Musings
Did the Major make that one up? Or did Mr Smirnoff have something to do with it! I didn't see the penalties but 3 in one game does seem a bit excessive. Yorkshire dialect is easy - we don't need words, we just slap anyone who gets in our way. Actions speak louder and all that.. The Buzzcocks got a good write up at Shepherds Bush (no complaints about the sound either, although maybe he had to type the review cos he was suffering temporary deafness). Lindsay on 10:12 5th-May-03 GMT #9d9-21107 Sorry that doesn't make sense does it!! Maybe I should go back to bed. Did anyone do the IQ test last night? Apparently you Derry lot are more intelligent than anyone!? Must be the result of an inspirational musical upbringing. I think Anne fixed the Welsh result though! I got 104 (down from 109 last year), was average for Leeds, my age, my salary and my birthweight. Started well, memory no probs, became totally illogical and then played a blinder on the jigsaws! wilke on 10:36 5th-May-03 GMT #2e0-21108 thanks cliff.alex i din`t get the joke must be some code for football ball fans.so talk soon see ya George on 10:44 5th-May-03 GMT #27f-21109 I missed the start of the IQ test but got all the maths and jigsaw questions right. At the end when they were giving you the answers I got the majority right before Anne Robinson revealed the answer. She would be useless without her autocue. I see being teetotal is supposed to make me less intelligent. I thought Alex was trying to overtake Cliff's posting tally with his tale. It's a pity with having to scroll down the page you get to read the punchline first. Lee on 12:49 5th-May-03 GMT #64a-21110 Nice one Alex - but what a dreadful attempt at getting on to the posting tally leader board. Lee on 12:54 5th-May-03 GMT #64a-21111 Has anyone else got Red Fish yet? You know when you have a strong album when each time you play it you end up with a different favourite. Even with only 1 song that I wasn't familiar with I haven't stopped playing the album and each time end something else has caught my attention. From the pop genius of Bring on the Sunshine, with hints of the keyboard sound from Here Comes the Summer, to the track Julius mentioned, Oh No (Wonderful strings sound in the mix reminding me of the Beatles sound) and a batch of equally superb power pop classics such as I Only Called in to say Hi, How Can I Tell Her, It Feels so Good......The mix of the tracks also makes them stand out so if anyone downloaded them way back on the Moondogs site they are far better than those versions. Lee on 12:55 5th-May-03 GMT #64a-21112 So when's the latest estimate for release of the Undertones album? Lindsay on 14:35 5th-May-03 GMT #ec0-21113 Wilke, are you just trying to prove the theory wrong!! (although I have to admit it took me a few minutes:) We should be used to Alex's drink-induced bad jokes by now. Ask Maureen to explain it to you but it has nothing to do with football. Suspect the 'Hoop'ing Coff bit was added as extra though - very clever! Lee, can you post the details of where to get the Moondogs CD. I've either lost it or I never had it (bit like my brain faced with numbers). Will be even more brain dead after X-Men 2 later. Absolute disgrace having to pay for the priviledge of sleeping in a cinema. wilke on 16:56 5th-May-03 GMT #2e0-21114 hi lindsy just back from x men 2 very good show will have to read the joke once more .tssy Cliff on 17:20 5th-May-03 GMT #cbd-21115 Two great comedies on the TV today.First was that film I mentioned the other day, 'Its a Mad,Mad,Mad,Mad world',and then even funnier... the Ladies Cup Final. wilke on 18:14 5th-May-03 GMT #2e0-21116 cliff did you get the e mail i sent you with my address.dont let maureen hear you slagging womens football shes a big fan Cliff on 20:11 5th-May-03 GMT [theundertones.net/cgi-bin/under10.pl] #cbd-21117 Remember the early days on here when CMoS came up with '60 minutes'...voting for your favourite Undertones set? we were pleased to see it reach 50 voters, well look at it now on the link above. George on 20:31 5th-May-03 GMT #5aa-21118 30 years ago today that Sunderland won the FA Cup. Saw the punk tribute band this afternoon. The encore lasted almost an hour. It almost ended up being a request show. They still can't play Jimmy Jimmy properly. Haven't the heart to point out all their mistakes. Just pleased they still include one Undertones song in the set. George on 20:33 5th-May-03 GMT #5aa-21119 Is CMoS going to have to update the 60 minutes when the new album comes out? Lee on 21:24 5th-May-03 GMT [www.bbc.co.uk/northernireland/firststop/diary/watchtheshow.shtml] #266-21120 Moondogs appearance on BBC2 show First Stop can be seen at the link if you have Real Player.
