Musings
Moondogs album is just on cd as far as I know. Arthur on 12:05 2nd-May-03 GMT #989-20986 George - could you e-mail me your adddres and I will return your video. Couldn't get out to the Buzzcocks/Moondogs gig last night which was very dissapointing but I've heard 'Getting Off in Amsterdam' by the Moondogs on local radio and it does sound great. Arthur @ on 12:06 2nd-May-03 GMT #989-20987 Forgot my e-mail. wilke on 12:34 2nd-May-03 GMT #2e0-20988 buzzcocks tonight great stuff. Lee on 12:42 2nd-May-03 GMT #64a-20989 Yep - Getting Off in Amsterdam is good. It's on a promo 'single' sent to radio stations along with another track Everyday Things, which is not on the album strangely. It's not the best track IMO on the album - but there are so many strong tracks on it. Go out and buy it or order it now. Cliff on 12:44 2nd-May-03 GMT #db7-20990 got your message Wilke, I can do a t-shirt for Maureen, no problem. No arrow shirts left now, sorry. wilke on 13:17 2nd-May-03 GMT #2e0-20991 thanks cliff just e mail you address so i can send you the money have sent you an e mail about the size of the t shirts i`am looking for any plands for a tour t shirt like the amsterdam one talk soon see ya doninblack on 17:05 2nd-May-03 GMT #ec7-20992 Two Good Vibes TK's on ebay at the moment - both with currents bids over £30! The Cold Feet effect I wonder? Jimmy Nesbitt has probably hot a few copies stashed away for his retirement. Enjoy the Buzzcocks whoever is going. I heard that they are great on this tour, with loads of oldies and good new stuff too. Cliff on 17:12 2nd-May-03 GMT #cbd-20993 No plans for Germany t-shirts from me, although it would be great if there were official ones same design as the poster shown on the .com site. Cliff on 19:06 2nd-May-03 GMT #71b-20994 I think the t-shirt thing has run its course now.Its something I'd wanted to do before I found this website but now we all have t-shirts I think I'd be flogging a dead horse doing anymore. The only design I'd still like to make is the 'YGMN' design but I only have a photo of the front.Oh, and maybe 'see no more tour'...I loved those designs. Cliff on 19:18 2nd-May-03 GMT #71b-20995 I was asked the other day which actors/actresses films would I always want to watch...or avoid. My answers were:Robin Williams, Clint Eastwood, Tom Hanks, Woody Allen and Hugh Grant to watch. The ones I'd avoid...Mel Gibson,Tom Cruise and Richard Gere. How about you? Vinny on 19:19 2nd-May-03 GMT #360-20996 LIAM MAILEY: Is your mobile f#cked? I haven't got your home number here...Do you wanna come to our house before heading down town? We're having a few lemonades!! Looking forward to The Buzzcocks tonight at The Nerve Centre, Derry George on 19:42 2nd-May-03 GMT #882-20997 Tatu are on TOTP now. It is almost an exact copy of the first single. Enjoy the Buzzcocks anyone who is going. Thanks for booking the hotel in Cologne Henry. AlexD on 20:21 2nd-May-03 GMT #fdf-20998 I ordered the YGMN t-shirt from 11345 records, mind you that was on the 12th March, after some fairly rude e-mails from me they say it should be here early next week. Not holding my breath (couldn't drink otherwise). Out of your choices I'd probably go for Woody Allen, Tom Hanks is good but there's something irritating about him. Paul Newman is usually good. AlexD on 20:30 2nd-May-03 GMT #fdf-20999 You must be jiving about Hugh Grant, he is a complete Jodrell. Laurel and Hardy now we're talking, and a wee bit of Norman Wisdom on a Sunday afternoon. AlexD on 20:31 2nd-May-03 GMT #fdf-21000 How can you tell with the sound down G? :) Cactus on 22:17 2nd-May-03 GMT #9a9-21001 Listening to a bit of Clash just now. Hardly ever listen to music through decent headphones and I’m rather concerned to hear what seems to be raining falling in the background on most tracks. (That’s