CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHERE I CAN BUY A WEEGIE BOARD??? Padraig on 10:55 23rd-Dec-03 GMT #760-25604 Hi guys can anyone out there help? Big Tones and SLF fan. One question did these two great bands ever gig together? Adrian on 10:55 23rd-Dec-03 GMT #14a-25609 Yes, the gig at The Garage was superb. Not hot like it was last time. It was nice of the band to come out and chat afterwards ... much appreciated. Happy christmas everybody! Padraig on 10:55 23rd-Dec-03 GMT #760-25618 Oh I get it! This is one of those closed shop forums where any newbie gets totally blanked instead of welcomed even when he asks the same question twice over. No problem. Enjoy your personal forum and clique. Outta here. casbahmark @ on 10:55 23rd-Dec-03 GMT #e50-25619 george... read it wrong... the undertones onstage @ 9.30....'til they wanna go off !! mark ... **thrilled** Alyosha @ on 10:56 23rd-Dec-03 GMT [www.bluehotel.co.uk] #8a8-25625 >>Is is true that Lene Lovich has done some backing vocals on the track 'Girls Talk'? yes that's true, but it's on the track 'The Girls Don't Like It', she's one of the 2 girls talking at the beginning of song, saying 'yeh, I don't go for him, do you?' (I'm one of the biggest Lene fans in the world, went to New York recenty only to see her show, here's link to her fansite 'Blue Hotel', run by Chris Good) Martin @ on 10:56 23rd-Dec-03 GMT #0e3-25636 Really looking forward to the Dutch dates!! The venues are pretty small but will make the gigs even more fun I'm sure. The Ekko in Utrecht is no more than 200 capacity I guess, Leiden and Msterdam must be around 450/500. There's not much on the venue's websites yet but here are the urls for future reference - www.ekko.nl, www.melkweg.nl and www.lvc.nl - all very logical (that's the Dutch for you!) Cheers Martin casbahmark @ on 10:56 23rd-Dec-03 GMT #611-25653 THE f***in' BEST....... don't need words to describe Saturday night. The Band, the songs, the crowd, the atmosphere... you lot who came. We'll see you all back in 2004, i'm gonna spoil yer twice again !!!! Love & Peace.... mark xxxx Lisa L on 10:56 23rd-Dec-03 GMT #ce8-25654 Just wanted to say a big thanks to those I saw at the gig on Saturday night in Sheffield - particularly, Lindsay, Jackie, Wayne and George. Big thanks to Lindsay and Jackie as I had a really nice day out with them; though I think Lindsay and I need more practice at shopping to keep up with Jackie. Re the sound at Sheffield, the reason they stopped playing at one point was because Damian seemed to keep having problems with his guitar throughout the set. Message for Donald, Rick forgot to mention that the last Doors song played was Soul Kitchen. They played it to a half full arena for a section of the crowd that refused to leave. Rick missed it unfortunately. So what's the latest on Tones in Italy and who's going? JoP on 12:59 23rd-Dec-03 GMT #1d4-25663 Venice for £19 from Leeds-Bradford with Jet2. Got to be a catch..... WILKE on 14:19 23rd-Dec-03 GMT #69c-25664 tickets got for the derry gig today really looking forward to it but no dancing both knes are f*() right now talk soon see ya Cliff on 17:45 23rd-Dec-03 GMT #6a9-25665 Hope you do Mark, try to coincide it with albion playing in Yorkshire if poss ;-).Wilke, can't you sit on somebodys shoulders? donald on 17:50 23rd-Dec-03 GMT #ac3-25666 Thanks for the Doors update Lisa. I know Mars Bars is a popular song that always goes down well live but for me I wouldnt be upset if it was left off the setlist.George congratulations on your race, you deserve a medal for running in the cold winter never mind a packet of Wine Gums - which U/tones T shirt did U wear? Cliff on 17:52 23rd-Dec-03 GMT #6a9-25667 It says everything about the charts today that a copy(oops, cover version)is the Christmas No 1.I'd like to know the stats on how many no.1's this year have been copies(darnit, I mean covers)and what the most ammount of copies(there I go again, COVERS!)in the top 30 at one time is. JoP on 19:43 23rd-Dec-03 GMT #2b3-25669 There IS a catch. They don't fly in March. Jackie on 19:55 23rd-Dec-03 GMT #b05-25670 So how come the original lobster t shirts had all sold out at London? Surely some should have been kept back for sale at Sheff. It would have resulted in a proper bun fight. But with my shopping expertise I could have got one. Instead had to settle for a See No More tour badge. JoP on 20:10 23rd-Dec-03 GMT #2b3-25671 I got a See No More badge and lost it in the kebab shop on the corner... stote007 on 21:25 23rd-Dec-03 GMT #915-25672 Same here, Jo. Basiqair from Rotterdam to Rome & Venice - starts on 29 March. Virgin Express from Brussels starts at € 170 return. You'll have to make do with five nights in Holland. Flights to Amsterdam from all over