Well it's nice to be back at work, even if it is only for an hour and unpaid. Helps me get my desk clear and ready for the New Year. Any resolutions planned by anyone. As someone who has never ridden a bicycle in their life, for the last fifteen years I have always vowed that one year I would learn to ride a bike. Unfortunately as soon as I start peddling the fear of falling off takes over and I stop. Maybe next year I will overcome the fear. It's particularly embarrassing as my children all learnt when they were 4 or 5. Do they make a tube of superglue that big Alex?

I'm definately going to lose weight. On Saturday, I could feel my tummy wobble as I was dancing. Started back playing 5 a side before Christmas but the knee has packed up again. I'm studying at the moment so I switch between the site and the books. The number of contributions I make are an indication of how well the studying is going.

'At work...unpaid' eh? Does not compute. My new year's resolution is to avoid booking any holidays until I've heard when the Undertones are playing over here. There is no way I'm going to miss this tour. Saw a gig last night by local band Shooglenifty (Acid Croft Trance Celtic Fusion sortathing) playing open-air as part of the Hogmanay celebrations. The first gig that has ever been stopped because of noisy big red giraffes. And no, I wasn't the only one seeing them. Excellent band. Happy New Year to you all. See you on tour next year!

doninblack on 12:52 31st-Dec-02 GMT #ec7-18551
Shooglenifty dedicated a song to Joe Strummer, which was a nice touch.

Everyone a happy, great and healthy new year. Looks like 2003 is going to be a great year for the undertones and moondogs. Both are in excellent shape and have great songs for release;hope we are going to meet lots of times

Jackie on 14:40 31st-Dec-02 GMT #81e-18553
Happy New year everyone, why arent the Tones on the Hootenanny this year then? Lindsay- if you've recovered from your trip- thankyou for my Miffy present!

donald on 16:25 31st-Dec-02 GMT #c65-18554
I love reading peoples reviews of gigs, the gig details and the surrounding events. Its especially important if people havent been to the gig - long live reviews. Heres to lots more in 2003. Farewell Strummer, Joey/Dee Dee Ramone, Spike Milligan and Richard Harris , theyll be missed. Have a humdinging hogmanay and New Year when it comes.

Vinny on 16:46 31st-Dec-02 GMT #1a3-18555
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE, HERE'S TO THE GIGS IN 2003!!

Lindsay on 17:45 31st-Dec-02 GMT #e3c-18556
No Jackie, I've not recovered but am in process of trying to (with a bottle of Bucks Fizz!?). Derry gigs are MAD! Arthur, you put us all to shame with your exertions. I failed miserably on the pogoing front (for me) - and then nearly fainted during the encore! Of course it would be a gross misconception to assume that this was due to too much to drink ;) or even the more popular misconception that I was so overcome seeing Damian again. Sad to admit the more likely explanation is that I was hungry, knackered and the temperature in there was steaming. Consequently, only caught the end bit of 'White Riot' (although it sounded well good from the loo!).

Lindsay on 17:47 31st-Dec-02 GMT #e3c-18557
Not got much time to chat (so I won’t do another review and annoy Wilke!) but just wanted to say, Great W/E, bloody brilliant Gig, atmosphere (hhhot!), sound ear-splittingly loud but who cares, Nice to meet everyone (some for the first time) and a massive big THANK YOU to Vinny, Deborah, Maureen & Wilke for the excellent Derry hospitality. The sweets were the least we could do (and it gave me an excuse to sneak in some fizzy cola bottles!). Keep the reviews coming everyone – what on earth would we talk about on here if there weren’t any? . Here’s to more gigs in 2003 (preferably no flying involved). HAPPY HUMDINGING NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL.

George on 18:21 31st-Dec-02 GMT #8b4-18558
I have managed to watch the local punk tribute band 1977 twice since Xmas and both nights have ended up being tributes to the Clash/Joe Strummer. They usually do about 3 Clash songs in the set but on both occasions did more. The last concert was very near to where Billy Elliot got filmed and by popular request/demand they ended up playing about 8 Clash songs. Unfortunately You Got my Number was one of the songs dropped to make way. Since I am teetotal I will not be having a drink tonight. If anyone wants to have my share you are more than welcome. Tell me how bad my head is feeling tomorrow!

wilke on 18:57 31st-Dec-02 GMT #01d-18559
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE SEE NEXT YEAR TSSY

Arthur on 22:31 31st-Dec-02 GMT #6ce-18561
Happy New Year to all. A big thank you to CMos for all the work he's put in again this year.
