its a good point you make, and proven by the fact you recently said I wanted you to be my friend ;-)

Lindsay on 11:16 13th-Sep-03 GMT #bf6-23933
I can honestly say I am totally indifferent JC's expiry (probably cos he was 'a man's man'). And the world looks exactly the same to me today as it did yesterday!

Lindsay on 11:17 13th-Sep-03 GMT #bf6-23934
read 'indifferent to'

Liam and Damian will be sad. And my punk friend Hen who got me into the Undertones in the first place. Her Dad worshipped him (always on the record player when I went round). I've not heard it on the news yet. Perhaps the Undertones can do a cover at one of the gigs as a tribute.

Cliff on 14:19 13th-Sep-03 GMT #6a9-23936
Are the Undertones expected to do a cover every time somebody famous in the music industry dies? Lets hope the Undertones just stick to their own brilliant stuff.Fair enough if you're indifferent Lindsay, but JC was a bit special and I can't stand C&W.

Jackie on 18:13 13th-Sep-03 GMT #74f-23937
Sorry Cliff it was only a suggestion. Anyways I would think it was a new song as I dont know any JC!

I remember watching my mother and father listening to the live at San Quentin album just after they got it. Even at 8 years old, you sorta knew Cash was hip and special and in a reflected glory kinda way so were my parents. His personna was that of a man who always sided with the underdog and always questioned authority. My parents identified with that and it provides a tangible memory and insight into their charecters. As they've both passed on, it helps me see them as real people again and not a composite of nostalgic memories so thanks Johnny. other than nostalgic

its a very similar story to mine arthur.my dad played jc all the time in the 60's, along with buddy holly.he also played lots of 'teddy boy' rocker stuff that i didnt like, but bh and jc both made great tunes that always stayed with me.until glamrock came along when i was 10/11 it was their music i listened to more than any.sorry there are no capital letters in this message but i have oliver in my left hand and we're listening to the undertones compilation together, hopefully it'll stick with him.

Derry City Fans - in 1953 my father Tony McGartland signed to Derry City FC for a fee of £1 from Omagh club St. Josephs at the age of 19 years old. He was signed by Omagh scout Walter McGaughey. He didn`t play many games as he soon got tired of all the travelling especially to the away games. I would be most grateful if anyone on the board who has access to Derry City memorabilia could check it out to see if ANY photos exist of the line-up that includes him - please! Please mail me.

Sorry, I should add to the last posting...... my father was a goalkeeper!

One of the first things Martha Rose did was turn off the Undertones and play Kylie's 'Can't Get You Otta My Head'! Even though she was only one, I found it hard to forgive but the counselling helped.

Ernie, I have just posted a message on the Derry City site, you are defintely gonna get feedback from that. See the site and click on Forum.

Your such a sweetie Clifford :) Arthur are you coming out to play on the 10th October. Gweedore Bar for some fine wines and cigars? Wilke's lapdance is optional. See your book getting a bit of stick here Ernie.

Ernie on 22:49 13th-Sep-03 GMT #629-23945
Vinny, thanks for your efforts. AlexD - I`ve read all the versions, before and after my book. When you get a nice cheque like I did for the book, criticism means nothing.

AlexD on 22:54 13th-Sep-03 GMT #fd6-23946
Good for you, I only pointed it out in case you hadn't seen it.