crackles to the CD generation.) These are proper records, 7” singles! Arthur on 22:31 2nd-May-03 GMT #266-21002 By and large actors are defined by the films they do - rule of thumb; if Gene Hackman is in it, it'll have some merit. I've never been able to see why people rave about Michael Caine and Sean Connery, they're the same bloody charecters in every film. Cactus on 22:32 2nd-May-03 GMT #9a9-21003 Saw Cinerama last Tuesday in London. David Gedge really is Mr Charisma! Very bloody hot and a surprisingly pogoey experience, managing to put the Buzzcocks crowd from a couple of days earlier to shame. Very good and about four Wedding Present songs too. I’m sure all will be pleased to know I managed to stay relatively sick free this time. Decided not to go for the elasticated waist despite Cliff’s sensible advice, but didn’t eat anything all day; except at the station on the way cause I was so hungry by then so stuffed myself there with rubbish, which rather defeated the point. Arthur on 22:32 2nd-May-03 GMT #266-21004 I meant characters. Cactus on 22:34 2nd-May-03 GMT #9a9-21005 Cliff: Wasn't the pier shut for a time? (Maybe it was about 20 years ago come to think of it!) AlexD on 22:47 2nd-May-03 GMT #96d-21006 Like the Poseidon Adventure? Cactus on 22:47 2nd-May-03 GMT #9a9-21007 It's a foul night tonight, all wind and rain. Glad I'm inside. Yesterday I went to the opening of something, which managed to combine my very least favourite music genres, live opera, jazz and singing Brownies! And I didn’t win anything in the raffle; I really fancied that tin of biscuits or the candle in a glass too… Cactus on 22:47 2nd-May-03 GMT #9a9-21008 Poseidon Adventure is a great film! AlexD on 22:52 2nd-May-03 GMT #96d-21009 I caught a great film by chance last week, Sling Blade with Billy Bob Thornton. Well worth a watch. AlexD on 22:53 2nd-May-03 GMT #96d-21010 Yeah all that's missing is Hugh Grant !!! Cactus on 22:54 2nd-May-03 GMT #9a9-21011 Ice Cold in Alex; my favourite black and white film ever. Anthony Quayle very good, all South African accent and round legs. Oh yes, Teenage Kicks was played on XFM in London in the week at 6:28am (Tuesday I think). AlexD on 22:56 2nd-May-03 GMT #96d-21012 Just thought. One Flew Over... that was brilliant. The Godfather wins though, outstanding film. AlexD on 23:04 2nd-May-03 GMT #96d-21013 Ray Winstone, he's good. I remember seeing Scum and thinking, don't fancy that borstal thing much. And it put me off greenhouses for life. Cactus on 23:08 2nd-May-03 GMT #9a9-21015 Got a bit of a soft spot for Michael Douglas. Falling Down is a really good film; haven't we all wanted to behave like he does during the first part of the film? Shame he turns into a nutty wife beater by the end. The Game is a good film too. AlexD on 23:19 2nd-May-03 GMT #96d-21016 Apparently Catherine does too. Cactus on 23:50 2nd-May-03 GMT #9a9-21017 In a different way though. AlexD on 00:10 3rd-May-03 GMT #96d-21018 Whatever lights your candle! wilke on 00:54 3rd-May-03 GMT #2e0-21020 by the wAY I `M PISS TALK SOON SEE YA Vinny on 01:25 3rd-May-03 GMT [www.theundertones.com] #360-21021 FALLING DOWN is one of my fave films.... By the way, first reaction, first review(sometimes not a good idea, maybe it is?) THE BUZZCOCKS were great tonight BUT Jaysus was the sound loud!! We talked to loadsa people who left early as they couldn't stick it any longer, they said it was far too loud to hear what the songs were even(these were teenagers!!). I thought it was great to see The Buzzcocks in Derry but after that novelty wore off, it was more a case of 'Am I ever gonna hear my children speak to me again??' All I can hear now is ringing in my ears mixed with a guilt of leaving early but there was no choice.. too loud for a such a small venue? Apart from that, they were excellent live!!
