Any more sarcasm from you cockney boy and I'll do a three page treatsie on my back in the style of mad Anna. Arthur on 10:57 17th-Jul-02 GMT #29f-15731 I bought an album by Soundtrack of Our Lives whom I saw on Jools Holland and who were brilliant. The album on first listening is yet another album that is almost wholly derived from the sixties, the Beatles in particular. Perhaps thats where the Tones went wrong, bit too original. There seem to be so many groups who are spectacularily unoriginal such as OCS. If you want to get ahead pretend to be the Beatles and sound like the Rutles such as Oasis, et al. p2 on 14:56 17th-Jul-02 GMT #08b-15732 Toyah were/was the first famous band I ever saw. I was v excited, and under the influence of cider I threw my braces onstage. She threw them back. It was only later that I realised that Toyah was a big crock of fake-punk sh*t. My excuse was that I was young, and inexperienced in the ways of the world. And famous bands didn't play belfast very often. Rick on 15:47 17th-Jul-02 GMT #2a9-15733 Toyah's greatest moments are limited to her laughable appearance in Derek Jarman's 'punk' movie 'Jubilee' and her narration of Teletubbies. 'I Wanna Be Free' (and it's video) were funny too but po-faced crap like 'Thunder In The Mountains' and 'Good Morning Universe' are truly awful. She is a huge Dr. Who fan too. p2 on 17:48 17th-Jul-02 GMT #08b-15747 Yes, and the words to 'I Wanna Be Free' are truly stomach turning. I've always thought 'Thunder in the Mountains' was some sort of euphemism for flatulence. Or perhaps not. She is married to Robert Fripp isn't she, and lives in a massive mansion somewhere. I don't imagine she wants to 'run down the alleyways being very loud' any more. p2 on 17:51 17th-Jul-02 GMT #08b-15748 I just have to add, on the subject of Jamie Oliver - Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall would kick his ass. Hugh is The Daddy of TV chefs. In fact, he would probably cook and eat Jamie Oliver, and the rest of his family too. And that would be after having a grilled Delia for starters. Lindsay on 18:44 17th-Jul-02 GMT #7c9-15749 I hate cooking so Jamie and Hugh are welcome in my house anytime. If I won the lottery, I'd buy a chef and enough shoes to make Imelda Marcos turn green. No jewellery though - IMO a criminal waste of money just to be flash when people in the world are starving. Nothing wrong with the fake stuff anyway. (Can't stick to my principles where the shoes are concerned though, sorry!). Lindsay on 18:46 17th-Jul-02 GMT #7c9-15750 Anyone got the new Idlewild album which (I think) is out this week? I was considering it for my hols. after the last two singles. Jackie on 19:12 17th-Jul-02 GMT #81e-15751 Toyah was pretty good narrating on 'Brum' (you have to have kids to know about this one!) Rick-don't knock Dr Who! Lots of boys who I knew at the time all liked Toyah(for mainly puerile reasons) I think you lot are all in denial:-) I've got a brilliant weekend ahead of me-David away so I've bought the CSI DVD-a whole 12 episodes to watch. Its the first (and last) DVD I've bought-too bloody expensive! George on 22:05 17th-Jul-02 GMT #f10-15752 Well at least I know where I'm sending my kids for the weekend. They are big fans of CSI, so if you buy plenty of pop, popcorn, pringles crisps Jackie I'm sure they'll be as good as gold. I'll collect them from you at teatime on Sunday. If you can have them in bed by 10:00pm Saturday the eldest will still manage to wake you up at 7.00am sharp on the Sunday morning. Cheers! George on 22:08 17th-Jul-02 GMT #f10-15753 There's a Siouxsie gig reviewed on Page 569 of Ceefax. See the Rutles sound a likes had their own TOTP2 show tonight. donald on 22:21 17th-Jul-02 GMT #e46-15754 Sorry to be so stupid but whats CSI? I got Tom Bakers autograph but it was for a cousin whos a big Dr Who fan (honest). Not a fan or Dr Who but I did love the KLF's 'Doctoring the tardis'. George on 22:28 17th-Jul-02 GMT #f10-15755 Anyone watch the programme on BBC2 after TOTP2 about cyber pirates. Almost every video or DVD I have seen prior to their official release I have bought subsequently. I'd hate the idea of spending £20 or £30 on a Playstation game for my daughter only to find it is gathering dust a couple of month later. Jackie on 22:42 17th-Jul-02 GMT #6ce-15756 George wot a bad parent you are- CSI has a 15 certificate!! Its even too gory for me at times. donald-just tune into channel 5 at 9pm on Saturday and find out. Unless you are doing better saturday night things unlike sad old me. Though I will be out celebrating the best night of the year tomorrow...SCHOOLS OUT FOR SUMMER!!!!! Vinny on 22:45 17th-Jul-02 GMT #d12-15757 Hello everyone, I'm just back from sunny Salou. What a journey home. Back to work now and drumming up PR for Monday night. Talk soon. donald on 22:51 17th-Jul-02 GMT #e46-15758 Hope you had a good holiday Vinny and we look forward to seeing the pictures of you, a spanish donkey and a lobster. AlexD on 22:56 17th-Jul-02 GMT #e53-15759 There was a report made about 'the Barras' (Glasgow Market) and it said it was the number one place in Europe for moody software, films, DVD's etc. Someone I know ....ahem, recently bought MS Office XP pro(£370.00) for £15. Julius on 23:00 17th-Jul-02 GMT #fd1-15760 We always had the Musikladen on TV here where bands played in front of an audience sitting nicely around tables near the stage, It turned out that these were all musicbizpeople invited and that the normal audience was set faraway and watched the show on screens. Toyah was the first and only artist who broke through the corridors and played in front of the normal audience, with her back to the invites, always liked her since! Cliff on 23:14 17th-Jul-02 GMT #ba9-15761 Just in case anybody missed the earlier message....the 'tones don't come on until after midnight at OldCastle.Blimey its only a week away now, looking forward to hearing the new songs again.I'd be surprised if there isn't atleast 1 other new one we didn't hear last Xmas.Played the first 3 albums today while doing some house work(honest)put me on a real high. Cliff on 23:17 17th-Jul-02 GMT #ba9-15762 Was offered the chance of going in an executive box at Old trafford today.Get there at midday, 5 course meal, as much as you can drink, TV in the box, bla bla bla.Sounds wonderful but thats not what its all about for me, I hate the thought of a window between me and the action and clapping politely(if) we score.A bit like watching the Undertones from the balcony. Cliff on 23:20 17th-Jul-02 GMT #ba9-15763 Tim, what an arrogant pratt! I bet he stamps his feet when he dosent get his own way at home. Can't wait to see his face when Davina tells him his girl friends left him, hee hee. Hugh on 00:32 18th-Jul-02 GMT #b14-15764 Lyndsay, I was reading down the postings and I thought I was being invited round your place anytime. It's some other Hugh with a double-barrelled name. I cook up a lovely beans and chips, though.
