Cant agree with you there Jackie.Danielle was Rickys wife on eastenders a few years ago.I remember that outtake from Sian, good sense of humour and a sexy girl...its a sad reflection on the great British public she got voted off.Not that I watch it mind ;-)

Arthur on 12:34 7th-May-03 GMT #df1-21161
I say 'Go on big Phil Tuffnell!' even though I don't like or understand cricket. Nicknamed 'the cat' not because he's agile or has lightening reflexes but because he's really lazy for a sportsman and likes to sleep a lot. What a bloke, he smokes and drinks - it'd be sorta funny if he won it over the completly dedicated Fash. If ever someone was aptly named, it was Catalina, she should be on her way tonight.

Lee on 12:43 7th-May-03 GMT #64a-21162
Crap actress and miserable git is how I'd sum her up - but then I'm not in a being nice mood given that I'm supposed to be moving house in 48 hours and no-one can decide if it's all on or not. Isn't she more famous for being addicted to everything addictable in the world and losing the centre piece of her nose because she snorted too much? So now she has a plastic nose and various other bits of silicone I'd guess.

And these are words which I'd never thought I'd be saying on the radio again, a new single from 'The Undertones'
Do you remember,
I used to say
All the sweetest things to
Make you stay
I kept believing
Things would change
That these delusions
Were nothing strange
I never thought you loved me
I had to leave the world behind
Like the open sky above me
You thrill me all the time
I've known emotions
Would wear me down
If dew were kisses
I'm already drown
Got my expression
Can't make you see
The hesitation that would
Come over me
I never thought ..
I see everything you do (Oh la la)
I've done everything you say (Oh la la)
I can't get close to you (Oh la la)
But maybe some day (Oh la la)
Hey maybe some way (Oh la la)
[Solo]
I never thought ..
You thrill me all the time
(2:54s)
Well that Jon O'Neill hasn't lost his touch at all has he ?
That's the new single from the undertones not quite sure when it goes into the shops but its call 'Thrill Me' anyway
Its on Four Us records the catalogue number is FU028 and you can hear that band in session not this Wednesday but tomorrow week right here on Radio 1

wilke on 12:48 7th-May-03 GMT #2e0-21166

Arthur on 13:27 7th-May-03 GMT #df1-21168
CMos - has it been played on the radio?

Arthur on 13:28 7th-May-03 GMT #df1-21169
Did Peel play it last night?

Arthur on 13:38 7th-May-03 GMT #df1-21170
I'll answer me own question. Yes John Peel did play it - last night.

Cliff on 13:40 7th-May-03 GMT #71b-21171
CMoS, if you learnt to speak english it really would be most helpful ;-)...But amazingly after seeing the lyrics to 'thrill me' the tune has come straight back to me.

CMoS on 13:43 7th-May-03 GMT #296-21172
Those words are an extract extract from peelie's show last night...

Cliff on 13:45 7th-May-03 GMT #71b-21173
actually, its all pretty exciting isn't it.

Arthur on 14:05 7th-May-03 GMT [www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/alt/johnpeel/] #df1-21174
If you follow the link - you should be able to listen to last night's show. 'Thrill Me2 is about the third song he played.

cliff on 14:26 7th-May-03 GMT #6a9-21175
Good work Arthur, but I'm pressing play and nothings happening.

Arthur on 14:35 7th-May-03 GMT #df1-21176
That happened to me too. I naturally assumed it was because I'm incompetent. CMos - if you've not been too wounded by Cliff's earlier comments, could you try? P-l-e-e-e-e-e-z-e!

wilke on 14:51 7th-May-03 GMT #2e0-21177

Arthur on 15:56 7th-May-03 GMT #7d5-21178

Cliff on 16:45 7th-May-03 GMT #cbd-21183
CMoS, you're a genius of epic proportions. It's Just like being a kid again, I've played it 4 times so far and little Olivers dancing on the bed.

CMoS i hope you realise that by putting that MP3 on there it is going to be downloaded by people and end up all over the place. Ever heard of copyright?

CMoS on 17:12 7th-May-03 GMT #1ed-21187
As mentioned previously Liam the track is available from the bbc from the peel archives. ... Real Player ... But I've removed it since you mention it.

arthur on 17:15 7th-May-03 GMT #7d5-21188
when I click on your link - I just get directed to the Home Page. You make an interesting point - how can you break a copyright of something that is already readily available on the web?

Arthur on 17:17 7th-May-03 GMT #7d5-21189
Oh you've taken it off now, haven't you.

CMoS on 17:44 7th-May-03 GMT #1ed-21191
That first chorus is definately 'I never thought you UGLY'

Cliff on 17:49 7th-May-03 GMT #cbd-21192
Hold on a minute. As CMoS says this is now available on the JP site to listen to and as a fan of the Undertones CMoS is simply making it easier for other fans to find.Isn't that what this site should be about? We've all swapped tapes, Videos etc, whats the difference?

CMoS on 17:55 7th-May-03 GMT [www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/alt/johnpeel/peelenium_1970.shtml] #1ed-21194
TK as composed bu O'Neill ! chosen as top track form 1978

Arthur on 17:57 7th-May-03 GMT #7d5-21195
Well said Cliff - I put the link up previously, isn't it one and the same thing!

