Just realized how similar the opening lines of 'Bittersweet' sound to 'True love ways'.

AlexD on 10:49 16th-Aug-03 GMT #938-23440
I think the beginning of Julie Ocean is very similar to Ace of Spades by Motorhead. What do you think Donald?

wilke on 11:31 16th-Aug-03 GMT #be0-23441
well time to own up i have a copy of ace of spades. and motorhead and girlschool please dont touch 10 inch verison well now thats out in the open i feel ok talk soon see ya

Cactus on 12:40 16th-Aug-03 GMT #544-23442
Modettes verion of Paint it Black definitely better than the Stones one. If Ace of Spades and Please Don't Touch are embarassing to admit to owning, (I've got them as well so I'm out in the open about it now too) I'd best keep quiet about some of the stuff I've got. Katharina had bass lessons from the bass player in Girlschool. I'm seeing Rancid in London too. Have we decided what to do if any of the music press gives Get What You Need anything less that the review it deserves? Amazon has the DVD listed now for £16.99. More stuff...

Heavy metal is like punk without the finesse. (just make a load of din, doesn't matter if it's not in tune cos no-one will notice, the audience are probably all deaf by now anyway). SLF playing The Leadmill, Sheffield in Sept. Mmmm...

julius on 14:17 16th-Aug-03 GMT #7d0-23444
well, I have the Motorhead Live LP and the ace of spades single too, havent played them for years but they are in my collection and must admit to playing them a lot, confession time

Like most types of music there good and bad in Metal. Although I was firmly in the 'punk' camp a lot of friends like metal and I still enjoy some of it now - probably more than I did then and usually when a few shandies too many. AC DC and Motorhead being top but there was some real bad stuff like 'Saxon' and all the poodle rockers. Poodle rock seems set for a revival with 'The Darkness' getting great reviews and a sell out tour. 'Queens of the Stone Age' have a perfect blend of metal and punks riffs with a poppyfeel as well, and they rock.

Lindsay on 18:01 16th-Aug-03 GMT #1b7-23446
Proves my point nicely. Metal - either enough to turn you to drink or you have to be drunk to enjoy it!

Lindsay on 18:09 16th-Aug-03 GMT #1b7-23447
I'm very proud not to have any Metal (heavy or otherwise) in my collection. Only ugly women like Metal (ever noticed that?) so of course it's no surprise that I don't like it!! Oh dear, I can hear the Hells Angels coming down my road as I speak. Tssy (if they don't get me first!).

wilke on 18:36 16th-Aug-03 GMT #be0-23448
well think i better tell you lot i have some quo stuff as well but never ever ever play them now got them in the dark days before punk tssy .

Hopefully the attached link gives info on the adverts that feature Undertones songs.

Catus- if you are going to Rancid gig on the Friday we will have to try and hook up (I'll be accompanied by a possee of spotty yoofs). I'll confess to once going to a Tears for Fears concert. Saw SLF in Norwich earlier this year-'enthuisiastic performance' I think the journos would describe it as, especially from 'Mullet' Foxton.

wilke on 23:23 16th-Aug-03 GMT #be0-23452
