Well it's nice to know that dodgy penalties also get given in Scotland. Heskey would have been proud of the way Hartson fell over. Brave ref to give it to the away side in such an important match. Only three weeks for the May mini-tour. Haven't checked out accommodation yet. Haven't even checked for info. on the venues yet. CMoS on 08:40 28th-Apr-03 GMT #a5b-20865 Yoh Cliffy, dunno much about football but I know what I like. Do you get 6 points for one behind the goal and one over it ? Cliff on 09:43 28th-Apr-03 GMT #a6c-20867 You got it CMoS, and the maximum break is 147. Cliff on 09:46 28th-Apr-03 GMT #a6c-20868 I presume you're joking George, it was a 100% penalty. It's up for grabs now....but I'd still put money on Rangers for the treble and Celtic with nout. Cliff on 09:50 28th-Apr-03 GMT #a6c-20869 Thanks Vinny, silly me, BBC 1 it is.I'm trying to get some info on that goalkeeper for you. John on 18:37 28th-Apr-03 GMT #a9c-20870 Can anyone help me...I am convinced that the second album was called 'More songs about chocolate and girls' when it was first released in the UK...am I mad ??? AlexD on 11:40 28th-Apr-03 GMT #12c-20871 Definite penalty. The Record is being boycotted as a result of their headline of 'Thugs and Thieves' concerning three Celtic players at their Xmas party. No charges were ever brought and the Police Chief said it was a storm in a teacup but the Record decided to dedicate around seven pages including full front page to theie non-story. AlexD on 11:48 28th-Apr-03 GMT [www.Imadethelastoneupgeorge.com] #12c-20872 Their grovelling apology of an apology made it to page 28 in tiny letters. Saw the 'Tones poster on a trailer for ML today, looks like it's his house. At the top of the stairs, looks like the cover of the reissue of the first album. My liver has given up and refuses to go to Seville with me thanks Donald. Lee on 12:42 28th-Apr-03 GMT #64a-20873 Thanks Vinny. Email address attached. Hopefully the album will be waiting for me when I get home. If not you'll hear the sighs in Ireland! Lee @ on 12:42 28th-Apr-03 GMT #64a-20874 So it helps if I attach the email I guess! Lee on 12:47 28th-Apr-03 GMT #64a-20875 Even with all the defeats this season Saturday's 6-0 was the first game I've not enjoyed being at. Don't feel I can judge Liverpool - well organised at the back and can pump a nice long ball over the top for a couple of quick young lads to chase. For maybe the first time ever I found myself thinking of the other things I could have been doing. Only bright spot were the fans - absolutely superb. Cheering them on still and making so much noise. Loved the chants of 4-0 and you still don't sing, 4-0 which was quickly changed for the second verse to 5-0!!! Timing was impeccable. George on 13:38 28th-Apr-03 GMT #100-20876 At least I had the sense not to click on Alex's last web link. Hope I don't miss the storyline to Murphy's Law cos I'm that busy concentrating on spotting the poster. Cliff on 16:35 28th-Apr-03 GMT #71b-20878 Best fans in England are Albion, West Ham,Man City,Stoke, Burnley and maybe a few others in the lower divisions.Man U and Chelsea are great away from home when only their real fans can get tickets. Cactus on 17:42 28th-Apr-03 GMT #fe7-20879 Jackie: I was just concerned for your well-being. Not having instant acess to all four of the Undertones studio albums would be like not having access to one of your four limbs. What would you do if you had one of those 'Undertones moments' and only, for example, Bye Bye Baby Blue would do? Make the sacrifice, go without food or electricity if necessary and get yourself a copy you can play. Your spare wardrobe sounds a nice place by the way; I have a friend and she has a big trunk that serves much the same purpose. I rely on an old turntable bought by my father in 1968; still sounds great though. Cactus on 17:43 28th-Apr-03 GMT #fe7-20880 Cliff: Which pier is that? I'm confused. Cactus