Apologies if you already know this, but I drove over to The Casbah yesterday and discovered that although the total capacity of the venue is 700 that of the basement in which the bands play is only 250 and tickets are, to quote Mark, the Promotions Manager ‘flying out’. He is expecting a sell-out, in which case those without tickets will only be allowed into the bar area but not into the basement for the gig. Tickets can be bought by post. Send a cheque for £10.00 + SAE, or £10.75 to cover P&P, and made payable to The Wapentake Company Limited, to The Casbah, 1 Wellington Street, Sheffield S1 4HF. I don’t suppose it would hurt to put it F.A.O. Mark, Promotions Manager, either. It is of course Mark’s job to boost ticket sales but he seemed genuine and I don’t think I was influenced by his giving me a gig poster, so I’ll leave it with you - hope this helps.
