Jimmy Jimmy played on BBC Radio 6 and 6:06 am. What a nice way to be worken up in the morning. (Ok so there are better ways.... but not many).

Cactus on 06:36 25th-Jan-05 GMT #026-32910
Green Day. A lot of fun and energy and managed a credible fight against the Brixton Academy's truly crap sound system too. Couldn't help thinking that the band is becoming a bit too much of a caricature of a rock band; spend too long taking the piss out of things and you risk ending up exactly like it anyway; lighters in the air indeed (and YMCA)! A lot of (very loud) pyrotechnics; they have to be loud to really make you jump with all the other noise going on. There was way too much inter-song messing about and extensions to songs for no good reasons; played too many slow songs really. Having three members of the audience up to take over the instruments actually worked pretty well; the bass player they picked out was a star! Can't helping thinknig Blink 182 were better at the same venue just before Christmas. (Can I be sent to Hell for that comment.)

Cactus on 06:42 25th-Jan-05 GMT #026-32911
Bought Thunderbirds film on DVD yesterday; (and an old Avril Lavigne single, plus a Thomas Hardy book and the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Part 3 as audio books as I'm too lazy to read anything).

Cactus on 06:44 25th-Jan-05 GMT #026-32912
Don't 'the kids' catch busses? After Green Day I walked out of the venue and straight onto my bus home. There were thousands milling about outside and no one got on the same bus. (I didn't smell that bad.)

Vinny on 09:33 25th-Jan-05 GMT #e2a-32913
Wilke, will you email me your yahoo address? Thanks

Liam on 09:38 25th-Jan-05 GMT #01c-32914
Wilke - I have checked and there is nothing wrong with the site. If you have forgotten your password you can request a new one be sent to you on the login page of the forum. The way it is now set up all passwords are encripted so I can't even log in as you to test it for you.

wilke on 10:46 25th-Jan-05 GMT #e2a-32916

Green Day. A pile of shite. Sorry. (Saw Gang of Four last night :-))

Rick on 14:20 25th-Jan-05 GMT #2a9-32919
I love the scene in 'High Fidelity' where they're playing the first SLF album in the record store and some kid comes in and says 'Is this the new Green Day single?'.

JoP on 17:24 25th-Jan-05 GMT #adc-32921
That's cos it's shite!

Jackie on 19:11 25th-Jan-05 GMT #ed7-32922
Cactus I know what you mean. I spent my life 'on the Buses'I can still remember all the routes and numbers (remember the 549 Christine???) that was a magical mystery tour. My son wouldnt know a bus from his backside (or mine for that matter!!!)

Wayne on 19:11 25th-Jan-05 GMT [rainbow.arch.scriptmania.com/rainbow_tv_episode.html] #8c3-32923
Seen this on the tv before, but always good for a laugh

Jackie on 19:12 25th-Jan-05 GMT #ed7-32924
Was its the Kids from Fames version of High Fidelity?

Jackie on 19:15 25th-Jan-05 GMT #ed7-32925
To all the non-saasananchs among ye- happy Burns Night- just back from my mams haggis supper. Braw it was.

donald on 20:37 25th-Jan-05 GMT #d8a-32926
thanks Jackie. Had my haggis last night, a truly underrated dish, we eat it at least once a month. very cheap as well but I suppose blood and guts dont cost much!thanks for Green Day reviews, even JoP's. Never liked gang of four, were they any good? A mate said Blink 182 were great in December but I was sceptical.

Jackie on 20:54 25th-Jan-05 GMT #ed7-32928
Before anyone gets too worried I DID have vegetarian haggis whilst everyone else had the real stuff- nice it was too, though the neeps tatties and gravy usually impress me more! David and the kids like the left over haggis fried next day and served with chips...Yes it is a cheap tasty meal rather like my other staple- a 'leg of mince'. Had to make do with the plastic skin variety this year as my dad hadnt time to pop over the border to Kelso to get the genuine article!!

George on 21:07 25th-Jan-05 GMT #278-32929
Is Jackie implying that her backside is as big as a bus! Jackie knows I'm not brave enough to even think such things. Checked prices for Barcelona last night. Not looking too good, presumably with it being the start of Easter. Suppose an alternative might be to fly to Southern France the day before and take my time.

AlexD on 22:05 25th-Jan-05 GMT #e94-32930
Does anyone have doninblack's email address? Or if your reading could you mail me eck_d at yahoo.com Cheers, it's a Stranglers related issue.

Arthur on 23:55 25th-Jan-05 GMT #2bf-32931
