Musings
Hi there, Ive added a new page to the site with a tribute from John O Neill to someone who played an important role in the early days of the band. might meet you in amsterdam Vinny on 10:52 1st-Oct-02 GMT #d72-16811 THESE ARE DONIN's COMMENTS REF: EDINBURGH SCREENING: There were about 50 people there, which is good for a Monday at 6.15. The age group was mainly 20's and 30's, so that's a good sign for future gigs. I wasn't sure how I would feel seeing it for the fourth time but I loved it! Still seems as fresh as the first time. There's always little bits you didn't notice before. E.g. I had always wondered why Morecambe and Wise were in the home movies bit! Only last night I realised it wasn't Eric and Ernie, but probably a couple of school teachers. I think I need my eyes tested. Vinny on 10:53 1st-Oct-02 GMT #d72-16812 Ctd......It's worth in itself going again just to see on the big screen the magnificence of the live 'Get Over You' and 'True Confessions'. The 'My Perfect Cousin' video is also fantastic. It's all very enjoyable. It's great to think in 50 years time people will view it to see what really happened in the punk years. A great piece of history. Hope to be going to the Dutch gigs. Looking forward to seeing the Tones for the first time in 20 years. Yeeha!! Cheers, Donald (doninblack) Vince @ on 13:55 1st-Oct-02 GMT #289-16813 I am going to both the Amsterdam and Derry concerts, a colleague of mine at work said there is a 5 star hotel in Amsterdam for £70 for two per night, luxury. She said it was the hotel Abacus or something like that. As for Derry it will be the usual Acorn b+b, Arthur will i be seeing you on both occasions. Vinny on 15:36 1st-Oct-02 GMT #7bb-16814 Excellent work Mickey, well done. AlexD on 16:55 1st-Oct-02 GMT [www.hotels.nl/amsterdam/artgallery/] #6a1-16815 I've been looking for accomodation for Amsterdam, the Paradiso gig is on Weteringschans 6-8, I've found a hotel that looks ok and reasonable on Weteringschans 67. Check it out and see what you think. AlexD on 17:01 1st-Oct-02 GMT #6a1-16816 Mmm just noticed 'A minimum stay of 3 nights is required in the Weekends' bummer. wilke on 19:43 1st-Oct-02 GMT #949-16817 vinny did you get my e mail about the times and price of flights to a/adam.tssy Vinny on 20:32 1st-Oct-02 GMT #15f-16818 Yes, I got it Wilke; we are discussing babysitters! I hope a third night gets added soon or I will feel such a mug having bought my return ticket from Brussels for the Monday. What is there for a single male to do in Amsterdam on his tod!
