Does anyone have any contact details for Marty Edwards from Derry (guy who did the new Undertones backdrop). If you do please email me the details.

Wilke I just saw your post asking about the Joe Strummer (Clash) tribute night. As far as I remember it is provisionally booked for Saturday 1st February in Sandinos. However it is being organised by the Socialist Workers Party (bunch of parasitic trots jumping on any band wagon that is going) - so I will be giving it a miss. Couldn't bear to be lectured by some twat on the relevance of dialectic materialism to The Clash. Although come the night I might be tempted to sneak in the back and provide a wee bit of anarchist opposition - you never know.

OK Lewis, and thanks for that explanation just before breakfast.

Here's one for CMOS. SFTYSR by DMR was a good album. Didn't like the later stuff. Got that?

Lee on 12:46 15th-Jan-03 GMT #64a-18916
Too easy Donin - even I got that quickly. IMO Rowland is a genius. Don't Stand Me Down was wonderful - one of those records you have to listen to what's going on rather than just listen to as a song. Made more fascinating for me because he was living in Birmingham at the time and mentions lots of places I know locally. Grew up not far from Moseley which certainly gets a mention. Stephen Duffy has also benefitted by me being a big fan of his. Anyone else know much of the old TinTin's work.

Lee on 12:46 15th-Jan-03 GMT #64a-18917
Back to Kevin Rowland - did anyone buy or hear the album he made recently when the dress appeared? I never got it and wouldn't mind a listen.

George on 13:57 15th-Jan-03 GMT #100-18918
I have at least one Stephen Tin Tin Duffy single. Was he not the original singer of Duran Duran. Since my middle initial is W I can assure Cactus that I will not be buying up thousands of Undertones LPs to drop in the middle east. Though if it was to stop a war! Should we not give the LPs to American GI's so they know what they could be losing in the pursuit of their President's folly.

Lewis on 15:32 15th-Jan-03 GMT #6a5-18920
Sorry Cliff didn,t meen to put you off your breakfast.

Lee, I was one of the 700 people who bought it. In the first instance its a good listen IMO - displays the customary passion and he does, as widely reported, open up his soul on 'his drugs hell'. After a few listens, however, it begins to grind. The arrangements are too MOR-ish and passionless. On balance, it deserved better, but its no classic.

Julius on 20:56 15th-Jan-03 GMT #450-18924
Just heard: Pete Townsend and Gary Glitter will record some songs together ('I hope I die before I get old' or 'Little drummer boy')

Julius on 20:57 15th-Jan-03 GMT #450-18925

George on 21:27 15th-Jan-03 GMT #bb1-18926
Just found out the Rezillos concert at the end of January is cancelled. Might need to travel up to Glasgow or Edinburgh in mid March to see them instead if no Undertones dates are announced for then.

George on 21:32 15th-Jan-03 GMT #bb1-18927
