Morecambe 2004 - 3 Days of Mod and Powerpop featuring Moondogs, Secret Affair, Purple Hearts, Squire, Teenbeats, Long Tall Shorty, Killermeters, FastCars, Little Roosters and many many more. Check out our website for more details Rick on 08:56 3rd-Sep-03 GMT #2a9-23728 Can I ask a silly question and ask why any of us are buying the new compilation album when we all must have all the tracks either on albums, 'Cherry O'Bowlies, 'All Wrapped Up', 'A's and B's', and the singles CD box set. Surely its not just for the Teenage Kicks video and the trailer for the DVD ? Great to see the trailer for the compilation on TV and see it get high in the album charts though. Hopefully a few new converts will be made just in time for the tour and new album. Dave R on 08:57 3rd-Sep-03 GMT #43d-23729 The new 'Best Of' is in my local Tesco for £9.87! Is this the cheapest yet?! Does anyone else think the cover is terrible - what's it got to do with the band?! The Ruts on TOTP2 last night - excellent. Derek on 09:06 3rd-Sep-03 GMT #a73-23730 Cd is great. Forgotten how much I liked When Saturday Comes. When I first had the LP'S I was in a bedsit with an ancient music centre (and a needle which was probably as old as the ark). So it was a surprise (to me) to hear the quality of some of music on the songs, particularly that song. It may be that I just didn't listen properly to the cd's when I got them first or it could be that I now have a good quality cd player. Either way, it's nice to 'rediscover' a good song. Only critisism's are the brashness between some of the tracks and it's not long enough. Really looking forward to gigs now. wilke on 09:42 3rd-Sep-03 GMT #be0-23731 hi just about to head to spain for maureens 40TH SO SEE YOU ALL NEXT WEEK ps the dvd is great bye Rick on 09:46 3rd-Sep-03 GMT #2a9-23732 Looks like the Moondogs are booked to play a Mod/Powerpop week-end around the bank holiday in late May 2004 in Morecambe. Other bands playing include Secret Affair, Purple Hearts and Squire. I lived in digs in Morecambe during my time at Uni and it was awful. Also got beaten up by a gang of mods on the seafront there. Haven't been back since 1984 so I'm not sure about this one. AlexD on 09:59 3rd-Sep-03 GMT #e16-23733 Remember the postcard Wilke and tell Mo not to come back with a stupid looking stuffed donkey :) Cliff on 10:46 3rd-Sep-03 GMT #6a9-23734 Well I tend to agree with you Rick, I had absolutely no intention of buying another 'best of' CD.However, yesterday, armed with £100 for our wholesale Coffee House shopping, I passed Virgin.I went in to see if they had the CD, held it and read it for a couple of minutes and then found myself almost in a trance standing in the Q with it.Next thing I know its in a bag and I'm walking down the road opening it like a kid with a bag of sweets... Cliff on 10:52 3rd-Sep-03 GMT #6a9-23735 ...so when I got home Doina saw it(damn)and said 'new CD?' 'yes' 'who is it?' (shit, hoping she wouldn't pursue it)'its the Undertones' 'oh,is it all those new songs?' (shit, now I'm in trouble)'yes, its the new one'(a sort of lie, but not a lie). The problem I have now is when 'Get what you need' comes in the post and she opens it...any ideas anybody? (good ones needed please). Vinny on 11:00 3rd-Sep-03 GMT #c24-23736 Cliff, try: 'That (name of internet company) they sent the wrong thing AND they don't do refunds!' Rick on 11:11 3rd-Sep-03 GMT #2a9-23737 Cliff you must have been H.Y.P - hypnotised. Arthur on 12:35 3rd-Sep-03 GMT #af4-23738 I was the same about the new compilation but if Tesco's get it in (its no 41 in their chart) I might buy it. Although there has been loads of previous compilations this new one should attract a whole load of younger fans. It's getting to the stage that the band will have sold more albums since 1983 than they did when they were going first time around. I love the cover, by the way, its just so happy and joyous like you're getting out of school for the summer holidays - the same feeling as a great Undertones gig. George on 13:55 3rd-Sep-03 GMT #100-23739 Reason to buy it - cos it's there. Like buying the reissued first LP just because they added TK and GOY. Plus this one does have the trailer for Vinny's film (or atleast the limited edition does). How many limited's are being issued? Still waiting for my CD to arrive. At this rate I will be the last person to receive it. Might have to go and buy one from the shops as well to help boost chart sales. Niteblind on 15:27 3rd-Sep-03 GMT [www.niteblind.com] #c4a-23740 I´m gonna buy it coz I lost my copies back in the wild days. And I forgot the first line of the second verse of 'Jimmy Jimmy' which I want to play with my new band project HULA PUNK Slaunte Wayne on 18:35 3rd-Sep-03 GMT [www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp] #09a-23741 Was looking on US sites for 'Best Of' to order for cousin and came across cover of 'Get What You Need'. http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=6303009&cart=156204635&style=music Jackie on 18:42 3rd-Sep-03 GMT #055-23742 Round here George we call Netto 'The Jarrow Harrods' Never been in it in my life. Much less Aldi. I'm a classy bird dont you know (but I do hear that Netto have 24 cans of Carling on for £8.99 at the moment so I might have to swallow my pride- and some lager!) Wayne on 21:05 3rd-Sep-03 GMT #09a-23743 Bit like France is known as Threshers- the place you go for cheap beer and fags. julius on 21:14 3rd-Sep-03 GMT #646-23744 thanks for all your cards for my 4oth, all appreciated, will react soon but had too much to drink on my birthday party so was down for 2 days, well last guests left at 5 am and our site was very well represented by stote007 who came up with a grreat undertones mousemat, presenting the new singer... AlexD on 21:53 3rd-Sep-03 GMT [www.laden.co.uk/product.asp] #ed7-23745 Clifford explain yourself. AlexD on 22:35 3rd-Sep-03 GMT #ed7-23746 Heard the Jeevas version of YGMN on Teachers tonight, it's pretty good I think. Cactus on 22:51 3rd-Sep-03 GMT #f44-23747 Cliff: Just put 1p on the price of everything (a kind of Undertones surcharge) until you've recovered the price of the CD. Any decent customer will understand. Anyone that doesn't, well do you really want that sort of clientele? Cactus on 22:54 3rd-Sep-03 GMT #f44-23748 That's a nice cover for the new album; another retro look. I never thought the band would look so good in skirts! Cactus on 22:57 3rd-Sep-03 GMT #f44-23749 Can't believe that teenage kicks t-shirt is so expensive! £25! You can get a proper Teenage Kicks t-shirt and the new CD for the same kind of price.