for almost nothing! George on 21:26 23rd-Dec-03 GMT #7df-25673 Barry did have original lobster t-shirts with him at Sheffield Jackie. He just didn't put them up for sale. A large t-shirt from 1980 is equivalent to very small these days. The t-shirts would barely fit on barbie now. julius on 21:43 23rd-Dec-03 GMT #6be-25674 A collegue of me went to inform in Hengelo and the gig there wont take place in the pub itself but in a converted hall next to/belonging to the pub. It is a hall which was used for wedding parties etc and will hold about 300-400 Lindsay on 22:25 23rd-Dec-03 GMT #4ee-25676 I thought I was a good driver til I went to Sheffield. Before we started, Lisa said the city was okay now as the council had installed a new system whereby a series of coloured symbols guide you effortlessly to your destination. Simple eh? Except the practice was completely contrary to the theory. Lindsay on 22:27 23rd-Dec-03 GMT #4ee-25677 For a start it was dark and raining bucketfuls. The red triangles (for City Hall) seem to breed on rabbit-scale and then completely had us fooled when the triangle went one way and the sign for City Hall went the other. So having driven along in a bus lane, skipping a red light, being faced with on-coming traffic cos I thought it was a one-way, as well as us all having a fit of the giggles after passing the station for the third time meaning I couldn’t see where I was going anyway for tears, I’d hasten to disagree with the Traffic Planning Dept of Sheffield City Council that their system is a monumental success. I likened it to Playschool – whichever symbol you chose always ended you up in the same place. I swear I was seeing red triangles in my sleep I was so traumatised. Lindsay on 22:30 23rd-Dec-03 GMT #4ee-25678 Deciding to ignore all symbols, we finally navigated our own way to the Casbah only to find all the car parks were full, so it was round and round in circles in the pouring rain again – great fun eh Kev?! At last we got to the venue and it was time for some fun. Jimmy Jimmy kicked off and the mosh went mad. It’s as mad in the Casbah as it is in the Nerve Centre and got covered in beer before deciding the sound was too loud and I’d join Lisa at the side where the sound was clearer and I could actually see the band. Lindsay on 22:34 23rd-Dec-03 GMT #4ee-25679 Can honestly say this time the Undertones left me speechless. Guess they usually do but this time quite literally, despite getting through a whole packet of cough sweets. Tried doing a westlife and miming to all the songs but it was damn frustrating – not the same at all. Did make an exception for True Confessions though and promptly lost it completely (my voice, lost the rest years ago!). God it sounded good. By the end I could’ve given Kermit a good run for his money (suppose he’s got a fair few bob) and had to retreat to the relative fresh air of the bar above. Shame about the sound as the set was excellent. Great mix of people singing along too and lots of females at the side of the stage where Damian was – can’t think why :) Lindsay on 22:36 23rd-Dec-03 GMT #4ee-25680 Nice to meet up with new faces (Wayne and Jo) and thanks to Mark for getting the band back to Yorkshire. Really appreciate them travelling over here at such a busy time. Have a great Christmas everyone and heres to more gigs in 2004. Oh and PS. Jackie, if you leave any more toothbrushes at my house I’ll soon have more supplies than a branch of Boots! wilke on 22:59 23rd-Dec-03 GMT #69c-25682 lindsay got your card thanks can you send me your e mail .new gigs next year one which i am trying to make is on the 2 of may in birmingham .with the buzzcocks and the damned at the academy .dont know if its on the . com site yet but you should check it out ok talk soon see ya Wayne on 00:19 24th-Dec-03 GMT #536-25683 I bought one of kids size Hypnotised T’s off of US Ebay in the summer for my youngest boy and which he was worn to Derry and Brighton gigs. Also came with a backstage pass – you’ll see from the pics that they seem to have been on a tour with a wide mix of bands. Cliff explained to me that that in fact the band had had them made up as a joke (don’t know if you can elaborate any more Cliff?). Wayne on 00:20 24th-Dec-03 GMT #536-25684 The guy who was selling them, Ed Toth, said he had booked the band a couple of times in Allentown, Philadelphia and as support for Joe Jackson in New Jersey via a connection he had with Sire and sent me a pic of contract and one of the gig tickets. Wayne on 00:22 24th-Dec-03 GMT #536-25685 Link for pics is very long so you'll have to copy and past into explorer bar (if you are interested) http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/waynetatlow/slideshow2?.tok=phrz3XABZYhR1kvG&.dir=/Undertones&.src=ph
