Thank God for The Smiths in the dire music scene of the mid-80's. Morrissey's wit, word play, style and humour were a tonic against all those dark goth bands and cocktail lounge type bands. They were the really pretentious ones. The Queen is Dead IMO is one of the greatest albums of all time. So its easy for an Undertones fan to love The Smiths.

Most TV commentators at the time assumed Roy Keane was out for revenge. Presumably the additional book sales will more than cover the cost of him being sued. He is a bit of a thug on the field but I'm sure most fans wouldn't mind him being in their team. I wouldn't want to spill his drink at an Undertones concert though.

Luke thanks for the info. I've been away in Munich for the weekend, so I didn't make the chat room Lindsay! It all sounds a bit furtive for me!I much prefer looking from a distance and swooping for the odd comment every so often, but I'm always here - or in the pub. Went to the gym tonight for the first time since I ran the London Marathon - prompted by having to climb a 307 step tower in Munich, and realising I am now just fat, not fat and vaguely fit. I guess I'd have to stand at the back on Saturday - If I was going!

I didn't see you taking part in the European Championships Dominic. Money permitting and no Undertones concert clashing I would love to be in Athens in 2004 for the Olympics. If only to watch the Marathon. I've sent some photos to CMoS. Has he defected to the Magazine site full time?

He's going to be overrun with photos. I've sent mine today too. Dominic - try jogging to the pub, the prospect of a few pints makes all the hard work worth it and stops you feeling guilty when you get there. Jogging back afterwards might be a bit more tricky though!
