Can I ask a silly question and ask why any of us are buying the new compilation album when we all must have all the tracks either on albums, 'Cherry O'Bowlies, 'All Wrapped Up', 'A's and B's', and the singles CD box set. Surely its not just for the Teenage Kicks video and the trailer for the DVD ? Great to see the trailer for the compilation on TV and see it get high in the album charts though. Hopefully a few new converts will be made just in time for the tour and new album.

The new 'Best Of' is in my local Tesco for £9.87! Is this the cheapest yet?! Does anyone else think the cover is terrible - what's it got to do with the band?! The Ruts on TOTP2 last night - excellent.

Cd is great. Forgotten how much I liked When Saturday Comes. When I first had the LP'S I was in a bedsit with an ancient music centre (and a needle which was probably as old as the ark). So it was a surprise (to me) to hear the quality of some of music on the songs, particularly that song. It may be that I just didn't listen properly to the cd's when I got them first or it could be that I now have a good quality cd player. Either way, it's nice to 'rediscover' a good song. Only critisism's are the brashness between some of the tracks and it's not long enough. Really looking forward to gigs now.

Looks like the Moondogs are booked to play a Mod/Powerpop week-end around the bank holiday in late May 2004 in Morecambe. Other bands playing include Secret Affair, Purple Hearts and Squire. I lived in digs in Morecambe during my time at Uni and it was awful. Also got beaten up by a gang of mods on the seafront there. Haven't been back since 1984 so I'm not sure about this one.

Well I tend to agree with you Rick, I had absolutely no intention of buying another 'best of' CD.However, yesterday, armed with £100 for our wholesale Coffee House shopping, I passed Virgin.I went in to see if they had the CD, held it and read it for a couple of minutes and then found myself almost in a trance standing in the Q with it.Next thing I know its in a bag and I'm walking down the road opening it like a kid with a bag of sweets...

...so when I got home Doina saw it(damn)and said 'new CD?' 'yes' 'who is it?' (shit, hoping she wouldn't pursue it)'its the Undertones' 'oh,is it all those new songs?' (shit, now I'm in trouble)'yes, its the new one'(a sort of lie, but not a lie).The problem I have now is when 'Get what you need' comes in the post and she opens it...any ideas anybody? (good ones needed please).

I was the same about the new compilation but if Tesco's get it in (its no 41 in their chart) I might buy it. Although there has been loads of previous compilations this new one should attract a whole load of younger fans. It's getting to the stage that the band will have sold more albums since 1983 than they did when they were going first time around. I love the cover, by the way, its just so happy and joyous like you're getting out of school for the summer holidays - the same feeling as a great Undertones gig.

Reason to buy it - cos it's there. Like buying the reissued first LP just because they added TK and GOY. Plus this one does have the trailer for Vinny's film (or atleast the limited edition does). How many limited's are being issued? Still waiting for my CD to arrive. At this rate I will be the last person to receive it. Might have to go and buy one from the shops as well to help boost chart sales.

Cliff: Just put 1p on the price of everything (a kind of Undertones surcharge) until you've recovered the price of the CD. Any decent customer will understand. Anyone that doesn't, well do you really want that sort of clientele?
