No Alex not a happy one, I'd rather see Albion struggle at the highest level.You have to remember that we havent always been as we are now.In the days when The Undertones were in the charts Albion beat Valencia in the UEFA Cup(I went to Spain),finished 3rd & 4th in what is now the Prem, and regularly caned United, 4-0, 4-0, and 5-3 at Old Trafford.Once you've seen that you hope it will one day come back.

New Moondogs Redfish and John Peel session CD arrived today. Only got to hear two tracks on way to work. Have also ordered New Undertones single this morning. Hopefully will arrive in time for Germany. Might even give my twins a copy for their birthday on Saturday.

So many bad (and thus totally untrue of cause) things people are saying about poor West Ham! You can always find some cute kittens or puppies to kick if you really want to be mean. :-(

Chris Packham might be an Undertones fan but he costs £1000 for half an hour of his time. I work for a charity and he's charging us that much to come along to an event; and apparently he's doing us a favour. Might be quite funny to get him to do something Undertonesey (is that a word)to get better value for money.

Yes the Monochrome Set were excellent. When I was 'in my youth', the Undertones were the best band in the world, Buzzcocks second and the Monchrome Set third.

'Eine Symphonie' is my favourite single of all time Cactus. Oops, shouldn't be saying that on here! A more uniquely well-crafted song would be hard to find (YGMN excepted), can't understand any of the words, it's just got that 'atmosphere'. Spine-tingly good. I keep it in a special plastic sleeve just for preservation purposes! (along with my Westlife singles - joke!)

I had the same problem with trying to speak to Joe at Rough Trade this morning. Thankfully Joe is not the only one capable of handling telephone orders. This time next week I should have an autographed copy. Message from the fan club recommending listening to Richard Allinson on Radio 2 tonight. 2 'old' songs to be played. Will have to find out what wave length R2 is on to tape it.

Having to play the Moondogs CD a second time. Don't think I played it loud enough the first time. I might ask my neighbours what they think in the morning. Is the first track 'Getting off in Amsterdam' a reference to anything that might have happened at the Undertones concert at the Paradiso last year? I think 'Bring on the Sunshine' is the most likely to be a hit, receive radio airplay or be used as a backing track to all the holiday programmes.

Eine Symphonie Des Grauens (Symphony of Horror) is probably one of the Top Ten songs ever. (On Rough Trade Records, for anyone looking for an Undertones link.) 1979 Totally wonderful record, (and no I don't have a clue what it's about either). First heard it played by John Peel (when he used to get use of Radio 2's FM frequency in the evenings in the old days), in the middle of nowhere in a cottage in Scotland on a family holiday there. Weird how you can recall such details.

Lindsay: I work for an environmental charity. If I think I can get away with it, I might try and wear an Undertones t-shirt and see if it attracts the attention of the wonderful Chris Packham. Must remember to take my camera, must remember to take my camera... Actually, must remember to take something lobster like and try and get a picture of him with it!

Richard Allinson didn't have a clue what he was on about, obviously reading from notes.'Its gonna happen' was from probably their best album....'Perfect Touch'.The Undertones made some great balads including 'Beautiful Friends'.Oh well, atleast it was different I suppose.
