Cliff, firstly thanks for lettng me use your spare passes. Cactus in particular wishes to thank you. just for the record I am not a journalist and I live in London. The Secret gig as i understand was organised by the festival and not for journos or record people. Secret only because the venue not big enought to advertise/hold a proper gig??? And i cant think of any more bollox expressions to beat yours. That was as close to the Casbah as you will ever get.

Thanks a mill to everyone who came to the shows. I didn't get much a chance to chat. The Porterhouse show was brill - I loved it. These are the types of shows we should be doing- small, intimate, fast, funny. These type of shows/venues brings out the best in the band. It allows us to express what are about - direct, passionate, fast. It was great meeting Jimmy Nesbitt at the open air show on Sunday. He's a real gent. Meeting him was a really exciting.

I took a few photos at the Porterhouse concert. You can barely make out any Undertones, but it probably does give a good idea of how small the venue was. I'll try and send them to official site. The lad who is normally in charge of the Undertones sound on stage (I think he is called Ian) was literally the 6th Undertones that night. He was stood about 2 feet in front of Damian with the sound equipment that must have been less than about 1 foot square and probably only had space for 5 inputs.

The more I think about THE weekend the more I cannot believe it was real. It must have been a dream surely. 2 free Undertones gigs, one in front of a crowd of thousands, the other as intimate as you could find, new songs (which are fantastic and had the young uns all dancing), meeting the band, etc. etc.etc. Could not possibly be real. I'll wake up soon.

George et al - if you are going to send the photos to the official site - can you not send them here as well. I ask because this site still is quite spontaneous wheras the official site is not, maybe because I can't access the chatroom.

It's nice to know that Billy enjoyed Sunday as well as those who managed to see both gigs. Also that he is as pleased to meet other celebrities (i.e. Jimmy Nesbitt) as we would be. Had a minibus driving exam tonight. Thankfully passed. First time I've had my driving examined in 15 years. Wonder if anyone knows a band who might need a driver for a tour of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Shrewsbury, Bristol and London?