Cliff on 18:35 7th-May-03 GMT #7e3-21197
well, I'm not exagerating to say its right up there with the very best Undertones stuff, IMO.When JP says 'this is something I never thought I'd say again, the new single from The Undertones'...it brings a tear to the eye.Am I turning into a girl? For the record it lasts 2 min 56 secs.(thats the song, not me being a girl).

Arthur on 18:48 7th-May-03 GMT #7d5-21198
Yes you are Cliff. More tears than Daniella 'all me friends are in rehab' Westbrook. But it does sound great hearing Peel introduce it and you can tell he likes it.

AlexD on 19:05 7th-May-03 GMT #ebb-21199
I e-mailed Jonathan Ross to play JJ when James Nesbitt's appears on Friday's show. Just a thought! Song sounds great, Paul sounds different, still good but different. Oh well off to see the Celts go top of the league now:)

Jackie on 19:29 7th-May-03 GMT #63f-21200
Hells bells, I've not heard it yet- I'm on Peels site but I'm having to listen to the whole show somehow....

Jackie on 19:41 7th-May-03 GMT #63f-21201
wilke I've emailed you- thanks a million mate! I've heard Thrill Me now- brilliant! But why do I feel like I've never heard it before? No doubt I'll be singing it LOUD tomorrow!

doninblack on 20:31 7th-May-03 GMT [www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/alt/johnpeel/] #00e-21202
Thrill Me it did. Fab, catchy, urgent number. Echoes of the first album, with the added spice of the new vocals. Hope this gets more airplay, to attract a new audience. Nice one lads. Thanks for the link Arthur, and the (oops - censored) attempt CMoS.

George on 21:05 7th-May-03 GMT #51f-21203
Hasn't everyone been busy posting messages. Took 20 minutes to catch up. Managed to play Thrill Me, but downloading files over the net seems to add a bit of special effects into the mix. Makes Paul sound more quivery. Still catchy as hell. All we have to do is now get our hands on a copy! Wonder if my twins want one as a birthday present?, autographed and a week late. Back to John Peel to play it again.

Vinny on 21:19 7th-May-03 GMT [www.travel-guide.com/data/deu/deumap.asp] #360-21204
For those lucky enough to be going to Germany, have a wee look at this handy link

Cactus on 21:19 7th-May-03 GMT #bd7-21205
Didn't think a bit of music could move me so much. Totally amazing, can't remember the last time I head a song so good. I remember hearing the news about the Undertones splitting up in ‘83. My friend Simon rang me to tell me to put the radio on (David 'Kid' Jensen). Chain of Love was playing and at the end of it he gave the news. Totally devastating. Don't mind admitting that I cried a bit. Everyone is supposed to remember where he or she was when Kennedy was shot (think I was probably in a pram or cot) but where I was when I heard about the Undertones, now that’s one of the things that I will remember forever. (In my bedroom at home, all alone, with a small, black radio/cassette.) Now I can remember where I was when I heard the new single. (In my bedroom at home, all alone, with a dodgy Internet connection!)

Cactus on 21:20 7th-May-03 GMT #bd7-21206
To think, I've had 20 years to come up with that!

Cactus on 21:23 7th-May-03 GMT #bd7-21207
Think I'll have a drink to celebrate.

Liam @ on 21:36 7th-May-03 GMT [www.theundertones.com] #bb9-21208
No it isn't the same as being on the BBC site. On there it is a streamed file which is copyrighted to the BBC. The file you made available is captured from that broadcast and turned into a mp3 and made available for download. Not the same at all. If I was in a band and was releasing a new single I wouldn't like a bad quality MP3 to be doing the rounds on the internet before the single hit the shops. But them again this is your site so it's up to you what you put on it (legal or otherwise). Heard the show and it sounds fucking great!

Cliff on 21:42 7th-May-03 GMT #6a9-21209
Stop being a big girl Cactus, cried indeed ;-) It is a brilliant song, I've played it over and over tonight and its the best choice from what I've heard so far. When they played it live On St Pats day it didnt stick in my mind, I cant think why, yet 'She wants everything' is still in my mind.Anyway Cactus, dont get yourself to excited, your heading for a fall on Sunday.

Liam on 21:43 7th-May-03 GMT #bb9-21210
Anyway that's just my opinion - so I am probably talking bollocks anyway - sounds great where ever ye hear it.

wilke on 21:47 7th-May-03 GMT #2e0-21211
have to say it once moondogs cd F&%$^%$ great undertones single great great great .lindsy sent you an e mail did you get

doninblack on 22:44 7th-May-03 GMT #cab-21212
Jackie, Thrill Me is one of the newer songs (I think). They certainly didn't play it in Holland. So maybe you're like me and heard it for the first time tonight. Anyone know a release date yet?

AlexD on 23:27 7th-May-03 GMT #9f4-21213
Cheers Vin, I think most will be useful but hope I don't need all of them:) Better go and check the League, oops don't have to the Green Brazilians are back on top, and all is well in the world.

Cactus on 23:39 7th-May-03 GMT #bd7-21214
Cliff: It was a very emotional experience. I’ve probably never fully recovered from the trauma of it. Actually this weekend will be another time for celebration I think. If you could only have one, would you go for either a new Undertones album or Albion staying in the Premiership?

Cactus on 23:40 7th-May-03 GMT #bd7-21215
Is John Peel going to play it again tonight?

Cactus on 23:41 7th-May-03 GMT #bd7-21216
Listening to John Peel. New Undertones single. Who turned the clock back?
