REM were fab on TV last night, but my God BBCs coverage was shite. Why did they have the same bands (not REM!) on at the same time on BBC2 and BBC3? And I want to punch Jo Wiley. We could have seen 50% more music if they'd shut up. Even Peel got on my nerves. I am definately going to dust the tent off for next year- anyone on here been before? Festivals are not my bag at all, but it looked so much fun last night... Really put me in the mood for Old Trafford in 2 weeks... Cant the Undertones be slotted in at the last minute? As it is I will have to suffer Idlewild instead!

Great to have Glastonbury on at the w/e. Thought Primal Scream were great, the Music interesting and only saw the start of REM. I went once in 91 or 93 (its always a bit vague after a w/e there). the headliners were Oasis and Pulp who replaced the Stone Roses. Saw about 50 bands in 3 days, great for sorting out who can really play live. Would recommend it to anyone, its a really special place. Might feel a bit old now, (it looked like a 5th form party at the front rows last night) but theres always a great cross section of people.Buy a tent Jacki.

The punk book is by colegrave and sullivan, just to make sure it is the same one you are looking at malc. Doninblack is the big stranglers fan. It was the book that persuaded me to go and buy the velvet underground tape. been checking e-bay for mc5 stuff but don't know it is good.

My 1000th posting I saved for the news that today I won the North East old man's championships for the 800 metres and also the high jump. And improved on my season's best for both events into the bargain. Unfortunately not many people turn up for the championships. Nothing I can do about that. Now if Steve Cram had turned up I would be pleased to be in the finishing straight at the same time. Didn't see the Glastonbury festiva cos' I had an another early. I can let my hair down now (what's left of it!) and have late nights now the championships are over. I only have the father's race at my kids school sports day to look forward to now.
