According to Google language translation it says:- ''and well precisely, 20 years after ' The Sin Of Pride ', this new album of is the ' Tones really that which one needs? I do not know finally... The 45 ' Thrill Me' had me agreeably surprised, splendid face A! But this evening, after having listened to several times the new pieces, I must acknowledge it, I am disappointed a little! But good... Undertones were always better on scene than ' on disc ', I thus the concert of Brighton waits to make me a final idea on the come back of Tones...''

anyone of you remember Josef K? Yesterday found&bought a Lp from this legendary scottish band it is a LP with their singles and peel sessions, back in 1980 I could never find a record by them, the music is good, sounds a bit like orange juice (or the other way round? as Josef K was there before?) Also bought a LP by the All Girl Summer Fun band, american band, side project of thermals bassist. It is a great LP which is just out, reminds me of the Shop Assistants another great scottish band.

just a thought, only one week to go before the new undertones is out, grreat, really lookin forward to. Who would have thought that 2 years ago when we started writing here that we would get to listen to a new LP, anyone knows the trackorder already?

I think Josef K and Orange Juice both started on Postcard at the same time didn't they? Early Orange Juice was superb and I've stayed an Edwyn fan since those days. His first solo album after quite a few years away is one of my all time favourites.

Paul ? from Josef K was nice! I had a mini crush on him at the time along with Edwyn Collins and Roddy Frame. Come to think of it, Scotland had a monopoly on bands that made good music and had band members with lovely guitars and haircuts!!!!

Paul Haig. Just remembered.

The mention of the Shop Assistants has made me force myself from my sick bed. I've had flu all week; I've never taken a day off work ever for a cold before, but this week I've been ill. However, my pathetic and transparent attempt to gain some sympathy comes about as the review of the Shop Assistants' single Safety Net from Sounds says, 'Fluff on the needle fun with the kind of delirious, mindless melee going on that made The Undertones' early junk such essential froth.'

Cactus on 00:03 28th-Sep-03 GMT #d85-24186
And the review from Sounds for the Shop Assistants' I Don't Wanna Be Friends With You (Single of the Week) say, '...kicks off with a strange switched-on sound borrowed from the Undertones,...'

Cactus on 00:05 28th-Sep-03 GMT #d85-24187
Let's us not forget the review from Sounds of Resistance 77's Thoroughbred Men which says of the track Going Home, '...with its Undertones style attraction...'. Certainly the best track on the album.

Cactus on 00:06 28th-Sep-03 GMT #d85-24188
Can't think of any more just now. Anyone else got any to add? Back to my sick bed I guess for me..
