Bit surprised at some of the reviews from the gig. I'd have loved to see it because I like the Waterboys and Van Morrison. Were they crap or is this just a bit of Undertones bias coming in here?

I like the waterboys Lee, but I think it must have mainly been new material so it was only Fishermans Blues realy got things going. We left before Van Morrison but aparently there was no chat between songs and he was just his usually grumpy self. I am very biased against Deacon Blue so my comments should be read as such - they were utter shite!I didnt speak to anyone re Xmas gigs but heres hoping

I thought Deacon Blue were just okay live but as someone pointed out, after a while all their songs sounded the same? It's not being biased but may be seen as such to say The Undertones stole the show. They really did get the crowd going and should have been on much later. Highland Radio, a Donegal station, also said this yesterday!! As Donald said, we left before Van, ahem, there were more important things to be getting on with!!Waterboys? I can take them or leave them. On Saturday, I left them!!

Having said all of that, I am NOT a big fan of these outdoor gigs. It's great to see them coming to Derry which has never had these festivals but I prefer the indoor sweaty packed venues like the Nerve Centre.

I have to agree Vinny. The Undertones where the only band really worth seeing on the day. I left during the Waterboys as I thought both them and Deacon Blue were competing to see who could be the most boring. From speaking to other people who where there it seems like The Undertones made a few more fans last weekend. It would have been great if they could have landed the support for Oasis - far bigger and much younger crowd. Looking forward to the Letterkenny gig now. Does anyone know if there are any plans for anything to coincide with the release of the single? By the way apologies to Alex and Donald for not making it into town on Sunday. It was my birthday and just couldn't get away. Sorry lads. Hope you both had a great time. Only two days more to work until holidays. Off to Holland and Germany for a week from Saturday.

Flicked onto BBC2 tonight and caught the end of HCTS on TOTP2. Did anyone see it through? The caption said something about the band reforming with Paul as lead singer but sadly I missed most of it. Even the TV mag when I looked after said TOTP2 'featuring the Undertones' yet I still went and missed it!

I missed TOTP2 tonight by working late and didn't have the sense to tape it. It was only when reading someone else's TV listing magazine after 7pm that I found out The Undertones had been on. Annoying since I wrote to TOTP2 a few weeks back telling them when the birthdays were in August. Anyway Wilke's tape has helped me get over the diappointment. Third play in the last hour and my grin is getting bigger (and no the tape is not Debbie does Dallas). Pity it only lasts 22 minutes. Many thanks Wilke.

Saw that Lindsay, it mentioned John O'Neill's Birthday this week and at 45 he's still in The Undertones with Paul as singer now. Has someone passed that message onto Wilke yet? I haven't his email on home PC

The ones I took look ok, what is it you do for a living? Only joking there is a good one of me wilke and Caroline, an absolute belter of you at the gig,and Donald with the band behind and Donald 'powernapping' at the gig,all the night ones are a bit ropey including me getting chucked out by the bouncers(ouch)and standing outside the Gweedore.Class photo of me and Paul in Galway that was still on the spool,Bullpark and Free Derry corner turned out great, wee bit shaky though,mmm wonder why!! Sounds great Alex. I have bad experiences with those disposable cameras, especially when left in the quick services but you sound as if you had a wee bit of luck!You're definitely lucky that the ones taken on Sunday came out at all!!Wilke, I'll be sending you an email soon.

Got my photos but I dont know where Ive put my scanner since moving house. When its found and I find out how to work it Ill send some in. motsly turned out good, even Sundays. One or two do have fingers over the lens - mine not Vinnys. Vinnys to modest about his skills with disposable cameras -a particular favourite is holding the camera upside down - only a cameraman and producer would have the talent to see these trick shots ;)

Wilke its not Jame or James Bond - its Jamssshhhhhhhhhhh. I took a power nap during Deacon Blue cos I thought if I stood up it may look like I liked them.
