Joe Elliot from Def Leppard, Sheffield connection. Never heard it so dunno if it's the Maestro's version.

Hi everyone!!!!!!!! As you may guessed this is not Henry, its his BETTER half, Temi. Just a quick hello to everyone, it was lovley to see some of you again and meet new people (in Henry's world). Did you all read the article in the Evening Standard? Ya'll have a good evening.

Wayne, no but my dad used to have a proper gramophone. It was like a wooden coffin on legs in the sitting room. I wasnt allowed to play any of my stuff on it 'because it damaged the needle' according to my dad. So I had a red dansette type mono record player, (which I got the Xmas I was 7!) instead which actually had quite a decent sound. The turntable must have spun at 34 1/3 RPM because now I always feel that CDs of the Undertones sound slightly too slow. When I was 18 I eagerly awaited a 'posh' new stereo. Not to be- it was another red plastic one with separate tiny tinny speakers:-(( I had to wait til I was 21 before I got a 'proper' Sony one. It was still bottom of the range, but it lasted me til a few years ago. Now I cant play any LPs at all! Can you lot all remember your first record players then?

P.S. Schools OUT!!!! And so am I -lager and curry here I come!

My Granda gave me his old stereo, vinyl was fine. But it's quite hard to find decent stuff on 8 track cassette. The only cassette I had was Band on the Run, which is still lodged deep in my subconscious.

actually alex it IS a school night!!! But luckily no kids tomorrow, just a training day that starts at 8.30am where we all have to be dead serious and pretend we all LOVE teaching and are interested in listening to people teaching their grannies how to suck eggs. While still pi**ed.

Jackie you had your own stereo! We used to dreeeeaammm of having a phonograph. There were 10 of us living int’ shoebox int’ middle of road…... I was trying to explain to the kids how some 45’s didn’t used to have the middles in them and you had to use an adaptor to play them but couldn’t remember why this was - was it do with jukeboxes?

So what is it, tomorrow. Chalk throwing practice, eye rolling in an upward fashion, swearing inaudibly, or maybe a 'workshop' in covering up the smell of alcohol? I loved school, my only regret is that only one of my teachers ended up sectioned. If only the let me stay, I could have taken at least another couple. It's not a job I'd fancy, but some of my teachers should not have been in the same postcode as a school.

First record player I bought myself was a Panasonic SG165 with linear tracking. I think it is still at my mam's house but the record player doesn't work. I can't remember if it had two tape decks (to copy tapes for personal use only!) I've had my current record/CD player about 13 years. I can remember filling in all the finance forms before having the courage to ask if there was a discount for cash. When he asked me what discount I expected I was taken aback and only said 10%, which I duly received. Still cost £477. I did get three free Technics 'classical' music CDs as well.

Noticed a few sorry postings from Cliff and Lee about the extremely poor Baggies result against the mighty Wimbledon. Can't really large it though, as since they moved to Milton Keynes I now no longer give a toss about them. I can however take pride in the peoples team...AFC Wimbledon played 11 won 11, Goal difference + 38.

According to my nerdy stalker wallchart,(can't wait for the tattoo). There appears to be another couple of gigs in Engerland. I can only assume the tour manager owes someone big style in Scotland. It's not even funny anymore, they would storm Glasgow and Edinburgh, and the band members I spoke to said they would love it! Tell the fud to sort out some gigs. He's not doing his job properly, there is a large following in Scotland that would love to see the band. I have to travel miles to see the feckers. All I get is backstage passes with the strippers, the kinky sex parties and the midgets with the trays of marching gear on their heads, It's not good enough. I would like the 'tour' manager to post a message and tell me/us (no I'm not schizophrenic I'm hoping the Donalds agree with me)are there are any plans to play Scotland. If not why not? Yes I did call you a fud.

You seen this Vin. I like the review, 'John and Damian O'Neill (aka 'The O'Neill Brothers')' Sounds like the Krays. Can't be Reggie visited Glasgow regularly :)
