i've waited 3 sodding weeks and of all the weeks guess what had to drop my oldest to her friends house!i have missed it!arrghh!

Over the last few months I'd become a bit less enthusiastic about going to see the Undertones,I wasn't really sure why, it just sort of crept up on me.When I thought about it I came to the conclusion that, since they reformed 5 long years ago, maybe I've just seen them to often.The magic had worn off a bit, you obviously can have to much of a good thing.If someone had told me 5 years ago the band would play a UK tour and I'd only manage 1 gig, I'd never have believed it.I've always dreaded the day I lose my sex drive, hopefully it'll never happen and in the same way I dreaded going tonight in the fear that I just wouldn't get that buzz anymore.Maybe I'd just burnt myself out where the Undertones are concerned, maybe them reforming was something I just needed to see before I died but now its gone on for a while, the magics just not there anymore? Maybe I've grown up(yuk!)and there are lots more important things in my life now?.....

.....thankfully not, coz they WERE FUCKING BRILLIANT!!!! After the first few songs I stood there and breathed a sigh of relief as all those old feelings came flooding back.The tingle, the feel good factor, the silly smile on your face coz the songs are so great.I'm not going to do a long review, just to say I'm so happy that the Undertones can still make me feel so good, the songs are just the greatest, new and old, it dosent matter.20+ 2 minute gems played loud like that is just the ultimate musical buzz, and I know I've said it before but 'recommending me' is superb, just a bit better than the excellent 'here comes the rain'.Brilliant stuff, thankfully I havent grown up ;-).

Home and i seem to have a very dodgy left knee as a result of too much 'last gig for a while' dancing. A few more words & pics, and hopefully vid clip of Tear Proof, tomorrow. Met up with Roger and Tony beforehand, saw Cliff, Henry and Temi in foyer and found myself next to Cactus at the front and finally Jon appeared from the crowd. Great night - played Bitter Sweet AND Julie Ocean, TPE song but not Sonics song
