Thanks Lindsay,Cmos did give a tip about the e-mail address but that doesn't seem to work either.Having said that when it comes to coputers I make a good bricklayer!! michael bradley on 11:47 10th-Jul-03 GMT #c2d-22395 cactus - the TOTP clip shows ME playing (miming) the organ for Here Comes The Summer. I played it on the original recording, and so qualified to perform it on TV. I also remember I was wearing a blue T shirt with 'Punk' on it, which my mother bought me. Don't have it anymore, unfortunately. My mother's now 82 and no longer buys clothes for me. By the way, looking at the old stuff on the site, and the interview from 1993, I actually laughed out loud at the bit where Billy discovers he has no songs on the compilation. Arrthur on 11:45 10th-Jul-03 GMT #f84-22397 Very funny Cliff (left to right; John, Damian, Billy and Michael). Seeing the link from 1999 makes you realize how far the band have come. Single, Peel ession and new album. Its fantastic and this website certainly deserves praise - well done mate. I know this board is good but sometimes I think it can exclude newcomers, not deliberately but with all the security etc it may put people off a little. Adrian @ on 11:48 10th-Jul-03 GMT #7b4-22401 Cactus, the Horslips site is very good.I know few people on here will be interested music wise but for humourous messages and 'banter'it takes some beating. mark (Undertones Cornish contingent!) on 11:48 10th-Jul-03 GMT #179-22415 I was at the Lyceum gig but sadly cant remember much about it.We were also at Selhurst Park in July.I remember goading my Peter Gabriel loving brother in law with the NME review the next week,it read something like,'Men V Machines,Undertones win',maybe one of you can recall the exact words. The NME was telling us what we already knew.Didnt bother to watch Gabriel either, what a sad venue to end at,in front of a mainly non appreciative audience. Cactus, yes there are loads of other band sites out there, the Slade site on ezboard linked to the 'Slade in England' website is superb,as are most of the contributors, they are like you lot, very knowledgable and some are VERY funny.I checked out the WEEZER site too,as i love their music, only to find that the contributors are all about six mentally!!! Rick on 09:16 10th-Jul-03 GMT #2a9-22445 Jackie - it's the end of episode 1 of Remembrance of the Daleks where the Dalek climbs the stairs. My Feargal story is when I was in a night club in London in the late '80's Feargal was there staggeringly drunk leching at females and falling over people. This dulled my admiration of him a bit. Like my disappointing experience of meeting Morrissey - you should never meet your heroes. Arthur on 10:23 10th-Jul-03 GMT #e82-22446 Did you know Tom Baker was a monk for a number of years. His autobiography is around the house somewhere - I'll have to dig it out. Heard the new single by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - on first hearing an absolute belter. SeanW @ on 11:45 10th-Jul-03 GMT #ad2-22447 I remember one Tom Baker Dr.Who episode (Genesis of the daleks?) where Davros told the Doctor 'don't touch that switch - its my life support systems' - i mean, talk about handing it to him on a silver plate! CMoS on 11:54 10th-Jul-03 GMT #1ed-22448 Check for new posts from 22360, i'll come up with a new strategy its a shame to miss MB's comments about his organ Pnarr ! wilke on 12:20 10th-Jul-03 GMT #69c-22449 uk gold on sunday shows doctor who from 7 am till 9 am unable to sleep last sunday morning [ feeling guilty about having a fight with maureen on sat night] sat for two hours of doctor who something to do with a light house how sad was that talk soon see ya wilke on 12:22 10th-Jul-03 GMT #69c-22450 ps tom baker trun on the derry xmas lights one year see you in the chat room tonight ok tssy Lee on 12:49 10th-Jul-03 GMT #64a-22452 Go back a while - I'm catching up. What do you say to God I think was someone's posting when meeting Feargal - 'Any chance of a chip?' was all I could come up with when standing on a cold Malvern's street when out of nowhere breezed Feargal chomping on a bag of chips. My hero walks past and I mutter 'Any chance of a chip' - useless! Got a chip though! Lee on 12:50 10th-Jul-03 GMT #64a-22453 I think I've missed something - what's all the Dalek talk? Lee on 12:55 10th-Jul-03 GMT #64a-22454 Aah - it's good to be back! Eleven were doing a UK tour I think. A poster appeared on our poly wall - 'Out of the Ashes of the Undertones come Eleven' (Just an aside but the first posters appearing about TPE said exactly the same). The gig was the same day. Very excited I rush off to get a ticket only to be told the gig was cancelled as Michael Bradley had broken his wrist in a motorbike crash or something. I quickly nick the hand written poster and still have it to this day. Next thing you know Eleven split up (Talking to JON many years later he said he thought this was because they weren't very good! - there's brotherly support for you). The breaking of the wrist never made the music press - I always wondered if they just made that up and had simply decided to call it a day on that day. Anyone know if there is any truth in this or not? Arthur on 12:58 10th-Jul-03 GMT #ec2-22455 Lee was that for a gig in Birmingham? I travelled down to it from Manchester. By the way, Mark the Cornish Undertone fan - please e-mail CMos about getting a password as your messages take a while to reach the site. Unfortunately we need this security as the site has been sabotaged on several occasions. Dave R on 13:29 10th-Jul-03 GMT #43d-22456 Eleven did a Peel session which was, erm... crap! I think a few people echoed that sentiment on here some time back... donald on 13:31 10th-Jul-03 GMT #237-22457 I am saddened but not altogether surprised that you lot are very knowledable on Dr Who. Come on Rick, I