Are you still adding pics of old gig tickets as I have 2 from 1979 (Cambridge and the Rainbow on my 21st b'day) and 1981 at UEA ?

Wayne @ on 07:09 11th-Jul-03 GMT #9a6-22480
I see there is a link to REM on this page- is there a connection with the Undertones? Saw em at Brixton Academy a couple of weeks ago on the Wednesday before they played Glastonbury- great band, great expectations, £37 tickets, brilliant venue, great performance- but not a touch on Brighton.

Wayne @ on 07:09 11th-Jul-03 GMT #9a6-22482
Thinks he/she is setting you up for a constructive dismissal compensation claim Cactus.

Wayne on 07:09 11th-Jul-03 GMT #9a6-22485
Oh yeah- I recall you mentioning it on the 'other side' a few weeks ago (aka Cantona). Had tickets for Move but sold em on Ebay in an effort to fund purchases of tickets to various concerts kids want to go to- I am told Rancid in September is our next event(but I am toying with going to the Shefflins gig without them)

Wayne @ on 07:09 11th-Jul-03 GMT #9a6-22486
REM were excellent and Micky Stipes was in very good humour- reckoned he couldn't say 'Go on' convincingly the way Brits can. If you ever have chance to go to the Brixton Academy go- its an old theatre, seats removed, sloping floor and wide but not deep so you get a great close up view wherever you are

Wayne @ on 07:09 11th-Jul-03 GMT #9a6-22490
Sound was fine other than a few feedback problems- but to be expected as only second concert in 4 years (apparently) first was the night before. Saw Papa Roach previously and sound was excellent and Avril Lavigne a couple of months ago (indifferent band = average sound)

Wayne @ on 07:09 11th-Jul-03 GMT #9a6-22491
We went to see Red Hot Chili Peppers at the London Arena earlier in the year. I am not a fan of mega stadium venues(in fact prior to that the biggest venue I'd gone to was the Undertones at the Rainbow in 1979 when they played at my 21st- so to speak) but the Chili's sound quality was unbelievable.

michael bradley on 07:10 11th-Jul-03 GMT #254-22492
Sorry - my last message didn;t seem to be posted. Anyway , reading the comments about Eleven, the band Dee and I formed after the undertones prompts me to say, once and for all.....Sorry - Eleven was an absolutely shite band. Sorry, sorry and sorry again. There. I feel a whole lot better

sean dentith @ on 07:10 11th-Jul-03 GMT #9eb-22493

jackie's head teacher on 07:10 11th-Jul-03 GMT #32a-22494
sorry to disappoint you Jackie but I have arranged some extra curricular activity at school for you during the summer holidays. I expect the school to be spotless on my return after the 6 weeks hols. The mop and bucket are inside the staff room. Bonne vacance

Adrian @ on 10:00 11th-Jul-03 GMT #7b4-22502
Wayne,no point mentioning REM I was at the same show at Brixton.I mentioned it on here but not one response,I don't they have too many fans in these parts.Your right Brixton is a great venue, but I think The Forum and The Shepherds Bush Empire just edge it,much better sound.

CMoS on 10:02 11th-Jul-03 GMT #1ed-22503
Great REM aritcle in the tabloids today that 25% of Glastonbury got lucky during the weekend. Most durign the REM set, hardly any durign the RadioHead set, mind you that last album's melts viagra tables at 50 paces

Lee on 12:38 11th-Jul-03 GMT #64a-22504
Arthur - yes it was - B'ham poly. Do you know what happened that day?

Lee on 12:43 11th-Jul-03 GMT #64a-22505
Cactus - the chip was gone in seconds - I was starving!

Rick on 14:08 11th-Jul-03 GMT #2a9-22508
REM's crimes against humanity - Shiny Happy People - enough said.

Arthur on 14:23 11th-Jul-03 GMT #78f-22509
I like Shiney, Happy People - its a top tune.

Rick on 14:31 11th-Jul-03 GMT #2a9-22510
Also 'Orange Crush' and 'Stand' - terrible.

Rick on 14:36 11th-Jul-03 GMT #2a9-22511
Loved Denis Leary's (US comedian) rant against REM where he decides to hold up and kill a coach load of REM fans and lines them up against the wall saying 'OK lets have the Shiny people on this side and the Happy people on the other.'

