I see that British Airways have pulled out of several domestic routes in the UK including 4 from Newcastle, to be replaced hopefully by cheaper airlines. They're stopping the flights to Dublin but thankfully Ryanair fly to Dublin from Teesside so it will not affect the 2003 Dublin Undertones christmas concerts. Has Leeds airport got a new plane company called Jet2 Lindsay and will it be of any use to you in your travels to Ireland? Hope Dublin is going to be warmer than today and definitely warmer than Amsterdam. Is the Ambassador a seated venue?

Alive and well! Sorry been away for a while. Too busy at work as usual. Not moved house yet but spending lots of time sorting through the boxes of junk we've accumulated over the years. The record collection has been safely despatched to my parents house so it doesn't get damaged in the move whenever it happens. Had the office do Monday night. I booked Tuesday as holiday. Unfortunately of the 80 photo's that have surfaced the one that everyone was talking about when I arrived this morning was me - belly dancing with some Greek woman. Certainly not 1 for the fainthearted and not for STW.

Sorry to hear about your sister George. Cliff's right unfortunately - likely to get a warning if they ever catch them. My dad was telling me on Monday that there was someone who stabbed 17 people in a big dep't store in B'ham a few years back. I think he got 10 life sentences. So it seems last week they let him out to do a bit of Christmas shopping - madness.

Don't be a spoilsport Lee, send it in. We're your friends, we won't laugh (much!). George, what a terrible ordeal for your sister. Someone I know was attacked in a car park last year and the incident was featured on Crimewatch. She's still pretty shook up about it. Hope your sister can get some advice on how to come to terms with what's happened.

Jet2 are indeed flying from Leeds (to Amsterdam of all places!). About time we had a low-cost airline round here. Not sure if Ireland's on the list but they don't start 'til February anyway.

The front was busier than Rotterdam, around 30 to start with, Wilke standing on one spot as usual trying his best dodgey knees and all.Henry reminds me of the 'mud' dance although he does it on his own and George kicks high into the air like the old intro of OGWT.The smoothest mover has to be Donald who glides effortlessly through the crowd, sort of 'now you see him now you dont'.Lindsay usually stands slightly back, giving herself a bit of space in case it gets to physical and although Derek is usually right in the thick of things he was standing to the side as he was injured from the previous night.Rick was doing his thing and then theres yours truly doing a sort of Status Quo but resting after every 3 or 4 numbers.It's bloody hard work it really is, but there can be no better way of getting rid of pent up energy(maybe there is, but as I said I DIDN'T pay per view) .

The Undertones were superb, you just know you can stay at the front safe in the knowledge another classic is next on the list and for me NOBODY else can claim that.The sound wasn't quite as good as Rotterdam for me, but still good enough and the atmosphere more than made up for it.If I had the choice of a half filled venue with perfect sound or a packed venue but the sound not perfect, I'd go for the latter every time.When you get a packed venue AND great sound, theres nothing better(musically).Theres not much to say about the set that I havent said before, mixing Undertones classics with the exciting new stuff is as good as it gets for me, the new stuff seemed really well recieved by the locals.

Rick said he didn't really form an opinion on the new stuff but I'd say thats because the sound wasn't clear enough to be hearing a new song for the first time, you need to hear them several times for the tunes to stick.I was pretty gutted at the end because I can't go to Dublin or Derry so its another long wait until next time.

My Car broke down again on the outskirts of Southend at approx 11am Sunday Morning.Once again I sat like a lemon stranded until, as luck would have it, a good friend of mine drove past.He gave me a lift to work where I phoned the AA, they wouldnt tow the car home without me being there so I had to get back to my car, in the middle of a traffic jam on a dual carriageway.My Dad dropped me there(it was now 1.30) I was dying for a piss and freezing, until finally the AA bloke turned up.He dropped me off home at 2.15pm(match KO was 4,05pm)I realised I didnt have the house keys...AARRRGGGHHHHH!!!! I had no choice but to go and piss in back garden, that'll confuse the cats.I persuaded the miserable 'I hate football' AA man to give me a lift to Leigh station, got off at Barking at 3.30pm(10 miles from Tottenham)then my only hope was a taxi and I realised I only had euros!!

the taxi driver said that was OK although he's never taken euros before and I got to the ground at 4pm.I had £2.90 in change in my pocket and the programme was £3.When Albion scored a well deserved goal to make it 1-2 I remembered what Donald had said to me in Amsterdam during the gig...'It dosent get any better than this, surely this is better than your football'.It's like comparing your favourute drink to your favourite food.

Superb review Cliff, as always. My gliding across the dancefloor has more to do with spilt beer than smooth moves but thanks all the same. I hope your experience of auctioned cars is not typical Cliff as I plan to buy my next car from an Auction. I nearly bought one the day before leaving for Amsterdam, but my friends brother who buys and sells cars for a living and who was doing the bidding for me pulled out at £4000. He thinks I could have sold the car privately the next day for over £5k but since I had better things to attend to I thought I would leave if for a few weeks.

If I was gonna spend £4000 on a car George I wouldn't go to an auction...mine cost £450 and I've had it sorted now for an extra £100.