want to hear about when you met Morrissey. He would be a scarey man to approach, how did it go? Cliff on 14:09 10th-Jul-03 GMT #a6c-22458 Arthur, I think you have a good point about security on here. We're now 2 years down the line and the Undertones revival has gained a lot of momentum. Many of us tell other fans about the site at gigs, but I wonder how many give up coz their message dosent appear for a while and then it gets lost on previous pages.Maybe Anna has gone forever and we should do away with passwords etc? What d'ya think CMoS? Rick on 14:26 10th-Jul-03 GMT #2a9-22459 Wilke - that episode set in a lighthouse is called 'The Horror Of Fang Rock' and its great. Lee - CmOS is building a lifesize Dalek. Donald - I spent 4 hours with a friend of mine who had been corresponding with Morrissey in his London flat in September 1984. Pretentious and difficult are the words best used to describe Mozza but I think the worst thing was his slagging me off for liking Orange Juice and saying his book on James Dean wasn't very good. Later he ripped off our encounter to provide lyrics for the songs 'I Know It's Over' and 'Stretch Out & Wait'. Liam on 17:00 10th-Jul-03 GMT #344-22460 Dr Who! How very very sad. wilke on 17:02 10th-Jul-03 GMT #69c-22461 thanks rick would never have got to sleep tonight not knowing what it was called .any luck with the rudi cd by the way . talk soon see ya wilke on 17:05 10th-Jul-03 GMT #69c-22462 liam did you get my last e mail am i right or what. yes i like doctor who not because there was a girl in it who wore very little not sure who she was talk soon see ya Wayne on 19:01 10th-Jul-03 GMT #9a6-22463 Hi all- first time on. Probably saw some of you in Brighton but no idea who you were- I was in a Jimmy Jimmy T with 2 of my sons and a couple of their mates - what a night we had. Not sure if any of the links below have been featured on the site before http://www.bbc.co.uk/totp/artists/u/undertones/clips/my_perfect_cousin.shtml http://eil.com/shop/moreinfo.asp?catalogid=245160 http://eil.com/shop/moreinfo.asp?catalogid=222651 Wayne @ on 19:01 10th-Jul-03 GMT #9a6-22464 Posted a message a few minutes ago but have just noticed another message that mentions slow postings and getting a password but when I click on the @CMoS link I get 'mmiiiiii at whom.co.uk'- not sure if I am missing something and would be grateful if someone in the know could email to let me know where I am going wrong. Cheers Jon on 18:03 10th-Jul-03 GMT #7af-22465 I was at the last Lyceum gig and Selhurst Park. I left Selhurst soon after the Undertones finished and a long while before PG. I remember spending the night at Liverpool St station after missing the last train on the Lyceum night. A great concert though. Selhurst was just something I needed to be at - the end of an era. Good but not like classic undertones and of course a sad day. CMoS on 18:59 10th-Jul-03 GMT #1ed-22469 To get the email address repalce the ' to ' with '@' CMoS on 19:07 10th-Jul-03 GMT #1ed-22471 Okey doeky - new posts will appear immediately for a few hours without approval ! donald on 19:39 10th-Jul-03 GMT #237-22473 Seems like a good idea Cmos. Open it up so everyone can talk together. Seems a shame to appear to exclude people just because of the few ocasions Anna forgets her medication. Rick, sounds like quite a story. Corresponding with Morrissey, cool. Was your friend a 'buck toothed girl from Luxembourg'. Cactus on 20:09 10th-Jul-03 GMT #18b-22474 Having a password has never stopped me posting total crap; just got there quicker. Cactus on 20:12 10th-Jul-03 GMT #18b-22475 Someone I manage at my job has asked to be given a formal disaplinary hearing; have you ever heard such nonsense? Cactus on 20:15 10th-Jul-03 GMT #18b-22476 Loads of good Undertones stories here at the moment. Perhaps someone should get them all together in a book? SLF have a book about its songs coming out soon, written mostly by fans. I'm sure we could come up with something better about the Undertones. I bet that would guarantee at least 20 or so sales! Cactus on 20:17 10th-Jul-03 GMT #18b-22477 It's good that more people start post messages; the guilt of keeping the Undertones a secret overwelms(?) me sometimes..... Cactus on 20:21 10th-Jul-03 GMT #18b-22478 Standing by Feargal at the bar is really all I can remember of seeing Eleven; I don't even remember his white suit! Cactus on 20:25 10th-Jul-03 GMT #18b-22479 Lee: You did keep the chip and not actually eat it, didn't you? Cactus on 20:28 10th-Jul-03 GMT #18b-22481 Tom Baker narrates The Legend of Nemisis. This is available on on CD only from Alton Towers. Vinny on 20:31 10th-Jul-03 GMT #582-22483 Hi all, just back from so sunny Lanzarote. Jackie on 20:37 10th-Jul-03 GMT #bbb-22484 Yes Wayne the REM link was me! Roll on Sunday! Jackie on 20:51 10th-Jul-03 GMT #bbb-22487 Tom Baker has got the sexiest voice ever! Who said meeting your heroes is disappointing? They were right. They are always shorter/spottier/more boring etc etc than you think. And you can never think of things to say to them. I'm not talking about the fab 5 of course! Except the last bit. Cactus on 21:24 10th-Jul-03 GMT #18b-22488 Wayne: We're way ahead on that one. He insisted on taping the two hour meeting we had yesterday. What was REM's sound like? Saw Ash at the Academy a year or two back and it was deadful; just a muddy boom. Cactus on 21:25 10th-Jul-03 GMT [www.rathergood.com/vines/] #18b-22489 I don't normally post links but the kittens are so funny. Lindsay on 00:06 11th-Jul-03 GMT #166-22495 Sean, the chatroom is on the official site (.com), we talk there on Thursdays. wilke on 00:25 11th-Jul-03 GMT #69c-22496 just back from the chat room good nights crack see u all next week talk soon see ya Arthur on 00:27 11th-Jul-03 GMT #596-22497 Good idea to keep the site open CMos - just try it and see.
