Hope you all had a good Christmas. See some of you on Saturday night. I agree that it would be a nice touch if the band were to do a Clash number as a tribute to Joe Strummer. The Clash are often slagged about the politics in their music - but for me that was one of the big attractions. Strummer did a hell of alot of work over the years for various groups of striking workers etc. Once met him with a few friends of mine from London Class War who had orgainised his Rock Against the Rich Tour. He seemed a nice bloke and he will I am sure be missed by many.

Not sure about the tribute, there wasn't one for the Ramones.

Forgot to mention that I noticed something at Amsterdam I'd never seen before.During the repeated chorus ending of 'gotta getta' Mickey was speaking as if he was reading from the Derry journal.Is that a first or is it normal? also, he couldn't have been saying the same words he said on the actual song(seems unlikely)so therefore what was he saying.Fascinating stuff.

I think me, Arthur and Terry Hooley ended up in Sandinos the only time I've been to Derry. Went for a walkabout from the pub and spotted John on his way to the Vibe to do his interviews for Vinny's film.

Just been checking the flights to Belfast in case I have a last minute chance of heart on Saturday. Flights out are reasonable though not from local airports. Unfortunately the flights back are expensive. Then there is always the problem of getting to/from Belfast - Derry in time for concert and plane. Better stick tomy original plan and give it a miss.