on 17:55 28th-Apr-03 GMT #fe7-20881 Saw Buzzcocks last night in London. Quite strange, very restrained audience. For a lot of the set not really a lot of people were dancing. The Undertones have a bigger punk following than Buzzcocks from what I saw too, interesting. A lot of the set was delivered in the style of the Ramones, with no breaks between the songs. Slightly veered towards ‘punk at Butlins’ at times, (please don’t let the Undertones end up like that). I enjoyed it because I really rate the band and think they write great songs, but I think the Undertones can taken'em! I ate far too much before I went and felt really really sick on the way home. (Not beer induced either). Had to sit at a very stange angle on the seat on the train so as not to throw up. Quite revolting really. Another quality review! Cactus on 17:57 28th-Apr-03 GMT #fe7-20882 One day I'll learn to spell and type correctly... Cactus on 18:03 28th-Apr-03 GMT #fe7-20883 Is anyone the least bit interested that I am slowing turning my entire collection of vinyl, tapes and CDs etc in MP3 files? I’ve reached Ci at the moment, having starting alphabetically at A (A is for A1 and Abba etc). (I should have started at U really.) It's going to take forever, but you would do it too if you had to commute on the train for 2.5 hours everyday. Cliff on 18:55 28th-Apr-03 GMT #2ca-20884 Souffend-On-Sea Cactus, thats where I live. cliff on 18:56 28th-Apr-03 GMT #2ca-20885 as a hatter John. Cliff on 19:01 28th-Apr-03 GMT #2ca-20886 Regarding eating to much before a gig, I've become particularly sad these last 2 years and make sure everything is organized for the gig itself.DONT eat to much, dont even drink to much(the whole thing could pass you by), wear trainers and now I even wear tracksuit bottoms coz jeans get sweaty and crusty(luvvly jubbly)and stick to your legs for the journey home. Also an elasticated waist lets you breath more easy(that proves I'm in my 40's). George on 20:01 28th-Apr-03 GMT #049-20888 I must be that tight fisted or mean spirited today that I went to give blood tonight and my body refused to give up my pint. Apparently my skin must have blocked the needle, but my arm still aches like hell. Suppose I had better get ready for Murphy's Law. Poster in his house at top of stairs. George on 20:05 28th-Apr-03 GMT #049-20889 How are we to tape the Peel session and take part in the online discussion without taping the whole two hours. Hopefully John Peel will play all four tracks consecutively at 10 sharp, then we can go online. Lindsay on 20:15 28th-Apr-03 GMT #936-20890 You have A1 albums too Cactus?? My commuting time is four minutes, 30 seconds (sorry!). Just enough for two Undertones tracks :) Will record ML as I'm not missing CS. Might assist my skills at spot the poster. Realised there's no way I could have gone to Germany - it's the weekend of Eurovision (so JP couldn't have gone either). PS. Jackie, I got some sandals!!! Arthur on 20:18 28th-Apr-03 GMT #868-20891 Cliff - Nooooooooooooo!!! Never ever mention elasticated waistbands on this site again. I'll put it down to temporary madness caused by Saturday's result. Christine @ on 21:19 28th-Apr-03 GMT #541-20893 Can't make any of the gigs in Germany due to family issues which is made worse by the fact that my friend's sister lives there so was going to sort out places to stay. At least I still have two turntables in my house. Jackie what were you thinking! Christine @ on 21:27 28th-Apr-03 GMT #541-20894 Must admit that some of the vinyl is not in the best condition due to constant over playing during my youth. Still nice to have afternoons just doing nothing put playing them - curiously addictive. And the hours whizz by. Ernie on 21:45 28th-Apr-03 GMT #5b2-20895 I agree Arthur!! Last time I wore elasticated waist banded trousers was in Primary Four. They also had stirrup straps fitted to the legs that went under your foot and you slipped