound interesting. George on 19:49 5th-Jul-02 GMT #420-15523 was that the undertones dancing with kelly lloretta on totp tonight? donald on 20:02 5th-Jul-02 GMT #e46-15524 George, a lobotomised slug with learning difficulties would look gifted compared to the crowd on BB. They have to be nuts to go on it in the 1st place and deserve all they get. They should start really messing with their minds instead of just turning up the temperatures in the bedrooms hoping someone shows a boob or bollock for viewers titillation. How about keeping them total darkness for 24 hours while playing white noise through the speakers. Maybe thats a bit harsh buts its been a harsh day!Off to chill. wilke on 20:10 5th-Jul-02 GMT #949-15525 donald enjoy your chill out tonight me i`m up to my eyes try to pack for the hoildays two steps forward then 10 steps backwards god i need a drink talk soon see ya donald on 22:47 5th-Jul-02 GMT #e46-15526 Have a great holiday Wilke, dont forget to pack the lobster . wilke on 23:49 5th-Jul-02 GMT #949-15527 donald only going about 15 miles from were i live not much to see.keeping the lobster for spain in about four weeks time.i migth get on the site tomorrow before i go if not see you some of you at the gig talk soon see ya wilke on 23:55 5th-Jul-02 GMT #949-15528 arthur are you coming down for the film showing in derry if you are i`ll get you that drink i owe you ok talk soon see ya
