Hello. Just catching up. Been too busy at work recently to get my head around writing anything.

The new 'official site' is excellent and the news on it even better. After first seeing it I was struck by the thought that the band seem to be taking things a bit more seriously now; new website, rumours of tours, albums, sessions, loads of TV references, etc. Sounds like a serious, fully functional band to me, rather than a simple get together for a bit of fun and a few gigs! Quite scary for a fan in a way in case the 'specialness' goes, (but secretly what I've wanted to see for the past three or so years.) Does anyone else think like this?

Thanks those that did for the kind comments about TSTWT pictures. Lindsay: In the 'sign picture' I'm holding Buffy the Vampire Slayer. For some reason I was given her as a present when I was in the US and she travelled everywehere with me after that ; didn't realise I was such a big fan! Actually I've always prefered Willow. George: In case you're worried, the CD still plays fine. It just has a few more scratches.

Cactus is right, Catcus is wrong. I hadn't actually noticed until (Lindsay?) pointed it out. Mi spiling iss teribel enewai. The fact that this website exists is great so I'm proud to be known as Catcus to thank CMoS and everyone else who's contributed to it and given my life meaning again.

That sounds so insincere. What a creepy little swot I sound. Must be my new 'Harry Potter' glasses I got last week. There supposed to make me look like John Lennon by there you go. But Harry Potter's a fan of the Undertones and John O'Neil a bigger god than Lennon, so maybe that's not so bad.

Anyone heard the Bliss version of TK? 'Three rock chicks' do it live and it actually isn't that bad, if very clichéd. They have resexed the song too, him/her he/she etc. The CD also has a version of Sham 69's If the Kids Are United, (with the Are in the title replaced by R in that modern, trendy way), which is quite funny for some reason.

I really need the wisdom of others here. Can you still go to gigs after you reach the age of 40? (Standing at the back or sitting down on a real seat doesn't count.) Saw Sum 41 last year and felt verrrrry old. (They were really very good too.) Got very sore shoulders from all the stagediving teens. Has anyone ever stagedived at an Undertones gig? I can't recall ever seeing it.

I just read Jackie's message about the Moondogs and writing graffiti on bus seats. (Ulsterbus will be in contact over that shocking revelation I'm sure; the same seats are probably still in use.) I used to graffiti the word Undertones in the bottom right hand corner of every school book I used and every desk I sat at, for years. With little lines running out from the writing so it looked like the word was lit up. (I used Buzzcocks style lettering for some reason.) I Guess my next posting will have to come from deepest south America now.

What's the very worst thing anyone can say when you make a comment about the Undertones? Happened to me two weeks ago at work. The disbelief and total, sickening, numbing horror I felt is simply indescribable. She said, 'Who?'!!!!

BUZZCOCKS confirmed for Derry's Nerve Centre on Friday 2nd May. Always wanted to see them live, great stuff!

Going to be incommunicado for a while from tomorrow (nearly said incognito then, but probably that as well!) until I can get linked up again after the move. Will be able to catch up here the odd time at work next week and will email everyone with the new address etc when I can. Have a great time anyone going to Cork and London, really jealous I can't make it but look forward to reading the reviews (which, goes without saying, should be excellent at worst).

Bloody Hell. Whats happened to the site. I don't visit for a while and it all changes. All good though. Things have moved on a pace with the new website and gigs. I should get on the site more often. Nearly missed a gig (thanks stote). Going to London. What time are they on?

Cactus-you must mix with the wrong crowd. Everyone I've asked always heard of the band. Even the woman I sat next to at Donny this week had. And she was 13 when Donny was in his prime. (I mentioned them because I said Donny wasnt my favourite singer!!)

Have booked my rail ticket for London for 16th March. I hope no one on the site plans to take up stagediving at Undertones gigs. Jackie and Lindsay apart I don't think any of us (except possibly Derek) are as slim as in early 80's. Suppose AlexD will be a very happy bunny at the moment.

Derek - thanks for the offer but I can't go unfortunately. Got a big weekend planned for the family and then have to go to France for 2 days work. Unfortunately I've got to take 2 colleagues with me which reduces the amount of space to fill up in the car on the way home. Try this email address Derek. Vinny, won`t make the Buzzcocks gig in Derry as i`ll be at The Basement gig in Glasgow. They are also playing Empire, Belfast. Do give Pete and the lads my regards as I haven`t spoke to them in a while.