your shoes over them! Cactus on 22:14 28th-Apr-03 GMT #fe7-20896 Cliff: It’s certainly longer than Wigan pier! Is it open to the public now? The last time I saw the pier at Souffend-On-Sea (must be Thames Estuary English) is when I fell asleep on a train last year and ended up one stop from Southend by mistake. I meant to get off at Chafford Hundred to go to the Lakeside Shopping Centre but those new c2c trains are so comfy. I have a couple of photos I took of the pier whilst I was waiting to get a train back. Cactus on 22:19 28th-Apr-03 GMT #fe7-20897 Lindsay: To borrow George's phrase; Nooooooooooooo!!! I don't actually have any A1 albums. I do however have a slightly modest 1 CD single collection of A1 songs, but then everyone like Take On Me don't they? Worth it for the totally funny video that's on the CD. Cactus on 22:22 28th-Apr-03 GMT #fe7-20898 Make that's Arthur's phrase! Must be the disappointment of finding out that the West Ham scarf I ordered at the weekend isn’t available anymore has turned my head. Discontinued apparently. Cactus on 22:25 28th-Apr-03 GMT #fe7-20899 I used to have a ten minute walk to my job, then I changed jobs. Commuting builds character anyway. Cactus on 22:35 28th-Apr-03 GMT #fe7-20900 I seem to return from most gigs these days feeling sick. Think I'm getting too old for it all. I didn’t go to any for many years, but the Undertones reforming gave me the encouragement to go again, No, really. A year or two ago I spent ten minutes after seeing China Drum, staring at a crisp packet on the floor trying to stop myself from being sick. (I’m not sure now what the importance of the crisps was.) Last year I saw No Use for A Name (hottest gig ever) and almost fainted on the way out, a very scary out of body experience; I also managed to loose a contact lens there very early on so never did see the band properly. Going to see if I can remain with it tomorrow seeing Cinerama. My legs are still sore from yesterday. Bought plane tickets to go to Hamburg today. Got to get fit to show the Germans how to behave at an Undertones gig. Cliff on 22:36 28th-Apr-03 GMT #934-20901 It is open to the public Cactus, where do you live? Saw Murphys Law, first album poster in his flat at top of stairs.Maybe my one is in a later eopisode? Sorry Arthur but those elastics are comfy man...and you're result wasn't so good either. Cliff on 22:38 28th-Apr-03 GMT #934-20902 George, Henry has sorted accomodation for the 3 of us in Cologne...about 20 euros each. Lindsay on 22:45 28th-Apr-03 GMT #716-20903 Saw the poster, bit blurry though. Cactus, I used to commute a lot, didn't do anything for me as far as I know! I've also been to Wigan Pier on a 6th form trip but wasn't taking much interest and recall spending most of the day in a pub called Busy Bees, which was quite a silly name for a pub really. Christine, much of my vinyl collection has also been played into the ground but I wouldn't part with any of it. I also used to wear stirrup trousers to gigs but no elasticated waist bands, they're not cool really are they (Cliff you must be very warm!!). WILKE on 22:51 28th-Apr-03 GMT #2e0-20904 well all this talk about elasticated waist have to let you lot know that i`m down from a 42 waist to a 38 on the way to a 36 so at the next gig i`ll be the thin one standing beside arthur[only joking buddy] donald on 22:55 28th-Apr-03 GMT #212-20905 The poster had a good position on 'Murphys Law' . Sadly it was the best part of the show. Dont own elasticated trouser except my old track suit bottoms that are used for the garden (gardening is the new Rock n Roll'). Arthur - how was Paul Mccartney - did he play the frog chorus. Off to look out my elastcited trousers, cardigan and pipe for Death in Vegas tomorrow (after a bit of gardening in the afternoon). Lindsay on 23:01 28th-Apr-03 GMT #c3d-20906 We won't recognise you Wilke. Will just have to look out for someone dancing on the tables!
