After the last six years not even having a working radio in my old car, I have decided to splash out and get a CD fitted to my newer car tonight. Have just had to go home at lunchtime to get a suitable CD to christen my CD player. Choice of four CDs but will probably opt for the first LP cos it's faster. Knowing my luck the local toerags will knick it. I only live about an eight minute drive from work, so will probably never get past the third or fourth track.

I didn't Vinny - it was Alex who first spotted the resemblence, both bald and I was referring to it. No flies on Alex. You may remember that Good Vibrations went bust - it's now a fancy mens outfitters - quite sad to see. Well today I saw something that fair filled me with cheer. Walking through the arcade that leads on to Donegall Street in Belfast, I spied a newly opened record shop 'Cathedral Records' and inside was none other than one eyed Belfast boy Terri Hooley. He's back and I must admit, it was fucking great to see, you can't keep a good man down. We'd a bit of a natter and despite what must be his third attempt he's back doing what he loves - either very brave or very stupid, he doesn't know himself. It'll probably all end in tears but for the meantime - truely heartening - Belfast needs him or at least those of us who can feel dammed by this place do.

For anyone wanting a great gig tomorrow night (Friday 24th) see you all at The Limelight, Belfast for Omagh band `The Basement`- they are the next BIG thing!

Saw the Flaming Lips supporting Mercury Rev a couple of years back. They were really good but I found both bands a bit too 'Pink Floydy' for my simple tastes. Apparently they've roped Justin Timberlake in to play bass on the recording for TOTP tonight- hope they do horrid things to him afterwards.George I must get that guitar CD to you - apologies.

great news Arthur about Terry returning. Does he still sell the old good vibr stuff? I bought quite some singles over the phone from him over the last 2 years. It was great that you could buy these great singles for normal prices at the shop who were going enormous expensive at these recordfairs

Some of these singles are really gems. Do any of you remember the Bankrobbers, their 'on my mind' is a classic, some of the members later formed Energy Orchard and had a bit of fame in Germany. By the way: The Riplets will be supporting Sum41 next week

Yup - he sure does Julius. I'm pretty sure he had some Xdreamysts' 7' singles in. This brings me to another point - he always sells stuff cheap and he goes bust. There is a link there if only he could see it. He's not selling chart stuff now but his record shop should be the first port of call for anyone on this site. So if I get a number - would people ring in a few orders?

I know this is gonna sound nuts but if you do get stuff from him don't accept any discounts or he'll go bust again.

Julius, PP Slaggart has an album coming out in February. It features about 12 of his own material but I can say he has qrote many, many more classic tunes. I have most stuff he`s ever done including a lot of unheard demos. The album `Tales from the Whiskey Town` is going to be well worth waiting for. I`d love to send a copy of the album but I`m sorry that the executive producer who spent £0000s on it would go crazy. I could send earlier demos, if you email an address!

Well done Arthur, anything to keep Terri going. He shouldn't be a lost cause, he's too good for that. I talked to him once about a website and he nearly had a heart attack. On the DVD of TEENAGE KICKS, when it eventually comes out, I aim to get as many extra shots of Terri in as I can, like a wee silent and subtle tribute here and there.

I was thinking the same thing about a website for Terri Hooley. All he needs to do is get a site up with the name Good Vibrations in there somewhere and he'd get loads of hits. Not expensive to do something simple. I admire his passion for music, but doubt if he'll sell many Xdreamysts records nowadays. Hope he stays afloat.
