My fave=intro to True Confessions. Preferrably live. Other great intros-Orange crush,REM and ..Rescue by Echo and the Bunnymen. Cant tyou tell I'm having a Bunnymen revival. Even got the Live in Liverpool DVD for my birthday yesterday (which you all forgot:-)

My choice would be the unexpected turn into a completely different and much faster tune toward the end of '9 Times Out Of 10' when it sets off on a riffing refrain that is just getting really really good when it frustratingly fades out.

I'd agree with Vinny about TEARPROOF. Mind you, JIMMY JIMMY is good too as is YOU'VE GOT MY NUMBER. If I really had to choose though it would be YOU'RE WELCOME.

Yes Rick I think I've agreed with you on that one before. It reminds me of the same thing on Tomorrow Never Knows by the Beatles, where the sitar cranks up a gear then fades out. Very frustrating. But if you turn the volume up really loud and listen with headphones you get an extra few seconds of it on the fade.

Jackie - you never did tell me the date and now I have to say sorry:( Looks like we all forgot to Remember Remember the Fifth of November! Did you have some fireworks to celebrate? Foe intros how could I forget bass at the start of Into the Valley, Is she really going out with him followed by the drumming on the start of New Rose by the Damned and then the siren followed by the guitar at the start of Babylons Burning. For middle of songs I like the drumming on New Rose and middle bit of (This is the)Sound of the Suburbs as the verse gets louder and louder.

There's loads of really good intros to songs. Sleepwalk by Ultravox, A Life Less Ordinary and Projects by Ash, The Sun Always Shines on TV by A-Ha, This is the Sound of Youth by These Animal Men, Stay Alive by the Popguns, Common People by Pulp, Debase by the Pixies, Basket Case by Green Day, Let's Burn by Peter and the Test Tube Babies, Crusoe by Cinerama, Simple by China Drum, Nowhere by Therapy. Into the Valley is great too. I Wanna Go Where the People Go by the Wildhearts and Gone by the Wedding Present both have really good endings! I'm sure there's loads more...