George on 17:00 11th-Jul-03 GMT #100-22575
My knowledge of Dumas has improved considerably in the last couple of minutes. Who's off to Bray then for the weekend. Weather looks excellent.

Lindsay on 17:46 11th-Jul-03 GMT #1d6-22576
CMoS, in all this time has this completely insane person been sending messages and you've had to delete them? Have we just not known about it?? Surely you must have some idea who it is by now. It's one very sad individual that's for sure. Sadly looks like we need a registration system that get's him/her barred for good or the Dalek might be the only option.

AlexD on 18:06 11th-Jul-03 GMT #476-22577
Who's the bedwetter? Anyway here's the problem new car, six cd player, what albums would you choose?

Cactus on 20:22 11th-Jul-03 GMT #18b-22579
I'm with George. I'm certainly learnt a lot in the last few minutes. No mention of his place in the Klingon Empire though..

Cactus on 20:22 11th-Jul-03 GMT #18b-22580
Oh that's Duras.

Cactus on 20:27 11th-Jul-03 GMT #18b-22581
CMoS is a bit like AOL. Protecting those who sign up from the real horrors of the Internet. Marshall and FF, the equivalent of a pop up ad.

Cactus on 20:30 11th-Jul-03 GMT #18b-22582
I must have funny ears. The sound in the Brixton Academy and the Shephard's Bush Empire are the worst I've ever heard! REM aren't bad; some really good singles. It's good to see what is basically just a simple pop band do so well too.

Cactus on 20:32 11th-Jul-03 GMT #18b-22583
Lee: You ate Feargal's chip?! Bet you wish you'd kept it now?

Cactus on 20:55 11th-Jul-03 GMT #18b-22584
Alex: Assuming you can't just pick six by the Undertones?

Cactus on 21:12 11th-Jul-03 GMT #18b-22585
I can't belive you ate Feargal's chip.

Cliff on 21:26 11th-Jul-03 GMT #a8a-22587
Oh well, that went well!! Bring back the passwords CMoS.

Cliff on 21:30 11th-Jul-03 GMT #a8a-22588
6 not including Undertones? Ramones,Motels,T.Rex,Beatles,Buddy Holly,Madonna.

Cactus on 21:46 11th-Jul-03 GMT #18b-22592
Wayne: Got an e-mail today explaining how he was not going to reply to any e-mails he gets sent by anyone, as I've asked to see any replies he writes before he sends them and he has refused. As you can imagine, this makes it hard for him to do much!

Cactus on 21:50 11th-Jul-03 GMT #18b-22593
Wedding Present, Gymslips, Nerf Herder, Ramones, Blyth Power, Monochrome Set. Actually it's almost impossible. There are some not very good bands that managed one stunning album in an otherwise average output. A bit like trying to pick your Top Twenty all time songs. Changes everyday.

wilke on 22:38 11th-Jul-03 GMT #69c-22595
alexs here goes tones first album the cure best of the dark side of the 80``s pistols clash slf[not]moondogs new cd what do you think best of the skids as back up ps who let the dickhead in talk soon see ya

AlexD on 01:39 12th-Jul-03 GMT #96e-22597
Some good sounds being offered, I don't mean to be a cunt but there are about 6 million REM sites, if you want some feedback then try one of them! Ok Cactus one 'Tones album (no compilations),Which one?? Clifford was that Crossroads Motel? Nice one Wayne.Keep one in the chamber. Are you from Glasgow/Derry:)? Outstanding shout by Cornwall for Slade, that's a major contender. First one in the player is 'Hypnotised'. So that is my 'Tones ration used up. Five to go. You decide(in a big brother voice).Clash are a deffo, but what album?

AlexD on 01:47 12th-Jul-03 GMT #96e-22598
Madonna? Put the bottle of Pimm's back Clifford!!

AlexD on 02:06 12th-Jul-03 GMT #96e-22599
Nice options wilke, I'd love to hear that album 'Who let the Dickhead In' is it a double album with 'Our Lips are Sealed'?

AlexD on 02:34 12th-Jul-03 GMT #96e-22600
Pet Sounds, Peppers, Dark Side, Reo Speedwagon live at Leigh-on-Sea, classic albums, but what should I have blasting in my Citroen 2CV?
