Thanks George, there were quite a few hotels around where the Paradiso is but I discounted them cos I thought it was around Dam Sq. That gives us a few more options then so I'll try again 2night. Just looked and the club is marked on the map I bought on Sunday! There are 4/5 hotels marked on it nearby and it seems to be in the lively Theatre/Bars district, close to the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseums.

Hi all, sorry but can I have an update in a nutshell as i'm not getting on as much as I was in 'the good old days'.Q1) how do we get from Amsterdam to Rotterdam? Q2) Do we stay the first night in Amsterdam or get that train that leaves in the early hours,I saw mentioned a few days ago? Personally I think I'll need to come home on Sunday Morning as Albion play Spurs in London.Oh, and Q3)...does anybody want to buy a baby?

Park Hotel - 4*, good location just across the Singelgracht to the Paradiso. Double at £83 (triple at 123) is good value but singles are £75 a night which may be a bit pricey for some. It has 187 rooms though, so we should all get in (hopefully). Where are the Band staying I wonder?

£83 a night? That'll leave no money for the brown cafes!!

I will have to save up-just about to book a trip to London for pre Xmas shopping and a visit to see Gillian Anderson in 'What the Night is For'. In the vain hope David Duchovny might be sitting next to me!

Still no news of a Sunday night concert yet? Since I am not travelling back until Monday I still don't know whether to book just the one night in Amsterdam with nights either side in Rotterdam and Brussels. 4 star hotels, we are moving up in the world!

Cliff: the nighttown in Rotterdam is quite near rotterdam central station so I think it is most convenient you lot take a train form amsterdam and return with one of the nighttrains from r'dam to a'dam: you only need to book one hotel in holland which is mostly cheaper, can leave your bags there etc. By the way: I am also lookin for a hotel in a'dam myself, so if anyone wants to share let me know(maybe a triple room)
